About this property
1600s Rural Villa in Chianti with Pool and AC just a few steps from Florence
We arrived at the valley in 1987, we fell in love with the countryside and bought the first part of the hamlet with all the surrounding land, we were young and full of enthusiasm and it was here that our two daughters Daniela and Jessica were born. We have managed to re-unite all the hamlet and after 16 years of re-building we have decided to open for hospitality, but we have been trying to make there are vineyards which we have started to replace, the old ones are outdated, we need to build a wine cellar to house the wine we produce and lastly we need to re-build the chicken houses so that we will be able to sample our own produces. While our daughters were growing we created a natural garden with roses, clematis, lavender and sage. We are trying to get to the Penelope Hobhouse, or at least we will try, to the early morning, with the sound of the swallows, to admire the flight of the hot air balloons , and in our free time snooze around the pool Our origins are not from old Tuscan or noble families, and we had no roots before we arrived at the Tuscans. We are a couple who are being born, we are struck by cupid we looked for our nest, our chicks were born and we are now starting to fly from the nest with their own wings, we are happy to welcome families with chicks from all over the world .

Wonderful stay in villa with amazing pool and views
The stay was truly wonderful and our host Jessica and her family were always happy to help and very communicative. We came for our 10 year anniversary and had family and friends with kids staying at the villa with us. Everything was very clean and the accommodations were both rustic but also pretty and the kitchen was nicely stocked with pots, pans and drink and dinnerware. The pool area was beautiful and there was ample space to sit and relax and take in the view. It is also nicely situated between Florence, Siena and the coast. The only thing is that WiFi is weak in certain spots of the villa but it wasn’t a big deal for our group. I’d recommend this place anytime. Thank you to our hosts!
Overall the view was beautiful and we loved the location. We were disappointed that the rooms were broken down into different access points. Basically they were separate units with varying amenities. These ranged from kitchen or no kitchen, A/C or no A/C, or a room that is a bed only without any options in room for beverages or snacks in the room.
We would recommend that descriptions are clearly stated on the VRBO site stating what is available and what is not in each space. It was described as a whole house rental when in reality it was 4 apartments with limited amenities and 3 basic bedrooms in the back of the house. While we enjoyed our stay it was far from what I was looking for in my Italy vacation. Our room option was one of the three bedrooms with no option to snack or have beverages in the room and not directly connected to the main house. Guests needed to walk down a separate stairway to the lobby and around the house to get to the other apartments where the rest of our family was staying. This would be great if we were staying one night and moving on but staying a week - we would have made a different choice.
Limitations on pool hours seem restrictive and we experience power surges that were challenging for charging our phones and other electronic equipment. We did not experience this elsewhere in Italy.
We were a group of 15 adult family and friends staying for the week. We took over all the bedrooms in each of the individual apartments which worked well for our group. The view from the patio was mesmerizing every hour of the day. We spent many mornings and evenings enjoying it.
We cooked a number of nights and used one kitchen as our central kitchen. There were not enough utensils, glasses or plates in this one kitchen so we brought in from the other kitchens. Having this one central kitchen worked well for us.
The pool area was nice and we enjoyed this a couple days after sightseeing, (though the pool is not heated).
The wifi was a problem for our technology savvy group. It was difficult to even get emails or check in for our flights. There was always a hunt for the best spot on the property to get a signal.
Jessica and her family were great hosts. She answered my questions ahead of time and made the checkin process easy. They also cooked us a very delicious and special meal one night. They set a beautiful table on the side porch and we had a lovely celebratory night.
We loved the area around Montespertoli but bring your GPS as navigating is difficult without it.
We had a fantasitic week and would definitely return.
