We loved this property. Amazing location, amazing views and the property was well stocked and really well heated. Bedding could have been cleaner but the host sorted this out very quickly for us which we were really grateful for. Host was brilliant for contact and answering any questions. Would recommend this for couples, but also families!
We had a really nice few days, weather wasnt great, but its west coast of Scotland, the property is first class, everything we could want, the log burner was excellent, the little shop sold anything you need for a short stay.
Overall we had a great time in agreat wee property, in a picturesque wee village.

Thank you for your review. Weather out with my control unfortunately. Glad you enjoyed the burner.
We booked at the very last minute just before Christmas. It couldn't have gone more smoothly and surprisingly the weather was not too bad at all. Log-burning stove made everything warm and cosy. Want to go back!
We spent a lovely weekend in Liam's flat in Kames. Accommodation was great, Liam's instructions on how to reach the place perfect and his suggestions on where to eat and what to do very useful!! Pity you can't change the weather, otherwise a wonderful stay! Strongly recommend it! 😁
The property is small but has everything you need, a good use of space and a great bargain. Kames is a quaint village good for a relaxing break. Having the washing machine and cooking facilities is ideal when traveling with a young family. The view from the living space window is lovely and sat at the window seat after the kids were in bed.
We enjoyed a trip to the Tighnabruaich community forest nearby and we went swimming at portavadie twice. Dinner at the Kames hotel was delicious and I recommend. I hoped to get to ostel bay on our last day but with a 20 minute walk from the car and not the best weather I decided against it.
Liam was a great host and we will hopefully visit again.

I am glad you were able to swim in Portavadie marina. Something we missed during Covid restrictions. You must come back to visit Ostel bay. You made the correct decision if weather was bad as it can become boggy as before the sand dunes.
View through winow was impressive vbut comfort of windsow seatwas not = it needed to be a bit wider. Equipment was all in excellent condition. Sofa seemed to be designed for a different shape to me! As an avid wildlife watcherIm must have hit the wrong week! My teenage son decided to bury bhimself in his tablet and we found it difficult tomgetventhusiasm.
Brilliant little place, ideal getaway in the most beautiful surroundings. Peace and tranquillity Gu
Super simple system to book. We were late to decide on a break. Enquired on Thursday, booking accepted and confirmed on Friday. Arrived on Monday, super simple.
Very peaceful and quiet stay. Beautiful scenery and coastline. Requires a reliable car to get about, as most places to visit are a good 2 hour return journey. Ferries are expensive to get to other destinations and petrol stations are miles away. Some local restaurants selling local produce, worth a visit, but can be pricey. 2 local grocery shops, sell most things, reasonably priced.
Excellent accommodations in a beautiful unspoiled area. Cozy and clean with everything we needed. Having the village shop so close by is a big plus. Be sure to check out the Tighnabruaich Gallery and Hayshed Gallery, lots of great items to be discovered.
Check in was easy with very clear instructions. The flat was very clean and well prepared for our stay. We had everything we needed, the kitchen was especially well provided. And the woodburner was lovely. Thanks for a great stay!
Lovely stay at Liam cottage. There is a lovely couple (Annabel & Kit) who live below who were very welcoming - she offered to store our bikes in the shed which was very useful.
Cottage itself had everything you would need for a short stay. Wood supply was a little low on arrival but communication with Liam was quick and all sorted. Only thing I would mention is that the side lamp on the living area was quite abrasive - warmer ambient lighting and more of them it wouldn't go a miss.
Very enjoyable stay.

Lovely quaint apartment which was very clean and has all you need for a short stay. Bonus of a golf course 2 minutes drive away which greeted us with such amazing views including one of a paddle steamer on the Kyles of Bute … that will stay with us for a lifetime. We do recommend to book restaurants before you stay as the local ones even to the top of Lock Fyne were all booked up. Anyway we coped and would defo recommend the cottage and location.
Such a wonderful place!
Everything was perfect..the location is good to discover all the areas and highlands.
The locals are very friendly..I knew that already as have been in Scotland many times in the past..
Loam is very helpful person..we really enjoy staying in his place.
So quiet so peaceful!and the view!!!!
Can not recommend this place enough..
We ll be back soon for sure.

If you seek a little piece of Heaven on Earth; look no further....
Quite a trip to reach this little gem of peace and tranquillity; but what a stunning, soul lifting, variety of beautiful views en-route. There is a signposted viewpoint about 4 miles before reaching Tighnabruaich - stop and be enthralled.
The flat itself is modern and of high quality; the sofa-bed very comfortable. the only noise - the birds and the lapping of water on the shores of the loch below. Open the living room window fully and stare down the loch from a cosy window seat.
The landlord very supportive and amiable - emails responded to very promptly - Thank you Liam. Excellent value for money and, if possible, a place we would dearly love to revisit.
Do not miss the chance for a trip on the lovingly restored Paddle Steamer, The Waverley; a way to travel around the area and stop of for exploring of local places in regal, splendorous style.
If you are looking for a serene and detoxifying break from the mad, mad world; this is the place to find your inner peace.
Very highly recommended base to see the truly "Secret Coast of Argyll!"

Thank you for taking the time for a reflective review of your stay - I should use it in my listing.
welcome back anytime
cosy flat in traditional cottage. Has steep stair so think about packing bags to carry up stairs.Flat is well about a 100 metres down the road from a well stocked village store where you can pick up any needed groceries. Nice outside area and area is quiet but pretty with nice local walks. Drive to Kames is on a one track road but it is in very good condition haaving been recently resurfaced.
Flat itself is compact and in very good condition. It has a good bed and sofa and kitchen area has everything required for a holiday flat. It is likely that I will use this flat again

Glad you enjoyed you break away Katharine. Come back soon.
The flat was lovely, easy to find and get in. Internal stairs are steep, but i managed with arthritis. Amazing view from living room window. Loved the window seat. Amazing walks, birds to spot plentiful. Everything we needed was catered for. I would recommend this little bolt hole for a visit. Kames is just beautiful and the Kames hotel a short walk away was just the ticket when I didn’t feel like cooking.
Liam was superb with all his tips and hints. We were meant to be in Lanazarote for the second year, but this 4 day break made up for it and we will be back again. Thanks Liam.
From the start to finish excellent in every way. Last minute break for our family and Liam the owner was excellent in communication, information and support throughout the stay. Excellent accommodation, we did not need for anything. Great location, lovely area and a real good base for exploring. Great local facilities. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner.
