A few minutes from Newquay Airport, 2 minutes to the beach and to the amazing hotels, bars, restaurants in Watergate Bay. Great views, world renowned surfing, amazing walks - or simply a great place to relax or have a big get-together !
The Blue House was completely refurbished in 2019, ! A "wow house" as featured in many publications!

New for 2020 is the addition of our Outdoor hot tub and bar area.. A great place to relax after a day at the beach or after a surf session in the waves!

This modernised, Cape Cod style family home, located in the village of Tregurrian (Watergate Bay) offers a large amount of living accommodation for 2 or more families wishing to holiday in the increasingly popular Watergate Bay area. The house offers 4,000 square feet of internal space comprising 7 bedrooms, (one downstairs) 5 bathrooms, (one downstairs) 2 living rooms, a huge modern kitchen diner, utility room, and games room complete with X-box and ping-pong table. and our amazing Cinema room

Sleeping up to 14, the house is ideal for family groups & is just a short walk from renowned Watergate Bay and its many amenities (including Watchful Mary and the Beach Hut ). The Watergate Bay Hotel is just about 1 minute away, with its bars, restaurants, and leisure facilities. The Bedruthan Steps Hotel is also about 5 minutes drive away, offering other dining, bar, and leisure options.
The property also benefits from a large west facing decked terrace, with beautiful views, running along the front of the property above the garden that allows you to enjoy the sun late on into the evening.
All the bedrooms at the front of the house have a view of the sea.

The house is great for parties and celebrations . We have hosted many 50th, 70th and even a 90th birthday party and can put you in touch with local caterers etc.

The house also has outdoor seating and a barbecue .

Lovely Week Away

We have been coming to the area for many years now and this has to be the best property we have stayed in so far. Very spacious with all the ammenities you could want and a great location to hit some body boarding and get some good food. Would highly recommend.

Perfect location for large family break in Cornwall

The house is great, pictures tell a true story of what is available, just a few hundred meters up the hill from a great beach at Watergate bay... If you have a car then it's an easy journey to several other iconic venues in Cornwall, I would personally recommend a drive to Fowey

The Brilliant Bluehouse

The Bluehouse is a great place to stay with a large group, there is plenty of space for people to relax and all the bedrooms are lovely. The hot tub and outside shower are perfect for warming up after being in the sea and the indoor cinema and games room are ideal for days when the weather isn't great. I'd 100% stay here again.

Great family home

The Bluehouse was perfect for our extended family to come together to celebrate a wedding, great outside area and plenty of space if anyone needed a bit of peace. Location is ideal for the beach and the coastal path. The managing agents responded quickly to resolve issues.

June Break 2022

A fantastic time had at the Blue House. 13 family members spanning 4 generations to celebrate a big bday. Accommodation was excellent, facilities fantastic and location great. Loved the big family kitchen, so user friendly and we made use of all the beach equipment. V easy to live in for a week, we will be back!

Beautiful house

The house exceeded our expectations. The kitchen dining area was a great communal space. The table tennis table was a hit and the electronic devices provided something for everyone in our diverse party. Would recommend.

Check in/out went very smoothly with good communication with the hosts. We thought the house was lovely and had something for everyone, our age range was 9 weeks to 74. Teenagers enjoyed the table tennis and cinema, the toy cupboard for the little boys (5,3,3) was amazing, really lovely toys, they enjoyed a bit of cinema too. Beach was quite a walk for the little ones, with buckets and spades etc but very easy to do a shuttle service to the beach which takes less than 5 mins. Bedrooms and bathrooms worked perfectly for us and the open plan kitchen with the large table was a constant hive of activity. The kitchen pretty well equipped but we did have to buy a grater and could have done with a garlic press and a colander. Overall though we had a really lovely week. Thank you!

Superb house with instant wow factor which just builds and builds as you explore further!

