If a house touches the sea in Tenerife, this is the one. Really first line property on the popular fishing village of El Medano at the very south of Tenerife. Situated at a pedestrian lane in the very centre, near the beach, all restaurants, the main plaza (central square). This old village was a fishing centre until it became more and more popular among travellers wanting to enjoy the beach but looking for the real taste of the island.
The Médano is one of the best charming beaches in the south of Tenerife, whether you are passionate about water sports or want (windsurf, kitesurf) to enjoy a fantastic family day. The beach has the distinction of the Blue Flag, which guarantees high quality services and optimal water conditions. The house has got 2 levels and 2 terraces with all the views. Free Wifi. Only 50 metres away you find a big Plaza (square) with 2 local markets: on Wednesdays they offer the Local Farmers producers, a good option to try the tasty vegetables & fruits of the area at very good prices. On Saturdays they also have a "mercadillo".

Great property in a central location, with an excellent outlook over the waves - small downside is that it is a bit more tired than shown in the pictures but the excellent outlook and helpfulness of the property manager easily outweighs that.

Lovely House on the Sea

This house was lovely with the perfect location on the sea front and central to the village so good for supermarkets and bars/restaurants. The house was very clean had good facilities. We had some issues with the plumbing but this was sorted straight away by the owner. We would definitely stay here again.

From the moment Cesar met us we felt at home and didn’t want to leave. So much so booked to come back before we left. As mentioned in other reviews location is excellent within easy reach of shops and places to eat but once in the house you feel mikes from anywhere. Loved having breakfast watching the waves and wildlife and the sun roof was a great place to chill day or night. .

first time at the big house

we have stayed at the small one three doors down, so this time we has the same view but more space. the roof is better - more private, there's a screen. the downstairs balcony is better too, quite a bit bigger, and less sea spray since it's slightly higher up. the rest was equally brilliant - the view, the sound of the sea, the access to the town. It's just a great place to stay.

My family and I had a great holiday in Casa Medano. The house’s location was perfect for us and the accommodation was very comfortable and provided with everything that you could possibly need in a house. We also appreciated the good communication from the owners and, the personal touches like the welcome pack and the shower sponges.However, the external areas of the balcony and the roof terrace were disappointing due to rusty balcony rails, a rusty and inoperable sun awning and a cheap mixture of outdoor furniture, which was nothing like the website photographs.In addition the external doors to the balcony and the roof terrace were badly weathered and very difficult to open and close. For those reasons I have given my review a ‘Good’ rather than an ‘Excellent’ star, which I would have liked to have given.

Amazing property. Actually on the seafront. Huge rooms with a rooftop terrace (not overlooked) with breathtaking views of the area. The sea can be a bit noisy when the tide is in at night but it is within a few seconds walk from local coffee shops, restaurants and bars. Very close to a nice beach and taxi ranks (€20 from airport) with a relaxed vibe. Owner is very welcoming and helpful. A wonderful holiday!

With views like this you can’t go wrong

This was our second stay at this lovely house and we were not disappointed - it lived up to our happy memories entirely, with some new improvements too! Apparently there was a new TV but I was much more excited by the new dishwasher and the parking space in a local car park (right next door to one of our favourite cafe/bars although now much more rowdy than we have have enjoyed it for years!) - genius in an ever busier El Médano and saved hours of trawling the streets for a space. In terms of location, the town definitely doesn’t have the tranquil, ‘our little secret’ feel any more that we have enjoyed for years, but when you close the front door and look out at the sea, the house is still a secret treasure!

Big apartment in best possible location

We really enjoyed our stay here, highlights were: + Spacious and well furnished apartment with balcony, roof deck, and 4 showers + Top location directly in the city centre of El Médano and directly next to the ocean + Helpful contact person for check-in, check-out and additional information Some minor drawbacks, most of them easily fixable, are: - The apartment was not well cleaned, cabinets contained lots of coarse dust and we had to wash all dishes before use - The ladder to the ocean is rusted especially at the mounting point which should be fixed for safety reasons - Old kitchen equipment, the water boiler immediately lead to a fuse blowing. - During flow, waves immediately hit the house's foundation which can be a bit loud. That was all ok for us, but may be a concern for light sleepers If we were to stay in the same area again, we would not hesitate renting here again!

