We had a great time staying here for the Daytona 500. The property was exactly as described and the setup with three balconies was great for our group.
This condo was perfect for two small families to stay for a dance competition across the street. Pool was excellent for the kids to play in and easy, quick access to the beach. Kitchen is new and has everything you need as well as a washer/dryer unit. Would certainly choose this unit again.
Our condo was very clean and comfortable. The dishes and cookware were perfect for our family. Very nice bedding and towels as well. It felt like the owners took pride in it. We would select 1801 again.
The hotel itself was as expected for Daytona at this time of year; busy, bustling with people, wet and sandy at times but that is the beach and the staff worked to keep it dry with mops and fans constantly. Security at the South side of the resort is strict, but I am ok with order. They have a stearn policy on weather the pools closed often but they opened again shortly.
Parking was suitable and if you have guests, there is public parking across the street for 30 a day.
There is shopping a food around the hotel but its worth the venture down the strip or into Daytona for more and better quality.
I have no complaints other than people smoke on their balconies ... "smoke" is constant out there. Not the end of the world and hard to avoid anymore but it is there heavily.
Nice size space for our family of 5 and gorgeous views from all 3 balconies.
Pros: space, views, amenities (pools, lazy river), walking distance to restaurants, fun atmosphere (lively at night), sand/ocean was pretty clean/clear and sand soft near stairs and firm closer to the water, quick/easy communication with property manager. There is one pool that stays open til 10pm as well as the lazy river but the other pool stays open til midnight - so plenty of opportunities to enjoy night swimming. Fun activities like a DJ, face painting, snow cones, limbo, etc for the kids.
Cons: we had A/C issues a couple of times but Renata was super fast to respond and there was someone from the resort up to our room in 10 min to flush the A/C unit. The unit could use a good deep cleaning and some updating with certain things (master bed was very uncomfortable for me, but my husband and son who are generally able to sleep anywhere were fine with it). Futon mattresses are super thin and not comfortable either - we had to double them up. Some pillow upgrades would be nice too. Elevators had a few issues during our stay so being on the 18th floor was annoying in that regard. The neighborhood is sketchy - didn't feel super safe. There is not enough space around the pools to get a chair unless you are out there by 7:30am to reserve your spot (they discourage reserving chairs too but it seemed like everyone was still doing it). TV wasn't easy to figure out in any of the rooms.
We really enjoyed our stat at 1801 Ocean Walk. The condo was clean and well organized. My wife and two kids were all very comfortable in our rooms.
The beds were nice and comfortable to sleep in. Each room had a TV with a wide range of channels to choose from. The kids room had a smart TV with Netflix which was great to select a show for them to wind down with.
The pools were comfortable. The lazy river is not heated. The other two outdoor pools are heated. It is a rat race in the morning to get a lounge chairs by the pools. You have to get down to the pools early and "claim" your chairs. Some people try to put towels on the lounge chairs and then leave. The security people remove towels on chairs that are abandoned which is actually nice. Access to the south pool opens at 7:50. My wife or I would go down at about 7:15 to get in line for when they open things up. If you aren't down there at that time during spring break season you won't get any seats, and seats rarely open up throughout the day. That is one negative.
There is a nice tiki bar by the pool. They have all kinds of beverages and you can order foot.
The beach is excellent. It is very firm sand with not many shells. This makes a great surface for walking and jogging.
It was easy access between the condo, pools, and beach. It doesn't take long to get up and down on the elevators and the beach feels very close compared to some condo situations.
We had a great time with no complaints!
This condo was very nice, clean and well appointed with everything we needed. The owner was quick to reply anytime I messaged her. The only issue here is The Wyndham. We did not have hot water during our stay. It was luke warm at best. We talked to the Wyndham about this and they were never able to fix and didn't seem concerned about it at all. We were on the 18th floor and surveyed our neighbors we saw in the elevators and this was a common issue among people staying on the top floors. It was disappointing especially since this was such a nice condo and the owner was great. WE have stayed in Daytona several times and have never had this issue before at the other places we have stayed.
At the time of check in, the front desk was unaware of our reservation. Luckily, the owner was very easy to make contact with and answered right away. She then sent over our information. As for the resort, it was awesome, all the staff would ask if you needed assistance, live bands, live dj at the pools, beaches were awesome. Clean environment. Everything you need within walking distance, shopping, eating as well as entertainment. Make sure your keep hold of your kids while walking the sidewalks, people fly up and down the main drag.
Will definitely come back.

Would not book again!
We notified owner 3 times during our4 night stay that we had no water or hot water in the 2nd unit and could not use shower and never got any response. Also the air conditioner was not working properly and it was very hot in the master bedroom. The 2nd bedroom suite is very run down and not what we expected. We have been going to this resort for over 20 years. Will never book again from an owner that is not hands on.
My family and I had a great time on vacation at this condo. The fact the condo was split up into two separate condos, worked out perfectly. It allowed for more than enough privacy for my wife and I in one condo, and our teenage daughters in the other. Condo was clean, and the view was great. Only reason why I did not give it five stars. Is the king mattress in the master bedroom needs replaced badly. The mattress sags terribly in the middle. Other than that, the condo was great.
This condo is the perfect size for our family of six!!! Everyone had enough space to hang out and chill by themselves or all together. The ocean views were majestic and soothing. We will definitely be back again when it's not a rainy weekend.
The condo is very spacious, and well maintained. Since we had a 2 bedroom we were able to get 2 parking passes. The views from the balconies (yes, there are multiple balconies) were exceptional, especially from the one in the master suite. We would absolutely stay here again!!!
Chosen for it's location and local attractions. Called ahead to resort to see what was open (one pool & lazy river at that time, none of the inside attraction). Twice we rented umbrellas & chairs to sit out by the ocean. You can reserve these through Made in the Shade Beach Services or catch them on the beach before 5 to get your name on the list.
We had connecting rooms. Lots of space! Beautiful views of Ocean & city. One room had some air-conditioning troubles upon check in, Owner had maintenance tend to it the following day! Owner made it right with us and the rest of our stay was very comfortable. Great place to rest, relax or get outside to feel the sand on your feet!
The Ocean Walk is the best place to stay in Daytona. This condo is more space than most. All 3 balconies have amazing views. I plan to stay here every time I come to Daytona.

Problems that weren’t told upfront
I rented through VRBO from the owner or owners agent. There are hot water problems. I got 2 kind of hot showers the week I was there. Wednesday night the water was cut off to replace 2 pumps ( evidently the owners were notified of this 3 months ago and reminded a week ago). In turn, this messed with the air conditioning and a sleepless night because it was hot. The view couldn’t have been better but communication upfront with the issues would’ve be appreciated.
We had a wonderful time. The rooms were clean and well supplied with everything we needed. We brought our own bigger garbage bags and paper towels, and that was helpful. The views were beautiful and it was just the perfect fit for our family of 7. We will be back next summer for sure!
