Casale Pangea is a tranquil and spacious country home with vaulted ceilings throughout, privately situated in a five acre olive grove, with orange, lemon, mandarin, fig, pear, plum, almond, chestnut and nectarine trees fruiting in season.

The villa is located within walking distance (1.5KMs) of hotel Masseria Santo Scalone (great for a drink or lunch/dinner), 6km from Ostuni and 5km from Carovigno (both boasting Michelin star restaurants) and 11km from the sea (a car is recommended to visit local amenities and services). The 300 year old farmhouse is uniquely restored, modernised and furnished in a relaxed Mediterranean style. Ideal for three couples or a family group. Each of the bedrooms has its own distinctive character and its own large private bathroom with shower. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped with hi-spec appliances (including SMEG oven, fridge-freezer and dishwasher) and large Indian-style dining table. A separate dining room also comfortably seats 8 people. The dining room, living room and kitchen all have glass double patio doors which lead out onto a large covered veranda facing the swimming pool and terrace, which is ideal for lounging and dining during the hot summer months. We had wonderful stay at this unique property. Location was perfect for visits to Ostuni, Alberobello, Monopoli, Locorotondo. We fell in love with Ostuni, which was so far the nicest little town we had been to. The house, the gtounds, the pool were better than expected - they were outstanding. The kitchen was really fully equipped as promised. The beds were delightful. The friendly property manager, Ottavio, was always available when needed and took care of minor pool problems without delay. Nights and mornings were magical and the Golden Hour a true delight. Rent a car is a must and it should not be a huge SUV, because the roads are narrow, especially the last 1 km to the house. But traffic is definitely manageable. Separation of garbage in Italy is always a problem, but here a wonderful solution was found in a central location for garbage disposal on the parking lot of the EUROSPIN supermarket in Ostuni just a few minutes away. No hassle with pick up of different types of garbage on different days. The best solution we found so far during our holidays in Italy. Grocery shopping in general was easy with Famila and Eurospin super markets near by. Restaurants in Ostuni, Carovigno and San Vito di Normanni plentiful and of high quality. You will enjoy Puglia at its best. 5 Stars and a big compliment to Patrick for letting us enjoy his beautiful home.

An amazing Property for 6…

The House is amazing. Very nice lot. Amazingly equipped with all you need. The outside area works perfectly with the pool. Two things needs to be updated in the description. We were 7 people, but had to place 3 adult boys in one room. The house does not have 4 sleeping rooms but 3. Neither the living room or the basement is suitable for sleeping. Further the add says it has aircondition. It does not. It’s three fans. With 6 people the house with be perfect if some air cons were installed. That would make it 10 out of 10.

Lovely relaxing holiday

Lovely large spacious property with a good sized pool. The property manager Ottavio was most welcoming and met us at an agreed place to take us to the house. It was certainly very useful as it is down a very long, partly unmade road. He was also available any time if we needed him for anything. He provided us with the best welcome pack we have ever had and we have stayed at lots of different properties and countries. The basic household provisions, like soap, washing up liquid, washing capsules etc were all provided too. Due to the very high temperatures we stayed at the villa most days making use of the lovely swimming pool. We then went out in the evenings for meals and to see more of the area. The property was only 20 minutes from the centre of Ostuni and coastal areas which had some lovely restaurants. The only thing I would say was not so good was that the website said there was air conditioning and there isn’t! It was up to 39 degrees on some of the days and even with the thick walls it still got very warm in the bedrooms and lounge in the evenings. Fans are provided but really could have done with some air conditioning. We all had a very relaxing holiday and give the house 5 stars for the lovely size of the villa and pool, the great welcome pack and Ottavio being a great property manager.

Fabulous Rural Italian Experience

We have been leasing vacation properties around the world for the last 30 years and I must say that this was one of the best experiences we’ve had yet. Communication with the owner Patrick and the caretaker Ottavio was flawless, with all questions being addressed promptly. As for the Villa, it was certainly one of the cleanest, tidiest and well cared for unit we’ve ever rented. Appliances and kitchen supplies are all top quality. It is located in a remote location, 20 minutes from Ostuni with a locked gate provided the feeling of security. The pool was absolutely pristine. Being former pool owners, we appreciated the attention to its care. One of the things we liked the most was the separation of space for people to go read, play cards, nap etc. off on their own. At one point we had 6 adults and 2 infants and didn’t feel crowded at all. It is located acres of olive and citrus trees, providing plenty of freedom for wandering but “in the boondocks” by American standards. It is 20 minutes from Ostuni with a locked gate provided the feeling of security. We thoroughly enjoyed the seclusion and quiet but it should be noted no services are within walking distance. The Villa is accessible by a 1/2 mile narrow one lane road necessitating one often to back up and pull over to let others pass. As long as you are comfortable with European driving (we were) it's no problem. We'd return in a heartbeat!

