Please note: This property is accessed through the owners’ garden.. Electricity, bed linen and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Anthony and Helen took over Elm Barn in May 2022 and this cosy, semi-detached cottage, Elm Barn View, is one of two let’s adjoining their home.

This semi-detached cottage has been cleverly converted to offer the perfect holiday location to relax and unwind or explore the many attractions in the area. Adjoining the owners’ home, it is set in the pretty village of Freethorpe with its own local Norfolk pub providing great food and hospitality. Also 3 miles from the riverside inns in the broadland village of Reedham, where boats can be hired and visitors can enjoy a spot of fishing or simply watch the waterborne world go by. The surrounding country lanes are ideal for walking and cycling, and nearby Breydon Water is a paradise for bird watchers. The market town of Acle is 3 miles and Winterton’s glorious beach, with its 6 mile walk offers seal watching. Cromer is famous for its seafood. The cathedral city of Norwich enjoys fine shopping and the RSPB reserves are within easy reach. Golf and fishing available locally. Beach 8 miles with seals at horsey. Shop 150 yards, restaurant 3 miles..

We had a fabulous week at Elm Barn View, it was very peaceful and picturesque. The cottage is excellent value for money and extremely well equipped, we wanted for nothing. We were lucky with the weather and were able to sit and enjoy the sunshine in the garden after our days out. It’s the perfect location for the coast and the Broads, we also discovered some interesting gardens to visit. This is our second visit to Elm Barn View and both times we have felt very relaxed and enjoyed the peaceful location that it offers. The cottage is beautifully set overlooking the owners lovely garden ..is very suitably equipped offering all the essentials that are needed..and the hosts are very accommodating. Although we were out and about visiting the many lovely places in the area it was always comforting to come back to the cottage and put your feet up and relax at the end of the day. There was even a welcome of tea,coffee,milk and biscuits on arrival.All in all a lovely place to stay. We will be returning.

The location was really good and we visited a number of lovely places, Hickling broad nature reserve, Horsey Mill, etc. The conservatory is the best feature and we enjoyed the lovely view and the sunsets. We are used to a memory foam mattress so we found the fully sprung mattress uncomfortable for us so before booking anywhere else in future we will enquire about the type of mattress provided. The local pub,the Rampant Horse was good and we ate there a couple of times.

We arrived on Friday afternoon and was greeted very warmly by the owner (Amanda). showed us to the cottage where they had left biscuits ..milk.. tea.. coffee . heating was on which gave the cottage a lovely homely feel. We settled in for the 3 nights and have never been so relaxed and comfortable. explored the area during the day around the broads returning early evening for a relaxing end to the day. View from the cottage/conservatory was breath taking as the garden was beautiful.. In the evening all we could here were the black birds singing. all in all a lovely weekend in lovely surroundings . we will definitely be retuning.

Overhaul this cottage was average, I found two bottle tops on a tray on the table, so decided to clean the tray as it was full of dust. Two small pans were very greasy on the outside but clean inside, I was also not happy with the cutlery and the cutlery drawer. Everything else was clean which was a shame.
