This charming stone-built, period holiday cottage dates back to the 1840’s and is situated in the heart of the village, midway between Craster and Alnwick. In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is perfectly located for exploring this unspoilt county and set on a Heritage Coastal route with some of the finest beaches in Britain. Within 1 mile from a secluded sandy bay and coastal walks. Nearby is the village post office. Alnwick, 4 miles, with the castle used as ‘Hogwarts’ in the Harry Potter films. Bottle of wine on arrival. Shop 200 yards, pub 1½ miles, restaurant 2 miles.

Lovely cozy cottage in a perfect location.

Lovely cozy cottage in a perfect location. Very secure for dogs in the rear courtyard. Lots of places to visit and beaches to explore. There are no pubs in the village but there is a local co-op and 2 excellent cafes within a short walking distance. Would recommend

Enjoyable week in Northumberland

Lovely well equipped cottage and owner left lots of goodies😋. Ideally situated to get to lots of interesting places. Secure front garden and small patio at rear. Didn’t see a village shop but large Sainsbury’s and Lidl within a short distance also Morrison’s in Alnwick. Will most likely return next Spring .

fantastic beautiful cottage, Very local to everything. there is a lovely walk down to the beach. when we arrived at the lovely cosy cottage we had a lovely surprise waiting for us, a very nice bottle of wine, crusty bread, milk, cheese and a lovely lemon cake. very dog friendly ???

What a fantastic cottage, we all felt at home the moment we walked through the door.

What a fantastic cottage, we all felt at home the moment we walked through the door. The beamed ceilings in the upstairs bedrooms are a bit on the low side so any tall folk might want to sleep in the lovely down stairs double bedroom!! The welcome pack is a lovely touch and the kitchen has everything you need for any length of stay. The cottage is very well situated to explore the beautiful Northumberland coast. There is a lovely beach just one mile from the cottage which can easily be reached down a track either on foot or you can take the car ( there is two gates to open and close) We are looking forward to our next visit later in the year and I would most certainly recommend this lovely cottage to anyone

This is a lovely cottage, well stocked/equipped, and well positioned as a base to explore the Northumberland coast. We had originally booked as a party of 5, but in the end were only 4. This was lucky, because although there is both bedding and sofa space for 6, as far as eating is concerned, the cottage only really accommodates 4. The table inside is tucked away in a corner at the foot of the stairs, is heavy and unwieldy to move, necessitates pushing back all the other furniture in order to make space for the - only four - chairs. The outside table also only has four chairs. A full party of 6 would have trouble dining all together comfortably. This is our only gripe in what was otherwise a very nice place to stay (for four guests).

Comfy & clean cottage.Alright for the 3 of us but would be bit tight for 6 people especially the dining table.Could do with a bit of a refresh but generally ok. Within walking distance (1mile) of lovely beach at Sugar sands & just a few hundred yards from a well stocked Co op shop. Also centrally located for access to the Northumberland coast from Amble in the south to Berwick in the north.
