Check in was great and easy. Communication with property manager was quick and easy. Landscape was nice. However everything else about the property was not so great. Television slightly bigger than an iPad screen... plastic lining sheets... ( made it very difficult to sleep. Like layin on a bed made of grocery bags). Constant noises outside of all kinds. (Like the feds were getting set up to do a raid next door). Hot tub was a community hot tub about a hundred yards away from our cabin. And with the cleanliness of the cabin we feared to even consider getting into it. Stains on the walls and carpet like if someone was working on a science experiment. We had to use a very small used sponge to re"clean" the dishes that we used before we used them. Got bit by a couple of bugs during sleep. My husband had huge welts along his arms. It is not a place in its current condition that we would recommend.

Dear Magen,
I'm usually not answered small issues, but this time i have to do so, all of your complaints are faults.
1. the hot tub is 25 yard away.
2. the TV screen is 35".(normal size for small room)
3, we use Regulars bedspread Lining (NOT PLASTIC).
4. we cannot control the neighbors noised, (if you call us we will let them know and you didn't).
5.we don't have carpets only hardwood flooring, sorry.
6.we are located in the countryside (woods) if you leave the door open even for a second you may get bugs in (we cannot control that also),
7. last, your option it imported to us but please be accurate so the next guest get the right pictures, Thanks
for staying with us.

Pecan Cabin Stay
The cabin was adequate. We were disappointed that the listing showed alpacas onsite and there weren't any. The home was clean with exception of the bathtub, which had a lot of brown ick in it. I sent a picture to the host and never got a response.

Obsessed! Cant wait to return!
I really wasn't expecting much...however, I loved EVERYTHING about this stay.
The neighbors were friendly. The property manager did over and beyond to make sure we were comfortable (including bringing bug spray/ essentials late into the evening). The cabin was cozy and clean. And the cherry on top was walking to our favorite nearby winery.
If you don't stay here you are missing out. :)

Nice location, but expensive for what you get
Let me start by saying the property that the cabin is located on is beautiful. Nice property with a playground and lots of shady trees. Owner was so sweet to show us where to go, because it was hard to find.
The cabin itself feels quite dated and a bit unclean to be completely honest. We found stray hairs in the bathroom and bed, and the bathtub was dirty. There were two TVs, but no cable or way to watch anything on them from what we could figure out.
The bed was comfortable, and the area was very peaceful. If the stay was half the price, we may have recommended it. For us though, the value just was not there.

A family vacation we won't forget!
Everything about Mendelbaum Cabins surpassed my expectations from the moment we arrived. The property manager was highly responsive and the cabin was well equipped. My husband and I stayed there with our children (ages 4 and 6). As soon as we got up every morning, the kids ran to the playscape while my husband and I enjoyed coffee on the porch. At night, we roasted hot dogs and s'mores by the fire pit and stared up at the stars. It felt like we were far away from it all. (I also highly recommend you check out Mendelbaum Cellars (the winery adjacent). We got some excellent wine to enjoy during our stay.)
Our family enjoys outdoor activities and during our visit we spent a day at Pedernales State Park and a day at Enchanted Rock. The cabin was only 30 minutes from each, so it was a perfect location. It's also situated right along the wine trail within minutes of some of my favorite wineries. It was a great family vacation, but I also plan to return for a couples weekend with my hubby or enjoy a girls weekend. The cabins are suitable for any occasion. We can't wait to return!

Horrible Experience
This is probably the worst place I have ever stayed. It was misrepresented in the online listing. Overgrown shrubs, lock hard to access property, bathroom "door/accordion door" broken, showerhead drips(no water),sink hot water a slow stream, smells, bed had big gap in the middle, lots of light fixtures non existent, one washrag/ towel,no soap/body wash, dining room chairs broken/frayed,blinds broken, front door inside looked like a dog had chewed it. The pictures online were taken in 2018. Property owner offered me a glass of wine for all the issues.

we tried to accommodate this guest, everything we offer includes fixing what she complaints about includes relocation to a deferent cabin did not help, we offer her some money back that did not help,
No address was sent to us. Had to stop at winery to confirm location. Front porch was nasty with bird poop all over table and chairs. Employee came over from winery and blew off porch after we mentioned how dirty it was. Awful mattress. Commode didn’t flush. Same employee fixed it. Couldn’t get tv to work in bedroom. Accordion door going into bathroom was ripped from top to bottom. Very uncomfortable quarters. No character whatsoever. Had potential if cared for.

sorry if this what you feel, the location address is right above the cabin name when you log in to your VRBO account, sent you the door code via VRBO, regarding the Commode, we are in the country sometimes we do have issues with water pressured and septic system, not sure regarding the mattress, we did not have any complaint regarding this issue.
Thanks,

Location was great. There were a few things which didn’t disrupt our stay and I sent a message to the owner about. One thing I did forget to mention was there was no iron/board. Not sure if bed was actually a queen as it felt like a full size. Would stay here again as long as those items mentioned in the email get fixed.

Beautiful, peaceful, right in the wilderness
The property was well maintained and very well kept. The owners were amazingly kind and very attentive. The landscaping was beautiful and the cabin was extremely cozy. The experience was well worth it! I highly recommend visiting the South Grape Creek right by the cabins. It’s beyond words beautiful! I’ll definitely be back for my next vacation!

Well maintained cabins and property, we’ll be visiting again!
The property is absolutely (especially in the spring time when we visited!) and the small cabin we stayed in was very clean and the host was very welcoming.
The guests behind us were quite rowdy late into the night, but that isn’t any fault of the host.
I would appreciate an upgrade in the bed (it seems like a regular mattress on top of an air mattress instead of a traditional box spring?)but other than that, it’s a great value!
