Relax on the huge deck and enjoy the panoramic views over the Tangalooma Wrecks and the beautiful clear waters and white sandy beaches of Moreton Island from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast.

You can walk to the Resort using the bush steps close to the house, drive down in your 4WD and park in the Southern Car Park. Whichever way you go it only takes a few minutes to the beach.

4 seater golf buggy may be available for hire (conditions apply) and a security bond.

Moreton Island and Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort

Moreton Island is the 3rd largest sand island in the world and it is well worth exploring this unique and beautiful island by 4WD. Visit the Blue Lagoon, Champagne Pools, and Honeymoon Bay for a swim, the Desert for sand boarding and Cape Moreton to watch the turtles, dolphins and giant rays feeding in the shallows under the Cape and the whales passing by on their annual migration north in winter.

Take your own picnic or drop into the infamous "Gutter Bar" (for drinker men with a fishing problem!) for some fresh Moreton Bay oysters followed by a burger and a beer before heading off to find the Thong Tree. Micat has a great little shop at Bulwer which serves delicious meals. Don't miss the climb (medium grade) up Mt Tempest on a good day for unbelievable 360 degree views.

Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort and all its facilities and activities are available for our guests such as pools, cafes, bars, water sports and quad bikes just to name a few. They also organise island tours, whale watching, snorkeling at the Wrecks, eco tours and of course the famous dolphin feeding (available only on request and availability but guests can listen to the commentary and watch the feeding from the jetty just a few metres away and absolutely free).

Getting Here

Being an island the only way to get here is by boat which takes just over an hour.

WITHOUT 4WD
Tangalooma passenger jets run from Pinkenba to Moreton Island several times a day and you can book through the resort website. Once you arrive at the Resort a taxi takes you and your luggage to the house only a few minutes away.

BY 4WD
Being a sand island with sand tracks instead of bitumen, the only way round is by 4WD. The MICAT is the only vehicle ferry that goes to Moreton and so it is important to book early in peak times. It departs from the Port of Brisbane at Lytton and drops you off at the Tangalooma Wrecks and then it is a 15 minute scenic drive through the middle of the island to get to the house. We cannot put into words how incredible our stay was and the dealings/communication with Helen and her family. Not to mention the extra effort put in for the small creature comforts left at the home for us! The home, was unbelievable and we cannot wait to book our next trip again. Beautiful house in a great location

Beautiful house in a great location close to the beach. Helen went above and beyond to make sure we were all well catered for. We had use of the buggy for easy access to local cafes and shops. Kids and family had a wonderful time. Absolutely lovely place to stay and we’ll definitely be back!

Perfect for everyone

My partner and I enjoyed four nights at Helen's place and loved every minute. The house is perfect for families or couples, and has everything you'd need at your fingertips. A short walk down stairs and youre on the beach at Tangalooma Resort. Thanks Helen!

What a great little beach house. Really close to the beach and the Tangalooma Resort. It’s really well equipped, has lots of space for a family. The golf buggy was such a great addition as the stairs are a bit challenging.

We loved staying at this property. It was well appointed and had excellent views. We chose to use the buggy, which was great for easy trips too and from the beach. We enjoyed having access to the resort but staying just a bit further away. More privacy and incredible views. Hosts are delightful and really helpful. Keen to stay here again some day.

Stunning house with spectacular views. This really was a home away from home. You needed to bringing only beach towels and food, everything else was provided for our week stay. The house is huge and there was plenty of space for everyone. Would recommend.

Relaxing Family Holiday

We've stayed at Tangalooma over 10 times, however this was our first time in a house on the hill above the resort and Blue Moon did not disappoint. We had a relaxing and really enjoyed time with our family. Blue Moon is extremely well equipped and offers spacious open plan living, with amazing views. Helen & Philippe have a fabulous property and were fantastic hosts. We'll definitely be back!

View to die for!

Glorious home with full elevated views from open air balcony of crystal clear blue water and Tangalooma wrecks and beaches. Use of golf buggy for elderly mum to visit the resort was welcome. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed in one of the guest houses for school holidays in 2021 and we fell in love with Moreton and the Blue Moon Beach House. The rest is history as they say!
