Great location and amenities

Thanks for an enjoyable vacation! Amazing location - enjoyed the beach, fishing, fire pit and horseshoes that were part of Lemmon Lodge, the short walk to the marina and town, as well as relaxing on the balcony and watching the moose wander around the cabins.

Great house, great location

The house was very comfortable. It was within walking distance of Grand Lake. There was great hiking within a short drive. We were lucky that we entered Rocky Mountain National Park after the hours where a permit is required, but we weren't aware of the permitting requirements.

Lake house in convenient location to Boardwalk

We had a very nice stay at the Eagle’s Nest Cabin near the edge of Grand Lake. Nice community of cabins with playground and small private beach plus tricky point for fishing and launching a kayak or canoe if you bring one. Rooms and bathrooms were all clean and nice. Bedrooms & Bathrooms are not large but adequate. The home was fully stocked and had one den area upstairs and one downstairs, which came in handy with sleeping babies in the bedroom downstairs. Our host, Anne-Marie, was very nice about calling to be sure all was fine as we were arriving and we had a lovely stay with our two young grandsons, who did not want to leave. Grand Lake was a beautiful area of Colorado, which we had never seen and definitely plan to return. I would recommend this cabin and Grand Lake.

Perfect location

We had a lovely stay in the Eagle's Nest during our family getaway to Grand Lake. A private beach is just a short stroll away and when we wanted to go souvenir shopping or grab a bite to eat we walked right into town. Lemmon lodge community is conveniently right next to the boater's choice rental facility where we went daily to rent kayaks and SUPs. The property had plenty of space (we appreciated two bathrooms so our tween could have her own haha) and we enjoyed the decor. The owner was extremely responsive to questions and helped quickly resolve an issue we had with the door locking mechanism. Only negatives were that the bed upstairs was really too firm for my taste and pillows pretty flat, so I did not sleep too well. Next time I'll bring my own pillow!

BOOK NOW!!! Perfect stay in Grand Lake!

My husband and I had visited Grand Lake for our anniversary several years ago and always wanted to bring our daughters to this amazing Colorado paradise. AnnieMarie was an amazing host! The cabin was the perfect place for our family of 7 ( 5 daughters ranging from 24 to 5 yrs). Plenty of space without feeling crowded. Perfect location within walking distance to everything in town as well as a secluded beach and sitting area near the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed all things Grand Lake during our stay. AnneMarie was super accommodating as our youngest daughter got extremely sick and had to be rushed to the emergency hospital 30 minutes away. She was so helpful and patient with us making sure all our needs were met for our family during the stress of her illness. Everyone is healthy and well now! We DEFINITELY will be back again to stay here as we absolutely LOVE this place - maybe one day retire here! Thank you AnneMarie and family! We are forever grateful!

Close to Everything That Makes Grand Lake "Grand"!

The cabin was super charming, cozy, and clean, with plenty of space for lounging and a lovely second floor patio. We couldn't believe how close it was to everything! It's literally a two minute walk to the lake beach, a two minute walk to the marina and a two minute walk into town. We were also able to walk to two different trailheads! Just be aware that the cabin is very close to the surrounding cabins in the complex, so if your neighbors are loud... you'll hear them. And I would suggest to the host that perhaps it would be good to have a binder in the house with basic info like how to turn on the fireplace, how to work the thermostat, etc. There was a binder full of maps and local recommendations, which was great, but the basic info would also be good to have. Overall, this is a great spot that allows you to easily explore Grand Lake without needing to get in your car!

Very nice cabin, but not for 6-7

Grand Lake is a wonderful place to visit. This cabin is very nice and located in Lemmon Lodge right on the lake and a block from town. The cabin is described as for up to seven people. However, that is a real stretch. It’s comfortable for up to five, not more. The foldout couch for the 6th/7th visitors is broken and not usable. The cabin has a pleasant living area and good kitchen, as well as an outdoor balcony that’s nice in the morning or evening. Lots of amenities nearby. A fun place! However, when we were there it was in need of some additional cleaning—dust and dog hair on the floor and cobwebs and burned out bulbs in the dining room light fixture. But overall, if you have a smaller group, it’s a nice, enjoyable place to stay.

Ideal Location

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to stay in a Lemmon Lodge home with access to a private beach to launch our kayaks and paddle boards. The home had everything we needed for a long holiday weekend. We plan to return to enjoy additional amenities like the community firepit. The home could use new pillows for both bedrooms, and additional towels would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, AnneMarie, for everything. You are a wonderful host.

