It has charming country views south across Blackadder River to Greenlaw Mill Farm and Catmoss Hill forming one of three sides of an open courtyard, together with walled yard and the estate wall of Castletoun House. Unusually for a village property the position offers a certain seclusion without being isolated.

The cottage has been sympathetically refurbished and furnished with a pleasing mix of contemporary and period furniture which gives it warm and homely feel.