Casale Pangea

We had a wonderful stay! Perhaps stating the obvious, however a car is essential, for this villa and Puglia in general. On this note, although the villa is situated quite a few kilometres, from Ostuni, it is an easy route to the centre and parking is not a problem. After the first few drives to the villa, from the main road, we became comfortable with the journey, even though the last section is narrow and poorly lit. The grounds to the villa are well lit, so no problem when approaching in the dark. The parking area is just right in terms of number of spaces, however could do with a tarpaulin/canvas cover, to protect the cars from the extreme heat. In terms of comfort and practical amenities, the lounge, and bedrooms are well furnished and the bathrooms and kitchen are finished to a good quality. Two of the bedrooms, could benefit from a chest of draws, as we stayed for almost 3 weeks and did not have sufficient space to put our clothes away. As the outside area has been well designed for outside living, we had no problem when the heat increased during the last week, to circa 40 degrees, as there is a very large roofed area in front of the lounge and kitchen, providing shade, with comfortable furniture and even a floor rug! The second shaded area is by the swimming pool and this also houses the BBQ and a shower. The swimming pool is just the right size and not too deep, so cooling off was a pleasure. The villa manager was very helpful and all in all a lovely find!

Perfect Puglia .

This is an absolutely beautiful villa in a peaceful location about 10 minutes drive from Ostuni . We were a party of 5 adults . All 3 bedrooms were beautiful , as were their en-suite bathrooms . An incredibly well equipped kitchen with a lovely , large dining table . Separate dining room was also lovely , and led through to a very tastefully furnished living room with large, arched doors leading to one of the expansive outdoor seating areas surrounding the generous sized pool . This property benefits from a beautiful and large outside area with a choice of seating areas . Once again , very tastefully furnished . A lovely roof terrace allowed us to view the clear skies and beautiful stars at night . The rear of the property has an expansive vegetable and herb garden with ripe tomatoes and zucchini , and an expanse of fruit and olive trees . Bed linen was crisp and white ,towels and pool towels were large and fluffy . Being in the 30’s C , we made use of the well equipped laundry room and outside drying lines . We could not fault this stunning home . The owner , Patrick , has definitely renovated this traditional stone farmhouse beautifully . So tastefully decorated and furnished with tasteful finishing touches . Many thanks to property manager Ottavio for meeting us and showing us around the house on our arrival . We visited Ostuni for dinner several nights . A beautiful white town about 10 minutes drive away . It offers many excellent restaurants and stunning views . We also drove to a heritage town called Alborobello , about an hour away . Traditional trulli houses were so quaint , and local restaurants were lovely . All in all , it was a fabulous week . I would not hesitate to return to this property and would highly recommend it ! 5 stars for every aspect of our stay .

Der Facility Manager Ottavio ist einfach großartig. Das Objekt selbst ist wundervoll gelegen in einem Olivenhain, der Pool genau richtig, die Einrichtung völlig in Ordnung. Ein paar kleine Kritikpunkte: Ein Bett der drei Schlafzimmer fällt von der Qualität ein bisschen ab und die Fensterläden müssen aus Sicherheitsgründen geschlossen bleiben. Die Müllentsorgung ist ein bisschen tricky. Ansonsten hatten wir eine wundervolle Zeit vor allem auf der tollen Terrasse und mit der gut ausgerüsteten Küche. Auch die Nähe zu Ostuni, unserer Lieblingsstadt in Apulien, ist ein Pluspunkt. Fazit: Superurlaub!

Our weeks holiday in Puglia was very much centered around our stay at Casala Pangea ~ the villa is absolutely stunning and we loved every minute of our time spent at this beautiful house, set in wonderful surroundings. Firstly, the communication with both Patrick and Ottavio was perfect. We very much appreciated the recommendations of restaurants, places to visit, things to see/do and we made good use of those recommendations. We enjoyed a no-stress welcome to Casala Pangea by Ottavio and again communication was just ideal. Our first impression upon arrival at the villa was just how stunning the place is, the photos could not do the house and it’s beautiful surroundings justice and its immediately apparent how much work and thought has gone into making the villa a perfect place to spend your holiday. The villa itself is spacious, clean, cool, with historic features. The entire property is overall a well-crafted balance of modern luxury whilst in its style it maintains its classic Italian/Pugliese farmhouse charm. All three bedrooms were beautiful and spacious (even the wardrobes and furnishings in all rooms are worth admiring). The kitchen is fully equipped, is modern and stylish. We enjoyed the outdoor areas each day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In fact our intention was to eat out more and spend more time exploring Puglia, but we loved the villa so much we decided to spend more time there, making use of the BBQ area and even using some of the home-grown vegetables from the stunning grounds surrounding the house. We spent many days by the pool, which was at a perfect temperature and is as inviting as it’s shown in the photos! In summary, we’ve stayed in other villas/houses around Europe in the past and many of those have been wonderful, but Casala Pangea really has been special and we cannot wait to return next year. 10/10! Idyllic