This property is incredible! Everyone in our group kept saying how amazing it was. We went as a group of adults. The communal areas are stunning. The cinema room, games consoles and table tennis table gave real focal points. The house is absolutely 10 out of 10 and I’m already trying to find a reason to come back.

Brilliant stay

We are a group of 12 ladies of a certain age. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at the Bluehouse, very well equipped, lots of space and places to relax inside and out. The location was perfect as only a short walk down the hill to Watergate Bay. Some of us had a surfing lesson with Westcountry Surf School, which we would recommend. Also close to the SW coastal path. We will return. Storm Running Ladies

A really family friendly house for a large beach, happy family, would have liked to use the BBQ but it was not clean ( that’s are only gripe) other wise the perfect house, definitely would stay again!!! 👌

Family Get Together

This was an ideal sized house for a large family holiday . The space was ideal for six children under 8 , parents and grandparents . Some of the furniture was not child friendly especially for toddlers . Well stocked with toys for all ages including beach toys . Ideal location for Watergate Bay and nearby beaches as well as coastal walks .

Large, modern, well-equipped house in a great location

We were a family party of 8 adults and 6 children. All of us enjoyed the space, comfort and generous amenities of this 7-bedroom house. Watergate Bay is a short walk or drive away. The weather was drab so the table tennis, TVs and computer games provided happy preoccupation for the youngsters. We've been taking family holidays since 2015 and this was one of the best houses we've had, albeit also the most expensive.

Great location but !

Great location, house designed well but ... too many large equipment failings i.e. fridge, freezer WiFi faulty plus numerous irritating smaller issues including leaking shower trays, broken light fitting, cooker shelving insecure, no gas for BBQ.

Wonderful Holiday Home

The Blue House will not make you blue! It has plenty of room for a large get together. Our family of 12 could spread out doing multiple activities. The table tennis was a big hit with the boys. There was a great selection of games and toys, indoor and outdoor. The kitchen was fantastic and super well equipped. We had every meal there, except our last night. Thank you for the 2 dishwashers! Niggly comment…A/V cables need work. We would love to come back.

A lovely home

The house was amazing. The grandchildren (4,5,7,7yrs) all loved the cinema room and the toys available. Even though the weather was not good the hot tub was used every day. Lots of beautiful beaches near by. We all found lots to do, Camel Creek was a favourite, but there were gardens, National Trust, Seal Sanctuary, Eden Project and many more places to visit. The hosts were always at hand & helpful when needed. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds very comfortable. There was 6 adults & 4 children in our group, there was so much room in the house we never felt on top of each other. Thank you for sharing your home.

Difficult communicating with host, miss leading information on key details We had a problem which was sorted out the same day by the management team which was excellent. I am very sorry about not leaving recycle materials in the poly bags. I did not read the leaving page of the brochure until the Friday.

Disappointing experience

On first arrival , thought location was excellent and house looked lovely , however , lots of issues and the management company not very responsive. Host blamed previous clients and the weather ! very disappointing as this is the beginning of the season so you would expect things to be in good order. we experienced, missing items , broken items , poor condition of equipment supplied , leaking roof - Overall not the standard I would have expected. Compensation offered an appreciated however all the issues made the week stressful and disappointing.

