First visit to Looe

Three of the party were over 75, so the steps down from the bedrooms were a little hazardous, and a bathroom without a lock presented difficulties, too. Potentially a lovely flat but in need of some TLC. We were very fortunate to have excellent weather, otherwise the car-park, which was a 20 min walk from the apartment would have been more problematical. We loved Looe though.

We are sorry to see you have left a 1 star review of the property. There are two steps from the bedrooms down to the lounge area which are clearly shown in the photographs, so it is a shame that you booked with party members that these would be hazardous for. Thank you for the feedback about the bathroom lock, we can certainly ask the owners to get one fitted if this is missing, and would happily have done so whilst you were there had we known it was a problem. Perhaps the fact that we approached you about a complaint of noise disturbance left a sour taste and we are very sorry if that was the case, it was certainly approached in a way to try and prevent this.

Convenient central location

A 2 bedroomed flat in the centre of the old town of Looe, on the 1st floor of an old house though the inside feels fairly modern. This suited us very well for a week's sailing as it was very close both to the sailing club and the boat parking, as well as the local shops so we didn't need the car at all. The downsides? There's no outside space (a given with any property in the old town) and we would have preferred a washing machine (there isn't one) to a dishwasher. The second lounge/snug we hardly used though if you had two couples staying it would allow a bit of private space.

Dirty and noisy.

Sadly its not "beautiful" but pretty dirty. Took a layer of grime off the kettle and toaster with disinfectant wipes. Cooker top same. The oven has clearly never ever been cleaned. The bathroom has mould and the flooring and carpets throughout really need a deep clean. Probably due to the state of the filthy entrance stairwell, which leads in to the flat. Its also quite noisy. Not the external stuff like seagulls, but internally. Could hear every word from the flat below, and every footstep from the flat above. Tenants above were really good when it was pointed out but we could still hear them snoring at night, even with the windows closed.The location is good, just yards from the beach and amenities, and the parking permit was useful, but due to the noise and feeling constantly dirty, we left early.

OUR HOLIDAY 2019

BEEN VISITING LOOE FOR OVER 50 YRS, STAYED IN MANY HOLIDAY PROPERTIES, THIS WAS ONE OF THE LOVELIEST FLATS FOR FOUR PEOPLE WE HAVE STAYED IN. SOME OTHERS HAVE BEEN VERY SMALL. IT WAS SPOTLESS, COMFORTABLE AND HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED.