Need some care

The apartment was shortly renovated and therefore in good shape. Unfortunately the apartment is cared poorly and no attention is payed for the equipment and the fittings. Despite the glasses for Gin we found spreading out 3 waterglasses and 4 for longdrinks - an apartment for 8 persons. All the kichen equipment is quite useless. Not one of the knives really cut. In addition all the broken machines like coffee and waterboiler aren't disposed of. The same with the broken freezer, a plastic boat and a kind of wooden boared in terrace kitchen. Before the arrival of guests it would be a plus to wipe and furnish the terrace and order the equipment.

Fantastic space and gorgeous views - hard to do them justice on camera

If you are looking for pristine luxury then this may not be the place for you, however to write it off on that basis would mean missing out on one of the most special places we have stayed. Despite being in the heart of the ever busier El Medano with great cafés, bars, restaurants and shops on your doorstep as soon as you walk into this house you are transported to a place of peace and serenity. Any street noises are masked by the sound of the sea at the back (even when a band of 6 or so buskers set up right outside our door!). The space inside downstairs particularly is fantastic but even better are the generous balcony and desperate roof terrace which catch the sun from dawn til dusk. And did I mention the views??!! It is hard to describe or capture in a photo just how breath taking it is to wake up to uninterrupted sea views every morning. In addition both Ana (before we set off) and Cesar whilst we were there, were helpful, friendly but professional and took time to listen to and consider our needs. The only negative thing I can think of is that the kitchen lacked a few handy items (colander but we gifted one to the house, peeler, sharp knives although there was one...) but did have some lovely little treats for us on arrival which was great. I would thoroughly recommend this place - you won’t want to leave!

Paradise from home & minutes from TFS (no noise)

Very pleasantly surprised by the size, amenities and location of the house, which although on the main pedestrian way, was quiet and separated from the world outside once the door was closed. You can view and appreciate the surroundings in privacy from the roof, the balcony and windows without being "amongst it". If you do get the desire to get "amongst it," you can be there via walk in less than 1 minute. The local beach and square does not have the fly sellers as experienced in the larger towns and cities which was a blessing. Trips out were easily accessible via a minutes walk to local buses / stops that run every hour to Los Cristianos, Santa Cruz and cost less than a pint of beer! The house is surrounded by wonderful restaurants (and stores) all with their own character and style, and all equally delicious cuisine, all walkable and reasonably priced. Paradise from home locations such as El Medano normally come with mosquitoes and non potable water... but not here - no bites and the water is good from the tap. Shower relies upon solar water heater, so definitely take them later in the day, or use the "Sea Shower" on the deck with a kettle or two... prefect and secluded. A new(ish) 125cc scooter was available for rent 30e / day and was enough for two of us to explore the island up to Santa Cruz (the Barcelona of the island complete with "Las Ramblas"!) , taking in the beautiful Candelaria and it's Basilica. We also went up to Los Gigantes and then onwards and upwards to the Mount Teide. Definitely take a "layer or two" as ground level is 23degC and above the clouds is ~ 5-7degC And for the "lazy days" there is a great walk and exercise equipment on the boardwalk to get your heart racing before spreading out in the sun. We always say "what would we do differently?" Well probably not a lot.... next time (and there will be a next time) i shall bring some long casting rods, bubble floats and fluoro line, small hooks to get after the mullet about 15-20 mtrs off the beaches and balcony "al a locales". And a drop net as there is no direct access to the water from the balcony, which is safely barriered off and ladder removed to avoid the ealry morning low tide beachcombing intruders, climbing up to get a view ;-). All in all a perfect relaxing break, location, food and never bored once in two weeks. Highly Highly recommended especially for those looking for something quieter and cultural.T hank you Cesar & Juan Jose for a wonderful vacation.

Alles hat sehr gut funktioniert. Uns gefällt das Haus , die Lage perfekt , leider schon ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Die Mauer in der Toilette im Zimmer bröckelt ab , die Terrasse leider verrostet usw. Wir waren schon zum zweiten mal dort , würden es sehr gerne wiederbuchen. Aber bitte unbedingt renovieren. Ansonsten alles perfekt. Lg
