In the warmer summer months, the house is less than 1 mile from Plainfield Pond, with a kid-friendly sandy beach, or simply swim in the lake behind the house. Float down the Deerfield River which runs along the historic Mohawk Trail on our inner tubes, play croquet on the lawn, BBQ on the patio, or use the kayaks and standup paddleboard behind the house (and life-jackets). Historic Deerfield and Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory are 30 minutes drive.
Less than 15 minutes to Berkshire East for skiing in the winter which runs New England's zipline canopy tours in the summer called Zoar Outdoor. As well, Moxie or Crabapple Rafting organize rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, zipline tours, etc.
We are not too far from the Mohawk Trail State Forest, Bridge of Flowers, Ashfield Lake or even the 'sister colleges'.