If you are looking for the perfect place to experience real Italy and relax, you have found it here! Casale Pangea is a haven of tranquility, set in its' own olive grove and far from the madding crowds. The villa/farmhouse itself is beautifully renovated and shows real attention to detail. The owners have thought of everything and spared no expense in making sure that their guests will be comfortable. We loved the original features and the gorgeous space to be in. The beds were fabulous, the outdoor bbq great to use, all the seating was well thought out but top marks go to the swimming pool and surround. Many happy hours spent here. We did have a thunderstorm though and it was also then gorgeous to spend some time inside the villa. We were there with our children and my daughter's partner so the ensuite bathrooms to every bedroom was fabulous. Casale Pangea is almost equidistant to two local towns - Ostuni and Caravigno, both worth a visit. The owner (Patrick) went to great efforts to ensure that our time here was well spent. He gave personal recommendations (well in advance) for restaurants, places to go, even what food it was a must to sample and this meant we didn't waste any time while familiarising ourselves with the local area. Ottavio, who greeted us and drove us down to the villa was lovely. Communication with both Patrick and Ottavio was excellent...no stress there! The villa is down a narrow contrada (lane). Although we ordered a 7 seater car, the car hire company gave us a 9 seater minibus! So navigating this lane was stressful. Just saying... don't come in a huge car :) Only one word sums up Casale Pangea... Heaven. We recommend it wholeheartedly and hope to return ourselves.

Fantastisches Ferienhaus für perfekte Ferien!

Das Casale Pangea ist ein neu renoviertes, luxuriöses, wunderschönes Bauernhaus inmitten eines sehr ruhigen Olivenhains ganz in der Nähe von Ostuni. Es ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und verfügt auch über die technischen Dinge wie WLAN etc. die man sich heute wünscht. Die Bilder und Beschreibungen entsprechen exakt dem, was man tatsächlich vorfindet. Der Pool und die Außenbereiche sind ebenso wunderschön, wie das Haus innen. Da wir sehr gerne kochen, haben wir uns insbesondere über die sehr gut ausgestattete Küche gefreut! Wir durften das aus den Oliven der eigenen Bäume produzierte Olivenöl genießen, ebenso wie frisch geerntete Tomaten, die direkt neben dem Haus wachsen. Das Haus ist perfekt, um sowohl einen Tag am Pool zu verbringen und die Ruhe zu genießen, wie auch an die nahegelegenen Strände zu fahren. Die weiße Stadt Ostuni ist nur 10 min mit dem Auto entfernt. Wir haben dazu Ausflüge nach Alberobello (Stadt der Trulli) und Matera (Kulturhauptstadt Europas 2019) gemacht. Der Eigentümer ist ausgesprochen freundlich und er hat uns schon vorweg viele Tipps und Anregungen gegeben, ebenso eine Liste von sehr guten Restaurants, Bars und Pizzerien in Ostuni und Umgebung. Vielen Dank! Vor Ort wird man mit einem Begrüßungspaket (Wein, Milch, Kaffee, Brot etc.) empfangen. Ottavio der Verwalter vor Ort spricht sehr gutes Englisch, führte uns zum Haus, erklärte alle wesentlichen Dinge und war wirklich immer für Fragen offen. Wir haben als Familie einen sehr, sehr schönen Urlaub in diesem Haus verbracht und werden sicher wiederkommen. Von uns eine eindeutige Empfehlung!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Puglia back in 2015. It is a beautiful, unspoiled and authentic part of Italy with a wonderful climate, spectacular food, beautiful coastline, friendly people and so much to explore and enjoy. From Northern Europe or Northern Italy, it is easy to get to all year round.

The 300 year old farmhouse set in an olive grove had so much potential when we saw it first, close to the beautiful town of Ostuni. It is so quiet and peaceful in the countryside and within 4/5 kilometers there are beautiful villages with exciting markets, wonderful architecture, beaches, restaurants and more.

What makes this property unique

The villa has a lot of room – private corners here and there to read or relax. A large pool and pool pergola, a choice of eating areas, a BBQ and a modern hi-spec kitchen.

The property has a herb garden and citrus gardens front and rear, which are getting well established. Parsley, sage, bay, basil, rosemary and thyme are plentiful and, not to mention numerous citrus and other fruits all year round!
