Local area and things to do.
The last week in June each year is Feast Week in Mevagissey, when there are celebrations in the streets and a whole range of family entertainment to join in.
Within a 10 minute drive are Gorran Haven (a family friendly beach with some amenities and toilets), Hemmick Beach (beautiful and unspoilt) Vault (a bit more remote) and Caerhays Beach (also with some amenities and toilets and a castle)
For those who want to venture further afield there is the Roseland peninsula, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Other places to visit within an hour are St. Mawes, Padstow, Newquay, Wadebridge, Falmouth, Truro and Watergate Bay. Mevator s position makes it ideally situated for exploring both the North and South coasts, each with something different to offer.
The Eden Project is nearby, around a 20 minute drive away. The Lost Gardens of Helligan (including the excellent Lobbs Farm Shop which sells a wide range of local, organic produce) is only a 10 minute drive away.
Public transport
St Austell s mainline station provides a direct link to London Paddington with a journey time of approximately 4 hours. There are regular bus services from St Austell to Mevagissey.
