Time for Truckee! Summer and Ski Condo in Tahoe-Donner

Great location! 500 ft to the Northwoods Clubhouse at the stop light in Tahoe Donner. Less than a mile to Coyote Moon Golf Course. 10 min drive to Donner Lake. 10 min bike ride to Old town Truckee. 20 min drive to Lake Tahoe. 20 min drive to Squaw Valley and Northstar Resorts. So much to do, so easy to get to!

In addition to all of the outdoor recreational activities, there are also loads of rec amenities that are offered with the place, for a daily fee of $20/person. Children under 6 are free. You will need to use the guest passes to access this. Amenities include full fitness center with free weights, cable machines, various cardio machines, pools, hot tubs, and lots more.

Dedicated parking is available in the garage however height of vehicle and any racks should not exceed 79". The garage can accommodate 2 SUVs (4Runners for reference). There are 2 spaces in the communal parking area on a first come, first served basis. Please do not block the neighbors garages!

Driving

Traveling in the winter months can be difficult, depending on the weather. Heavy snow storms are not uncommon. All-wheel drive vehicles with all season tires are HIGHLY recommended for winter / spring months, and a back up set of chains isn’t a bad idea. Please check the weather and road conditions before traveling to and around the area. Bring water and snacks when driving in the Sierras!

Driveway parking can be somewhat difficult in the winter and its availability is really weather dependent, if there is a snowfall or not. we have a snowplow service that plows the driveway automatically, when it snows a few inches. There can be delays in getting the driveway plowed, so it is really recommended to have AWD and all season tires to get in and out of the driveway. Shovels are located in the garage, if you need them, but you shouldn’t if you have AWD.

Please remember, if it snows, you'll need to park your car in the garage. If there is snow on the driveway, it CANNOT be in the driveway. There is overhead storage in the garage for any roof boxes that you might have, as well as racks for snowboards and skis.

***Power outages are also common in the mountains during any season as from time to time, trees fall on power lines. This is something we cannot prevent nor control and is part of the possibility while renting in the mountains.


Donner Lake is a great nearby option to play in the water. The state park is open!

When its HOT!
There is a whole house fan that works really well in the early evening, when its starts to cool down outside, but it is still warm inside. The idea behind it is that it sucks warm air out of the house, from above a vent in the kitchen, which draws in cool air from the outside through the windows. Please use the Fan as it works the best and the fastest. The control is on the wall inside the Laundry room. There's a high / low speed, and a timer. When using the fan, make sure to open windows. The best way to cool things down, is to open the bedroom windows and turn on the fan, leaving the bedroom doors open. It should cool things down quickly.
