Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds, (Accessed Via Bedroom 1) Ensuite Wet Room: Shower, Toilet, Grab Rail. Wi-Fi included.. Set on the fringes of the charming town of Chipping Sodbury, these two attractive and well appointed barn conversions enjoy pleasant views and a rural location on a working farm. The myriad attractions of the Cotswolds and Forest of Dean are nearby, Badminton is just 3 miles whilst Bristol and the Roman city of Bath are both only 12 miles. Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust, Westonbirt Arboretum, the beautiful Wye Valley and Dyrham Park (NT) are all easily accessible. Cardiff and Longleat are each around one hour away. Walkers will delight in the proximity of both the Cotswold and Monarch Ways. Golf, tennis and swimming are found locally. Shops and pubs serving food 1 mile.. Both properties: Oil central heating (£10per week October-March). Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot and highchair. Freezer (shared with owner). Garden with sitting out area and garden furniture. Private parking. No smoking.

We've stayed there twice now and are going back in less than a month, Colin and Mary are lovely people, the cottage is fantastic, peace and quiet if you want and so close to shops and Tourist attractions are many and you don't have to travel a great distance, go into Chipping Sodbury, it's a lovely town.

Very nice very clean property. Lovely owners the only downside which isn't really a downside most vrbo places we have stayed leave a little welcome treat like cake and milk. But had a lovely stay

The accommodation was delightful. Check in was great and we enjoyed our stay. I did feel there were a couple of things that could be improved. An update of pillows, bed linen and towels. If I were in the area I would be pleased to stay again .

Bluebell cottage

Communication with owners was quite last minute and owner was unsure which cottage we had booked. The confirmation email just said your stay in chipping Sodbury? The owner did say his wife was very poorly. Cleanliness wasn’t of the standard we normally expect, stained cups in the cupboard, cob webs needed cleaning up. That said we had a good time.

The cottage is very well placed for local amenities but still out in the country. It is characterful and homely. Towels were not provided at the property but this may have been due to Corona virus. There is no wifi at the property which was a shame as this would have improved the rating to a 9. Some of the crockery was old and a bit chipped so could do with replacing. This cottage is promoted with wet rooms and ramp etc as being suitable for wheelchair users and is absolutely NOT! There are two excellent bedrooms each with generous well equipped ensuites but unfortunately there is a step down to one and TWO steps up to the other!!! We struggled for a week into the smaller twin bedded room with ONLY one step to negotiate to the loo. The lovely double bedroom was useless to us with TWO steps up to it. I have been trying since we returned to get cottages.com to have the steps referred to in the description, eventually they included the step down to the twin room but have yet to include the TWO steps to the spacious double. For the able bodied the cottage would be excellent and I have reflected this in my ratings.The only disappointment for us was the walled garden giving us no views of the lovely surrounding countryside.

An attractive spacious cottage, well converted from a former farm building.

An attractive spacious cottage, well converted from a former farm building. It's approximately 20 minutes walk from Chipping Sodbury and its shops, pubs and restaurants. We found it easy to travel to a variety of attractions (including National Trust properties) or to Bath and Bristol. The owners live close by and were pleasant and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would have preferred to have a dishwasher and Wi-Fi, but managed quite well without them. As a wheelchair user I have just a couple of niggles: the inset doormat in the hall and the level change from the hall into the twin bedroom caused me some issues. I would have liked the grab rails in the wet room to be placed much closer to the shower and handrails on the wall near the toilet would have been beneficial. There are 2 steps up to 1 of the bedrooms. The ramp into the entrance is a temporary metal one.

This is our second year staying at Bluebell Cottage and it proved to be as delightful as our first. The peaceful setting, facilities and adjacent parking, make it a wonderful place in which to relax & unwind. Also, being close to Chipping Sodbury is a bonus. The owners are very friendly, accommodating and are onsite if there any problems. We certainly will be returning.
