About this property

BEAUTIFUL CONVERTED BARN IN AREA OF OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY

Coach House Barn is a beautifully converted former cowshed with a wealth of beams, high ceilings and wooden floors. Occupying a quiet corner of a 30 acre estate some distance from a little-used country lane, the Barn has a wonderfully tranquil setting and enjoys panoramic views over the surrounding fields and wooded hills. With a footpath at the end of the garden linking to an extensive network of walks, the property provides a perfect base from which to explore this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Access to the property is via a long gravel drive.
It's a single-storey cottage with a large and well equipped kitchen/dining room. There's a separate utility area which is where you'll find the washing machine. There's also a separate drying room. King- size bedroom with en-suite shower room. Spacious and comfortable beamed sitting room - TV/DVD/CD/WiFi (open fire NOT in use). Stable doors to private garden/seating area. Parking. Hopefully only required in winter is the oil-fired central heating. Sorry but no children, pets or smoking and minimum two nights' stay.

A lovely converted barn
We had a very relaxing weekend break in the barn. It is very generously sized whilst being warm and cozy, and is located on a quiet lane within walking distance of the The White Dog Inn which does great food (and has great beer). It is well positioned for visiting local attractions is we had stayed for longer than a weekend.

A hidden gem!
Our stay certainly exceeded all of our expectations. The barn is in a peaceful a delightfully rural location. It makes for a fantastic escape at the weekend. Local pub has fantastic food and plenty to explore on the doorstep. We'll be back!

Excellence all round
We were very impressed with the location, the spaciousness of the property and the quality of everything inside. Clive the owner was very helpful with directions, etc. Have already recommended to friends and as we holiday in Sussex regularly we will be looking to stay here again.

Excellent
We have just returned from a lovely weekend staying in the barn at Ewhurst Green. I feel the photographs do not do the property justice. It is a very large, comfortable converted barn. Everything you need to make your stay comfortable Clive and Rose have thought of. It is situated on a quiet lane, a good pub/restaurant down the road. Breakfast in the garden, watching the rabbits and the sheep in the nearby field is a lovely start to the day. The only complaint we have is that we couldn’t stay longer, still perhaps next time. Thank you Clive and Rose

I'm a freelance golf journalist who, at nearly 70, still believe I can win a major championship. Rose, my wife, is a retired drama teacher and our two daughters have long since left home.

Why they chose this property

We've been living in the house next door to the barn for 25 years and love it. It's extraordinarily peaceful - all you can hear is birdsong and rabbits munching. We're over 200 feet above sea level and the views over the surrounding woods and countryside are magnificent.

What makes this property unique

We're less than a mile from Bodiam Castle and there are numerous other National Trust properties nearby including Bateman's, Scotney Castle and Sissinghurst. If you like gardens and you're reasonably fit, you can walk to Great Dixter. Merriments, which is beautiful, is about 5 miles away and Pashley Manor is a mile or so beyond Merriments. The historic town of Battle is about 6 miles away, Hastings (8), lovely Rye (10) and the spectacular beach at Camber is about 12 miles from here. If you like walking, there are dozens of lovely walks in the area (I have a load of little walks with maps that I'm only too happy to let you borrow).
