THE SPACE An old chalet dating back in the beginning of the 20th century brought back to modern life in 2017, laid out onto 2 floors. Enter through the covered front porch, where you walk into a fully equipped kitchen and dining room area (sits 12 pax). On the same floor you have a very cosy living room, a large bedroom and a gorgeous bathroom, that includes a corner bathtub. Walk up the stairs and on the second floor you have 3 bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower, all linked with a hallway that leads to a balcony door that gives you access to a multi-level backyard that kisses the forest and showers your eyes with views that will humble you. Exit through the balcony door and you will have the feeling that you have booked your private resort! Whether you choose to grill your dinner, lounge and enjoy your favourite drinks, relax with a hot soak in the hot tub or better yet enjoy all of the above, the stunning mountain and lake views, are not going anywhere and will certainly put a peacefull grin on your face… Fresh linen and towels provided.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD A 5 minutes walk through the village streets leads to the lake. There you will find a nice restaurant with outdoor seating. Within short walking distance is the Ringgenberg boat station, from where you can start a boat trip in the beautiful Lake of Brienz. There are several hiking trails along the lake or a little higher offering breathtaking views to the lake and the mountains.

Nice place to stay near to the lake, we were 10 persons and that was perfekt to the size of the House. We enjoyed our stay, and will come back another time.
We had a great stay. The jacuzzi is worth it. Great views, great flow. Kitchen fully stocked for cooking and spices in the pantry which was awesome.
We were a family of 10, 5 adults, 5 kids age 8-12. We all fit comfortably and the kids had a blast on the tereace. Great access to Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lautenbrunnen. Restaurants and market close by.
We would definitely stay again.
The property was just as we expected. The host answered our questions very promptly and the checkin process was easy. Right on the bus line and close to the train. The only small complaint I have is the noise from the road as the windows aren’t super insulated.
Overall, a cute property. Plenty of bed space for everyone. We didn't realize when booking that people lived downstairs. They had notes to watch the noise level in the living room portion so we tried to stay out of there all together. With a group, its hard to be quiet.
Location was a bit further from restaurants and shops than we had thought. We just drove into Interlaken each day.
Chris was very responsive to our inquiries and check in was easy. The view from the deck was breathtaking. The space was comfortable for our inter generational family of 11. The kitchen was well supplied and there was a grocery nearby. Even though the house was close to the road, the windows were very insulating. The weather was unusually warm, but there were fans available for each bedroom. It would have been helpful to know what size coffee pods to buy so we used the French press. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Pictures make the place look much nicer than it is. There were signs posted all around the home with instructions, making us feel uncomfortable. A book with all of the rules would have been nicer.
The listing states there are bikes for us to use there. First, the host didn't provide us with the code to unlock the bikes. Then, we noticed one of the bikes was missing a tire and the rest were nearly flat.
The nicest part of the home is the first floor (second really, because we don't have access to the bottom floor since it's apparently a different appartment) bathroom, however we quickly discovered the shower drained slowly and terribly.
Once we arrived, we were greeting with an envelope requesting an additional 72 CHF in cash as a tourist tax, which after googling, was likely already paid as a part of the booking.
The listing states a hot tub as an amenity, and that there will be an additional cost "to be determined" at check in. Well, we get to check in, and it's an additional 100 CHF to use the hot tub.
The dishwasher was "clean" when we arrived but the machine doesn't clean very well.
The rooms were fine; hot, but each room had a floor fan which was nice.
Overall, it was good for the bare minimum. I would not book this with a family expecting to have an amazing experience. With young friends, it gets the job done, though.
Location is right next to the bus stop which is nice.
Location of home to buses and train station was wonderful! The home was nice and cozy, with plenty of space for the 7 of us. Only down part of not knowing of the occupancy/visitor fee that was required to be paid, in francs, at the end of our stay. Only thing we needed francs for.
Beautiful, clean, spacious with a wonderful view of Lake Brienz from the upper deck which also had a hot tub. Our family of 6 traveled to hike and explore the stunning scenery of Switzerland. We did not have a car - but the bus stop to Interlaken Ost was across the street making it easy to get to our hiking destinations. We also found a beach across the street to swim in - which felt great after a busy adventure day!!
Overall the interior of the second and third floors of the Lake View Family Apartment was clean, spacious, comfy, with a well equipped kitchen; perfect for a family. The ground floor is a separate rental.
There is no lake view from inside the house. The lake view is up precarious stairs in the backyard, some with no hand rails, not safe for young children. The house is on a busy road and we heard noise both day and night from cars, large trucks, motorcycles and the bus stop directly across from the house. Beyond the bus stop is a row of houses and commercial properties that block the view of the lake. During the day, sawing and hammering noises could be heard in the house. An information book in the house indicated that there was a restaurant across the street. We searched but didn’t find it. A local told us it closed seven years ago. It is necessary to drive to get to restaurants, grocery stores or the boat cruises. Both barbecues were too dirty to use.
This may not have been the quiet, lake view, alpine retreat that we expected but our family still enjoyed staying there. The location was ideal for day excursions.
Super Haus mit genug Platz für 13 Personen. Vermieter ist sehr gastfreundlich und reagiert schnell, auch auf spezielle Anfragen.
Kleinigkeiten die noch verbessert werden können sind
- genug Besteck und Gläser für die Gesamtbelegung von 13 Personen
- Wartungsarbeiten wie funktionierende Gardinen, ein Schloss an der WC Türe und ein Geländer beim Jacuzzi
Leider hat auch eine Herdplatte nicht funktioniert, was mit Kochen für 11 Personen eine Herausforderung war. Das hätte schneller behoben werden können.
Alles in allem hatten wir aber einen super Urlaub und können das Haus trotz kleinen Mängeln von Herzen weiter empfehlen!
Die Lage ist ideal für eine Vielzahl Skiregionen in der Umgebung.
