Set in the owner's lovely, cottage garden, 19 Blue is a little oasis in this pretty suburb so close to the beach and other attractions.

19 Blue is a one bedroom, self-contained holiday cottage situated in the lovely beach-side suburb of Blackmans Bay. It has a folding cot and bedding which can accommodate up to a 2 year old child. Just fifteen minutes from Hobart, it makes an ideal base for all your Southern Tasmanian tourism destinations.

So many guests describe 19 Blue as "A home away from home" !

19 Blue has been furnished and equipped with love and care: homely country style furniture with lots of little extras much appreciated by guests. Homemade soap in the bathroom. You can even buy Soap and Body Care Products and some lovely jams and chutneys made by the owners.

A verandah runs the full length of the back of the cottage which overlooks Blackmans Bay. A private deck, at the front, makes an ideal place for a relaxing drink or a sunny morning breakfast. The cottage overlooks the owner's vegetable garden from which you may pick vegetables for your own needs. At present there are two pademelons (small wallabies) delighting our guests........

Parking is off street.

19 Blue is fully equipped with a queen size bed and laundry facilities. The kitchen has a cooktop and microwave oven.

The laundry has a washing machine with a tub dry feature then you only need to hang your washing out on the line or over the clothes airer for a short time.

We provide a loaf of homemade bread on arrival! You will find free range eggs from the owner's chooks, muesli or Weetbix. Leaf Tea or tea bags, ground coffee or instant.

The cottage is well insulated with double glazing. Heating is a reverse cycle heat pump keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer.

The lounge area has a television/DVD player with magazines and a folder with day trip itinerary suggestions. CD's and a good range of DVD's are provided as are board games.

The Bayview Shopping centre is just down the road with a newsagency, pharmacy, doctor's surgery, supermarket, takeaway and other specialty shops.

Blackmans Bay beach is a ten minute walk away where you will find 2 excellent restaurants: The Beachouse and Jack Loves Red. Also Bombay in the Bay for the BEST Indian food!

Kingston Beach is about ten minutes' walk away, in the other direction, which has a cafe strip and other shops. Both beaches have lovely cliff-top walks.

19 Blue is central for all the major tourist destinations; the Huon Valley, D'Entrecasteaux Channel with the ferry over to Bruny Island just twenty minutes drive away. Port Arthur is around one and a half hour's drive. Hobart with all that our lovely capital city has to offer just a short drive in.

The country or the city, mountain and beach are right on your doorstep at 19 Blue.

Beautiful restful stay

Absolutely delightful

A beautiful welcome of delicious bread, with butter and homemade jam. Handmade soap in the shower was a lovely touch. The 'Alice's' were gorgeous. Judith and Chris are wonderful hosts.

We like to give our guests a really homely welcome and everyone seems to love the homemade bread and jam. The "Alices" for those who are wondering, are our four chickens who provide the eggs guests are given. Guests are welcome to come down, visit them and save their food scraps for them. We loved our stay at 19 Blue! Such hospitable thoughtful hosts and there wasn't one thing to fault. Loved the fresh homemade bread and jam, and the fresh eggs and bacon. What a Gem!

Spent 10 days at 16 Blue and loved every minute of it. Cute, compact little cottage, very private with a beautiful garden. 10 out of 10 for our hosts, Judith and Chris, in providing the personal touches that make a property special. It was a lovely haven to return home to after a day of exploring. Blackmans Bay Beach is beautiful, as is the next bay across, Boronia Beach, both within easy walking distance. Would throughly recommend.

This is a lovely quiet place to stay; close to family, to Blackmans Bay, and with easy access to the city. It is quiet, comfortable in a very pleasant garden. The hosts are friendly and helpful. What more could one ask?

My daughter and I stayed here and it was perfect for the 2 of us. It was nice and warm and had everything we needed.It also had a terrific view which I enjoyed every morning while having my morning coffee. The homemade touches Judith put in the property were lovely. Highly reccommended.

What a wonderful stay we had at 19 Blue! The cottage was beautifully appointed, so very comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtfulness that had gone into the needs of the traveller. The generous provision of breakfast items was most welcome. We especially loved the peaceful setting, the trees and cottage garden, the bird life to observe, and of course, the chooks! A wonderful stay!

We recently gave ourselves a short break from grandparent activities and had a most wonderful stay at 19 Blue. The location suited us perfectly: a short zippy trip into Hobart, and easy access to Bruny Island, Cygnet and southern bays and forests. In addition 19 Blue is gorgeous; lovely garden with cornflowers and Cecil Brunner roses together with home bottled fruit and organic broad beans to pick. Loved the chooks too, didn't have to waste any food scraps. The cottage is really comfortable and set up with such care and consideration. Hosts Judith and Chris are friendly, caring and absolutely considerate. We'd love to return.

All the amenities are first class and there's nothing you could want for - this is just a perfect home from home. We were very happy with our choice of 19 Blue for our Tasmanian holiday. We arrived late in the evening and were welcomed into a warm and inviting dwelling. Breakfast supplies meant we did not have to rush to the shops. We found that all our basic needs were covered and we enjoyed the little luxury touches. Our hosts were most caring and willing to help in any way possible.

We love hosting our cottage of which we are very proud. We put a lot of love & care into making your stay comfortable & just that little bit different. 19 Blue is furnished with eclectic things all combining to give a country feel. The home made bread & jam plus eggs from our own chooks are delicious! You are welcome to come down & visit the chooks & bring them your food scraps & also pick any, in season, fruit & veggies from our garden. 19 Blue is the very opposite of a slick, bland, hotel chain! It has character & soul... You can purchase our own jams & chutneys plus our lovely homemade soaps too which make lovely holiday gifts.
We respect your privacy but are also on hand to help & advise & welcome you down for a cuppa or glass of wine if you are the sociable types!!

Why they chose this property

19 Blue is just that bit different so satisfies those who are looking for a holiday cottage with a Country Vibe! It is set in a lovely garden and has views over Blackmans Bay. Despite being just fifteen minutes from Hobart it has a rural feel to it with beaches and the bush just minutes away. It stands at the gateway to the Huon Valley and the D'Entrecasteaux Channel and is just twenty minutes drive away from the Bruny Island Ferry Terminal.
Yet, it also offers local cafes, shops and amenities such as doctors, a library and hairdressers.
The trendy Kingston Beach is only two minutes down the road.
Your hosts, Judith and Chris Cornish are caring and friendly and you will find a brilliant Information Folder with suggestions for day trips to do in the area. Our many Reviews on different websites all bear testimony to 19 Blue and its charms. We look forward to welcoming YOU soon.
