We had a lovely stay at Colvend. The cottage was warm and comfortable. Plenty of woodland walks in the area and the bird life in the garden was amazing also a visit from a young deer 🦌.
Lovely cottage set in quiet peaceful surroundings. Ideally placed for walking and coast paths. Good restaurants in New Abbey and Kippford. Everything you could possibly need in the cottage, with pleasant views. Highly recommended.

Great cottage, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and the added bonus of a barn owl next door (who we could hear but didn’t manage to see). If you like peaceful surroundings and long beach/forest walks then this is the one for you!

Loved this cottage!! Perfectly located for exploring the area. Everything you needed was provided. Lovely owner who respected your privacy but was there if you needed her - not that we did! Loved watching Damselfly's flitting past the sunny conservatory.

We spent a lovely week at Holly Cottage, the location is ideal for exploring this area of the solway coast. The cottage was clean and cosy. The garden could benefit from some outdoor lighting, especially if you have a dog. The owners of the cottage left us to it, but are available if you need them. Would definitely recommend this lovely rustic cottage to families and couples.

A really nice cottage.
A really nice cottage. My first impression was that 'I could live here'.
The double bedroom is up a steep flight of stairs, an issue for me in the morning due to arthritis.
There is a green house attached to the kitchen leading into a conservatory. Both are unheated, which wouldn't be a problem in the summer but moisture was a problem in the winter. There is a condenser which needs to be emptied every night.
The garden is enclosed, our dogs loved running around. The neighbours (the owners daughter) has a couple of large dogs that find their way in so we found ourselves cleaning up after them as well as our own dogs.
An honest review. We really loved our holiday there and would revisit.