Nice cabin on Grand Lake

We had a great vacation in this very nice cabin. It has a spacious kitchen and eating area which was nice since my son, who owns another cabin on Grand Lake, often joined us for meals. This location is super! - Close to town, close to the lake and beach, and close to our son's cabin. We loved everything about this cabin except for the bedrooms. My wife has troubles with stairs, so we chose the first floor bedroom. It was small and cramped and had a bunk bed overhead which I did't like. I understand that this is the "kids" bedroom with the adult master bedroom is upstairs, but for us that didn't work. The description read "sleeps 7" but with only 3 beds I'm not sure how this works (the hide-a-bed was not functional) This is a very nice cabin and I don't want to be negative, but I did have a few pet peeves during our stay -- the closets were so full of stuff we couldn't fit our clothes in, the downstairs bathroom only had 2 bath towels and no floor mat for the whole week, the kitchen had no dish towels or hot pads (I ran into town and got some and was reimbursed), both bathroom exhaust fans made a lot of noise and didn't seem to exhaust much (we left the windows open). These were all minor things and we had a great vacation. We would consider this cabin again in the future - its a very nice, clean, modern cabin in a super location.

Amazing location

Property is in an amazing location with many amenities on private property including a sandy beach, fire pit at lake, and a horseshoe and volleyball area. Easy walk to all of towns amenities including restaurants, boat rentals, mini golf and shopping. Cabin itself was charming with mountain themed furniture. It was immaculate and hosts responded immediately to the few questions we had.

Definitely coming back here

Sometimes a little glitch in a trip tells you everything you need to know about who you're working with. Our international trip was delayed on short notice due to passport office delays, so we decided to take a quick, 4-night trip to our favorite location...Grand Lake! We found Eagle's Nest cabin on VRBO, and even though normally we have to book a year out, it magically was available for the nights we were needing! Upon arrival (8 hours drive) we found that the door code wasn't working. We called the owner and she answered immediately & issued a new code - we were delayed all of 2 or maybe 3 minutes. That's the kind of responsiveness I love, but rarely see in my travels!! :) This is the type of owner I like doing repeat business with. Location was excellent, we could hear the river at night and it's an easy walk to the private beach. Also within walking distance was kayak rentals, ice cream, a fire pit for s'mores and all downtown. House was well equipped to cook and grill with options for indoor and outdoor seating. The upstairs balcony is perfect for afternoon happy hour. The fireplace and lots of games are perfect for afternoon thunderstorms. We had everything we needed, even the extra touches that make it feel like a true vacation (paper towels, dish soap, hand soap in the bathrooms). AND, it was clean. I do yoga so I'm reporting in from the front lines of the floor! Cleanup exit steps were minimal which also made it feel like a real vacation. YAY! We'll be back!

Wonderful mountain lake property

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at Eagles Nest and Lemon Lodge located in grand Lake Colorado. The cabin was clean well stocked with kitchen utensils and appliances for cooking meals and perfectly located to both the lake and town. My kids enjoyed the beach and the playground as well as plenty of fishing and kayaking. We will definitely be back!

Perfect weather

The property worked pretty well for us. It was a good size for three people. Although the home could use a little TLC and maintenance, for example it needed some new lightbulbs, there were no wash cloths, no soap in the showers, and the coffee machine didn’t work. We fixed it with the help of YouTube, but guests should know it was a Keurig only machine. We had a great time hiking and kayaking, and the weather was wonderful. Thanks for sharing your home!

About the host

Hosted by AnneMarie Anderson

Host profile image
We purchased this property as a dream... to have a place to fill our cup. Something as unique as our family. We wanted to seize the moment instead of wondering "what if.." for one more day. We had to have nature, variety, activity, rest and culture, all in one. We also have always been interested in offering that hospitality and respite to others. We know you need it as much as we do. Relax, invigorate, reinvent or play. Welcome to our Heaven away from home.

Why they chose this property

We've been searching for a mountain property for about ten years. We could not decide between remote acreage or resort town. Then, we rented a VRBO on Shadow Mountain Lake and drove over to Grand Lake Village and wandered onto Lemmon Lodge and knew instantly. It's as if this place found us... as it has found you.

What makes this property unique

Lemmon Lodge at Grand Lake is a one-of-a-kind community. There are other cabins in the community and yet it never has a "busy" feel. There is waterfront access to both the river and the lake with a private community beach, fishing pointe, bonfire pit (provide your own wood), horseshoes and breathtaking views.
You then can walk right to town and enjoy everything this incredible town has to offer. Grand Lake is fiercely protective of it's small town sophistication and does not welcome big box. Quality trumps quantity every time. We challenge you to accomplish all of the activities offered in the town and surrounding nature.
