This 3 bedroom, 2 public room detached house, in a large wooded garden and with parking for 3 cars, would suit families as a base to explore Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland. A perfect retreat for visitors to Edinburgh looking for fully modernised accommodation in a quiet, country setting with beautiful views of the Pentland hills.
Set in a third of an acre of grounds, surrounded by trees, on 2 floors, completely renovated cottage.
Ground floor has kitchen with breakfast bar open plan into large dining room with table to sit 6/8 a bathroom with shower/bath, and 2 large bedrooms, all with stripped wooden floors.
First floor has a large lounge with beautiful views over the Pentland Hills, third bedroom (double) and a WC/shower room.
Central heating, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble drier, fridge freezer, electric hob and fan oven, tv, bluetooth speaker, unlimited wi-fi, 2 power showers, bath, outdoor seating area with table and 4 chairs. Parking for 3 cars.

We had a wonderful time. The cottage was cozy, well equipped and super clean. Would highly recommend. I know if we are ever in the area again we will pick the cottage as our home away from home again

Excellent location to explore Edinburgh and surrounding areas. The owner Morven was super helpful & met us upon arrival. Spacious, clean and well equipped.

We have modernised the old gate house to become a modern, light and spacious family home which now sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the location. It has been a labour of love to restore the cottage and enjoy seeing it enjoyed by guests. We enjoy meeting you at check in to answer any questions and welcome you to Lowood.

Why they chose this property

This gate house is set in a beautiful countryside location surrounded by trees, within easy reach of the city centre, Fife, South Queensferry and the 3 bridges. It is 20 minutes from the airport and 25 minutes to the city centre.

What makes this property unique

The cottage is set in the grounds of a B listed mansion, Lowood House and in a peaceful countryside setting. Edinburgh Airport is a 15 minute drive away. A 4 minute walk to the bus stop gets you a 43 bus which takes you directly to the city centre. During August, Edinburgh Fringe and international Festivals, in December, Edinburgh Christmas markets and of course, Edinburgh’s famous Hogmanay celebrations. A 10/15 minute drive takes you to South Queensferry, a historical seaside village with the three bridges crossing the Firth of Forth to Fife. Golfing at St Andrews, Gleneagles, and East Lothian within an hours drive. Edinburgh’s Royal Burgess golf club is a 3 minute drive away.
This is a deceptively spacious family home from home. This gives you a peaceful escape within touching distance of all that Edinburgh has to offer.
