The cottage was beautiful.
The cottage was beautiful.
It was very clean, extremely well equipped, and so welcoming after a day of forest/beach walks.
The sofas and beds were so comfortable, and it took a supreme act of will to get out of bed of a morning, as they were so comfortable and warm, (poor beds often being the stumbling block of other cottages in which we have stayed).
Due to the virus restrictions, we decided to eat-in most nights, and there was no problem finding just the utensil, or pan, we needed close at hand, whatever the dish we were cooking.
Karen was the perfect host, welcoming us on our arrival, (socially distancing of course), and helping us with things such as extra firewood for the wood burner.
The shower/bath was an absolute winner, with tons of hot water and the shower was very powerful, much better than other cottages in which we have holidayed.
Despite Karen living next door, we didn't see much of her during our stay as we had no problems to trouble her with; any minor queries we had were answered via text; and it was with a heavy heart that we said goodbye to her and the cottage on our departure.
I truly cannot speak highly enough of our stay, and would whole-heartedly recommend this wonderful cottage to anyone thinking of staying in the area.

Longcroft cottage is situated in a quiet peaceful rural setting .
Longcroft cottage is situated in a quiet peaceful rural setting . The cottage was very clean and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. If you enjoy hill walks, Bennachie is only a few miles away and can be easily reached by car or by walking from the cottage. My daughter and her husband brought their bikes along and these were stored in a secured building outside a few meters away from the cottage. Inverurie and Insch are the nearest towns only 10-15 minutes away . If you want to explore Portsoy, Cullen or Banff then it is only about a forty minute drive from the cottage. Karen the owner of the cottage was most helpful during our two week stay and provided fresh bed linen after the first week. Cannot speak highly enough about the cottage and owners and hope to visit in the spring of 2021.

Defintely a 10 all round, literally the best property we've ever stayed in and we've stayed in a good few. Comfortable, well equipped with literally EVERYTHING you could need and more. The blackout curtains in bedrooms are massive plus for anyone with young children as we discovered that lie ins are actually a myth!!! Karen was excellent with communication prior and on arrival was professional but relaxed and friendly. Nothing was toi much trouble and the fresh flowers and welcome pack were a marvellous surprise. Thank you and we look forward to staying again next year

Karen was an excellent host, making the effort to phone in advance to explain additional arrangement
Karen was an excellent host, making the effort to phone in advance to explain additional arrangements due to COVID-19. On arrival she was so friendly and welcoming, and happy to recommend places to visit. The cottage was immaculate and very comfortable. It had everything we could need, including a very well equipped kitchen. The garden was lovely - we especially liked making friends with the sheep in the adjoining field! Longcroft Cottage is in a tranquil, rural location, although just a short drive to the main road between Aberdeen and Inverness. This makes it convenient for visiting many places. One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in.

An absolutely brilliant stay at Longcroft Cottage for the week.
An absolutely brilliant stay at Longcroft Cottage for the week. Cottage had everything we could have needed for the week. Karen was lovely and the loaf of bread and milk on arrival was excellent. The Sunday breakfast at Inverurie garden centre was very yummy too. Probably our only quibble was the lack of a pub or a shop in the immediate vicinity, but Tesco/Morrison’s only a short 10/15 minute drive down the road. A fantastic base for our week of holiday-ing as it was pretty central too. We will most definitely be back in the future!

Tranquil Retreat in Oyne
Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting, an ideal base for travelling.
Quiet, very clean and every need catered for. The cottage is in a great location for exploring the area and hit the spot for our family. My youngest was always on the lookout for wildlife and we had everything from a pheasant in the garden to Alpaca's and deer around the corner. If you travelled a bit further into Oyne itself we managed to find some Highland cows (Hairy Coos). A big thanks to Karen for a warm welcome and her local knowledge and a lovely treat of a free breakfast in Inverurie to set the week off.
Definitely will stay in this lovely cottage again (If Karen will have us) *****Five Stars
