Contemporary country home set on 10 acres. Nestled in sunny Lyonville, Wombat Edge comfortably sleeps up to 11 guests across 3 bedrooms and 2 additional sofa beds. The property is surrounded by beautiful gardens and lawns, boasting a spring-fed lake that attracts local wildlife. A number of bikes are provided for lodgers interested in riding through the Victorian countryside. Cycle down to the historic RedBeard Bakery in Trentham, where tours and workshops offer first-hand insight into their traditional culinary practices.

Wombat Edge is all about space and comfort. The interior largely consists of airy, open-plan spaces, illuminated by the natural light streaming in through windows and glass sliding doors.

The living and dining areas blend modern style with rustic country living. Vibrant hardwood floors and a woodfire coonara add character to the otherwise sleek space. Original artworks, colourful plants and a plush grey couch keep the lounge beautiful and homey, with a large TV for entertainment.

The kitchen is kitted out with all the essential appliances, as well as a few bonuses, such as the coffee machine. A wrap-around bench with grey stone countertops makes for an easy workspace, especially for groups. The large wooden dining table can happily seat a full house.

The bedrooms each have a king bed, which can be split into singles and ceiling fans, while there are two sofa beds between the studio and living room. The rooms feature a range of colour palettes that foreground dark, rich blues, greens and greys, with matching bedspreads and more original art adorning the walls. Practical, sleek wooden furniture guarantees functionality. Split-system heating and cooling ensure a comfortable temperature year-round, as well as ceiling fans in all bedrooms.

The real allure of Wombat Edge lies in its private grounds. A gorgeous patio with verandah, BBQ and outdoor setting offer views of the garden, lake and tree line beyond. Wildlife frequently venture out from the edge of the bush to enjoy the private lake, where guests are welcome to swim or canoe.

Cannot wait to go back for another family trip

Our stay at Wombat edge was simply the best . From my parents in law to my nephew, everyone enjoyed the stay so much. The beautiful environment that the property provides is just perfect for a family trip. Will book again for sure .

Wonderful retreat

This property gives more than advertised. It is in a stunning setting with own lake. Kayak to take out with life vests. Perfect playground for kids under supervision. Fully functioning kitchen, BBQ and woodfire pizza oven. Local pub 700 mtrs away so an easy walk. Just beautiful. Gardens are beautiful creating a relaxing environment to unwind in. Thanks.

Magical … home away from home

Wombat Edge encompasses so much … warmth, comfort, style, stunning wildlife. A perfect hideaway, yet close to Trentham, Daylesford for a nostalgic wander. We went into town for brekky but couldn’t wait to get back to Wombat Edge to enjoy the ambience of the fire pit, lake and open fireplace. Definitely a perfect getaway destination.

The perfect wedding weekend property

The best looking property in town! A picturesque backdrop for my wedding photos with the most relaxing surroundings that made our weekend amazing. The beautiful wildlife and lake made it easy to sit outside in the cold and watch on as the kangaroos grazed throughout the misty morning. We can't wait to book again and make use of the lake in summer. Thanks so much for having us, it honestly made our weekend perfect.