Dear Jane, we are dissapointed and surprised you chose to review us so low. We dont feel this is at all a fair review or representation of the house.. You complained the beds were not the right configuration.. PURE the management company attended within 24 hours to change this to which you said "NO" and sent them away . You complained an ice machine wasnt working. We dont have an ice machine and .. the spare fridge in the utility room has an ice feature but it is not plumbed in.. because of this we DONT advertise it as a feature. It states this on the fridge The broken items were a broken caffitere a broken spatula and one light bulb.. all of which have been replaced. We have almost 14 guests every week , so items do get broken and we ask you to report these to PURE our managament company who will get them replaced. You informed us of these AFTER you had checked out. You have still not told us what is missing . You will find we have more plates , crockery, knives, mugs, cups, glasses , cutlery, 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, 2 fridges, pots, pans, saucers, coffee machines, than any other house , so to say we are lacking in items is quite strange and totally wrong. We acknowledge we had a leak in the roof which caused some water damage to one of the bathrooms . However given it rained very heavily every day , it is not possible other than to patch up until it is dry. this has subsequently been fixed. We offered you compensation due to one bathroom being out of use. Regarding poor equipment you reffered to the table tennis bats and balls and we apologise these were not all in working order.. more have been ordered Leaks, power outages, heating issues etc do happen. the house is occupied almost 40 weeks a year , generally with 14 people and we try to get on top of any maintenance where possible and to minimise any disruption to guests holidays. Sometimes however this is not always possible and will affect your stay as it has above . regards Lyndsey & Michael

Disappointing

On first arrival we were all very excited and the house appeared to meet all our needs. We had a problem with very little hot water so half of the party of 10 were having cold showers. I contacted Pure who sent an engineer the next day ( he turned the thermostat up to max - and this solved the issue) the following day we had raw sewage coming up in the driveway- most showers in main house did not drain away and water came back into the bathrooms. Lots of small annoying things fro fridge door not closing properly, oven door hinge broken which made using it not safe.The BBQ is incredibly dangerous as the handle is not there, incredibly rusty and gas bottle is leaking gas. Plus smaller annoying issues like broken bottle opener, broken cafeteria, no working lights in utility room, and to be honest very poor standards of cleaning-considering there is a 6 hour change over time. I have complained to Pure about our experience. If this review does get read I would like to add that while we were there we had a power cut whilst I know this is beyond Pure’s control, but some alternative lighting ie. Torches would have been very useful especially as we had two in the party with mobility issues. Unfortunately I shall not be staying here again. I do wonder if the fact it is FOR SALE has played a part in it being run down.

Although I totally appreciate there were issues during your stay. I am not sure that your review fully accounts for the steps we took to rectify all issues during your stay. Hot water- The Handiman came to rectify this issue. He deemed the whole system to be in working order, and the he did turn up the thermostat, but also recommended that not all ten adults can shower at the same time. Utility light- the Handiman service concluded that there were no issues with the light. Sewage- The property has old clay pipes (along with most of Cornwall) so they can become blocked when guests, past and present, flush inappropriate items down the toilet. We are in Cornwall, and close to many beautiful beaches. Sand in the drains of the shower is a continuous battle especially in such a large property with many bathrooms. If guests shower with a copious amount of sand on them the drans will become blocked. This combined with the clay pipes means the system does back up. I mitigate this by getting the drains flushed twice in the summer season. I have also installed a hot water shower to enable guests to shower outside. I am sorry these steps didn’t prevent the issue while you were staying at the Bluehouse. I do appreciate this would affect your holiday. I believe you received Prosecco and chocolates as a of a small token to make up for this. I have asked for all of the shower drains to be double checked. Oven door- There are two ovens in the property. In one of the ovens the glass had slipped. The Handiman’s report stated that this had been glued and fixed as an interim fix during your stay. I have since ordered a new oven as a replacement oven has now been fitted. Fridge- With a large house and a number of people opening and shutting the door the hinges can fail. The fridge was brand new in February 2024. The Handiman came and looked into this issue within an hour of reporting. His report stated that the door had been slammed shut and so the top clip is broken. A new one has been ordered and fitted. Cafetière/ bottle opener, BBQ, Cleaning complaints were not reported to Pure during your stay. It is unfortunate that you decided not to report the BBQ to Pure as being dangerous and leaking gas. It would have been instantly disposed of. The bbq has now been disposed of and a new one has been ordered. Torches- this is a great idea, especially in a power cut, I am going to ordered 5 for the property. Overall, we try very hard to ensure guests have a great holiday and do our utmost to mitigate any problems if they do arise.
