About this property

Beachside Cottage in great location, only 30min from CBD

The 2 BR cottage is a simple retreat with direct access to a safe beach for walking, exploring and all water activities. The beach is in front of the cottage.

The kitchen has a pantry, fridge/freezer, hotplates, toaster, electric jug and crockery. The bathroom has a combined shower over bath, with toilet and washing machine.

The main bedroom has a double bed, and small walk-in robe. The second bedroom has 3 bunks, with storage under the bunks and on shelving.

The outside deck is large and overlooks the water. A sun umbrella and outside chairs are provided.

Where.
The Cottage is on the main beach at Opossum Bay, which is 30-40minute drive from Hobart CBD, and 40 minutes from Hobart Airport. The public bus route goes past the Cottage.

To Do.
There is also easy access to heritage and trail walks, plus the surfing and fishing ares of the South Arm/ Opossum bay peninsula.

BBQ and playground are 100m South of the Cottage.

Restaurants.
The General Store is open 7 days for groceries and takeaways. It is 200m walk South from the Cottage.

There is a restaurant, Bar, pizza at South Arm which is 7km South from the Cottage.

Great little spot if you want to be in a quiet little town right on a pristine white beach with superb views of the derwent river and mount wellington. We were greeted by 2 dolphins about 5m off the shore as we entered the front door. Place was clean, neat and tidy and had everything you need. Host was great to deal with and nothing was a hassle at all. We’re heading back soon. Thanks.

We had a very nice stay at opossum bay. The view from the front was amazing. Bed was very comfortable and the whole layout was good. The only negative is: that it would be good if a handrail was installed for pathway to the property. Overall we had a lovely time

Second Stay, Same Beautiful Location

The second time we have stayed at this great little property, and once again it delivered the goods. Steve is easy and great to deal with and the little cottage is perfect for a relaxing getaway. Positioned absolute beachfront, you can’t beat the location. Would recommend highly.

Cute little house with reasonably steep descend to the house. Amazing views. Single beds are suited for children more than adults. Overall a good place to stay. Very neat & tidy

Thank you for your feedback James. The location is awesome, and we are fortunate that our small, cute, cottage sitting meters from the beach. We have been careful to keep its original position and size to reflect the original character of Opossum which was historically a seaside shack beach. Our cottage is nestled in amongst carefully managed native bush and creeper to minimise our impact on this fragile beachside space. The rental price @$50 per night per person, and $40 clean fee would be considered modest. You are welcome to visit again.
