‘Elanora’ – An Aboriginal word meaning: Home by the Sea….

Elanora is an adorable coastal boho styled home, with a cute little Bungalow out the back!! It offers a light filled dining area with open plan kitchen and living area, overlooking an outdoor deck with a Ziggy BBQ to feed and entertain with family and friends….all whilst the kiddies play in the sandpit in the fully fenced off yard….so dust off those sandy feet, grab a beer or a cheeky rose' for the ladies and relax!

Elanora is a family home with 3 generous bedrooms, 1 with a queen size bed and 2 bedrooms with a double bunk with the single bed on top. Elanora also has a little bungalow out the back that has a queen bed and a queen size pull out sofa bed. There is also a porta cot, highchair and stroller to use throughout your stay.

Only a few minutes in the car to the beach (for some surfing), to the river (for some Stand up paddle boarding), to restaurants (for some delicious food), to some of Bellarine’s finest wineries (for some long boozey lunches), or the main street (for a coffee and a stroll)– there is plenty to do in OG all year round..

Within 25 minutes you could be at Torquay, Point Lonsdale, Queenscliffe, Geelong and Portarlington. In just over an hour by car you can also do day trips over to Lorne and explore the Great Ocean Road. There is also the 45 minute ferry over to Sorrento from Queenscliffe which is a great fun day trip.

At Elanora the bathroom has a shower, toilet and bath. The ensuite has a shower and toilet, with the Bungalow also having a shower and toilet. Elanora has Central gas heating and air-conditioning unit, which maintains year round climate control. The kitchen is fully equipped for your stay with dishwasher, microwave, gas cook top, crockery and cutlery and glasses. Quilts and pillows, sheets and towels provided.

We found the property to be not cleaned properly, particularly the bungalow. Main bathroom had mould on caddy and shower curtain - unhealthy! Pantry and fridge had food stuffs left there. Both bbqs were putrid! On a positive note, the beds were very comfortable and facilities for a family holiday were very good. Living areas were well appointed and catered well for our group of three generations. Lots of room for parking and a secure yard were a bonus.

Having the secured gate with space for the 3 cars, bikes, surfboards etc was fabulous, house has cute feels & decor, nice little touches water in fridge, ample cooking utensils and allowed us to check in early. We would definitely stay again 🙏

Communication was great, up until the day of check in but we have not heard a word since receiving the access/checkin details (which I had to request). The property needs a lot of maintenance - door handles coming off, leaking gas on the bbq, broken blinds, broken towel rails etc. we had to buy the following as there was none: dish cloths, scrubbing brush, kitchen cloths, oven gloves, garbage bags, dishwasher tablets and pegs for the washing line. There is no tumble dryer so pegs are really necessary! There was nothing to clean the barbecue with. If you want hot water in the outside shower you have to turn it on, then go to the sink and turn the hot on and then off and only then will hot water come out of the shower. Only one bedside table next to each of the double beds. The lamps are missing bulbs. The roof in the bungalow leaks in 3 places. Whilst the place is nicely located and styled well the focus appears to be on form, not function and it isn’t a very practical place to spend a long time in. We also had the mother of the owner show up four days before our stay was due to end saying that she was there to stay. My partner had to show her our reservation details. Despite this we have had no communication from the owner. Disappointed.

A lovely relaxing getaway

We had a wonderful stay at Elanora... the kids bedrooms had everything and more (toys, beautifully decorated) and the living and kitchen area were great for staying in in cold weather.

Great place for a family

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is well appointed and having a bbq and a drink on the deck is very relaxing. The bungalow is fantastic and a great space for teenagers. I would highly recommend this property.

What makes this property unique

Elanora has the most relaxing feeling, wether it be a chilled book on the couch over looking the deck and sandpit or the floor to ceiling windows that brings in all that gorgeous natural light. It is also close to the main strip in Ocean Grove to enjoy all the shops and places to eat. It’s also close to the beach and the Barwon river..... not to mention the 10 minute drive to the biggest water park in Victoria, Adventure Park!
