Dogs are welcome (max 2) upon payment of supplement of £15 per dog. Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture or upstairs or leave them unattended.

We suggest this property is not suitable for anyone with limited mobility due to the steps required to access the cottage from the parking area.

Children are welcome at West Wind, but please note that the rear garden is steep and there are many steps, so we recommend that children must be supervised.

The patio area at the front of the cottage is enclosed, but a very small dog may be able to get through the balustrade. The rear garden is enclosed and a hand rail follows the steps to the side of the cottage and all the way up to the seating area at the top of the garden.

A stunningly refurbished , decorated and extremely well presented Cottage , providing everything you need for a self catering holiday, and so much more. We were so delighted when we arrived, we promptly asked if we could stay longer. We were lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy the amazing views and the outside space this cottage offers.

Our stay at West Wind last week was so fantastic we were sad to go home! The cottage is newly restored and this has been done very well. Everything is new and immaculately clean. West Wind is so well kitted out with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, as well as plenty of games, books and even dvds for the kids which is great for the days you want to stay in and relax. We have two young children (6 and 1) and really appreciated the small but significant things like stair gates, a high chair and travel cot, and also plastic plates/cutlery. Having a washing machine was also really handy. Everything about the cottage was comfortable and welcoming, the homemade jam and cake on arrival was such a lovely touch. All of that aside, the views were incredible and the location is great for exploring. There is so much to see and do, which in itself makes West Wind a great choice of place to stay. We are planning on coming back next year and are already looking forward to it - thank you!

Porlock is a wonderful working Exmoor village and boasts three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional local butcher, chemist, cash machine, petrol station, hardware shop, visitor centre, several art galleries and a range of independent restaurants, shops and tea rooms.

Porlock Weir is approximately 1.5 miles from Porlock and is well worth a visit. There are restaurants, a pub, tea rooms and some independent shops, such as Exmoor Glass.

Many of the shops in Porlock and Porlock Weir are open during traditional hours of 9 am to 5 pm, although hours are often extended during the summer season. Conversely, some shops also reduce their opening hours out of season.

Minehead is the nearest town, approximately 6 miles from Porlock. Here you will find the larger supermarkets (Tesco, Lidl and Morrisons are all situated on the outskirts of the town and have long opening hours, Tesco and Morrisons also have petrol stations), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops throughout the town.
