About this property

Beautiful Le Coutal - Private Pool - Dordogne

We have a beautiful country house in a tranquil, peaceful valley in Berbiguieres, overlooking a walnut orchard. Yet we are only a few minutes drive from Beynac, Saint Cyprien, Belves and much more.

The house contains a fully equipped indoor and outdoor kitchen, furnished living room with dining area and views of the beautiful woodland and garden from every window.

The living area has direct access onto the terrace where you can sit, relax and enjoy the views and the peacefulness of the property.

Alternatively the 40” smart TV gives you access to the internet and films/French TV.

The ground floor also contains a toilet, a large hallway with seating and an additional outside kitchen just opposite the built in barbecue (a great room in which to enjoy breakfast in the early morning sunshine or for a shaded lunch when the mid-day sun gets hot).

Under the terrace you will find a laundry room with washing machine, sink and clothes airer.

The first floor has two bedrooms each with a king size bed. One of the rooms has a small en-suite shower room with full size shower and basin and views to the swimming pool and garden. Also there is a large landing with chairs and a selection of books, games and a bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet.

On the second floor there is a triple bedroom. Please note the second floor bedroom is accessed through one of the first floor king size bedrooms and contains a double bed and a single bed with views over the swimming pool and the woodland.

Egyptian cotton bed linen, bath towels, pool towels and tea towels are included. We have a complimentary travel cot and high chair available for our younger guests.

The house is traditionally built in Perigourdine style with stone and beams and is surrounded by a 5000m² garden where you will find many oak trees, beautiful flower borders and a large expanse of lawn. There are a couple of steep slopes within the garden due to it being on a hill where young children may need accompanying.

The swimming pool (8 metres by 4 metres) is open from the beginning of June to the end of September, with sun loungers and parasols for relaxation.

In the woodland area we have a hammock, ideal for an afternoon snooze.

There is plenty of parking available for at least 3 vehicles.

Le Coutal is a fantastic base for a holiday in the Dordogne. The house is extremely well equipped with everything you would need. It is an ideal location to experience everything the area has to offer and it offers a perfectly private family retreat. We couldn't fault it!

A beautiful house immersed in nature

Perfection in a secluded rural setting among woodland and orchards but with every modern comfort including the idyllic pool. The terrace is a beautiful spot for outdoor lounging and dining.

Beautiful House

We stayed for 1 week at Le Coutal. It is a beautiful house with a lovely swimming pool. It is in the most pleasant and quiet part of the Dordogne with lots to go and explore or just stay at the house and relax by the pool, or in the hammock in amongst the trees. Communications with Bev & Chris were excellent and lots of information provided about local markets etc. We loved it.

The impression we had on leaving was the same as on arrival. It’s a beautiful villa in a secluded quiet setting but not too far from local amenities. The villa was clean comfortable and well maintained, Bev and Chris had thought of everything and Jacqui was close at hand for information and assistance.

Gorgeous house, fabulous hosts

We loved this house. It was in such a pretty area. Very restful, but only a short distance to St Cyprien for shopping, cafes, Sunday morning market etc. The house had everything we needed. The pool area was so nice, and the vine covered terrace overlooking the valley was a perfect spot for lunch and dinner. Bev and Chris were extremely proactive when we needed any help and they made the whole holiday very relaxing for us. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Amazing, caring hosts. Thank you both. I highly recommend Le Coutal.

Relaxing break at Le Coutal

We had a lovely week long break at Le Coutal. The house is very well located in a small village just a short drive from all of the main attractions that the Dordogne has to offer. Plenty of parking on the long drive next to the well equipped private pool. The house is very well presented and has everything you might need during your visit. The terrace is lovely at any time of the day but particularly after sunset and the outdoor kitchen makes for a wonderful location for shared meals and a barbecue of an evening. The local host Jacqui and the owners Bev & Chris were good with communication making sure that everything was ok before and during our stay. Overall an amazing place to stay and we would highly recommend, just wish we could have stayed longer.

Prima verzorgd huis op fraaie locatie

Wij — nu 70 — hebben al 45 jaar lang diverse huizen in de Dordogne gehuurd. Weten dus wat er te huur is en bij Vrbo goede ervaringen opgedaan. Deze woning ligt op een stille, mooie plek. De woning is meer dan compleet ingericht en van alles ruim voorzien. Wij deelden de woning met onze vrienden. Er was een kamer met eigen complete badkamer. De andere kamer had het toilet beneden in de hal (wisten we ) maar de badkamer was super mini. Niets voor 70 mensen, jammer.Het zwembad was super schoon en zeer verzorgd !!!Ik zou op de 2e verdieping een mooie badkamer bouwen.Contact met de eigenaren super en aankomstinfo correct.

In 2016 we achieved one of our dreams to buy and renovate a property in the Dordogne area of France. We love our little piece of heaven in Berbiguieres and we hope you will too.

We are in the middle of the countryside yet are only a few minutes drive from beautiful villages with shops and restaurants. When at Le Coutal you can feel the stresses of everyday life slipping away, the area is stunning and our neighbours are very friendly.

What makes this property unique

You have your own private pool and huge gardens to walk around. The scenery is absolutely stunning and so peaceful. The house is not far from the many attractions of the Dordogne.
