Within about an hour by car you can reach Lecce, famous for its baroque, as well as wonderful Matera, another Unesco World Heritage site and location for many movies, such as Mel Gibson's "Passion of Christ". Countless beaches on both coasts (adriatic and ionian); the nearest ones can be reached in less than 30 minutes by car. And of course the food...Puglia is famous for its regional specialities, both meat and seafood and offers a great amount of restaurants and trattorias for all budgets.
