This gorgeous lakeside retreat is perfect for getaways during every season. Beautiful sunsets and breathtaking lake views top this 5 bedroom lake home with all the luxuries of home. Just minutes from the New York State Thruway, the house sleeps 12 and is situated at the north end of Cayuga lake on a private drive off West Lake Road, right on the wine trail and close to many area attractions, wineries, breweries, restaurants, and more. Ideal for multiple families, this home has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, two fireplaces, three floors, two kitchens, and many areas to rest and relax indoors and out on the wrap-around deck, moon porch or beach. Offering heat and air conditioning, there is one bedroom on the first floor for those who might struggle with stairs. The fully-furnished kitchen has all the utensils, pots and pans, and appliances for you to cook large meals or small and the dining has a large table to accommodate large parties. A convenient washer/dryer is available on the first floor, just off the double garage.

What a gorgeous home! The views from the deck, looking out to the east over Cayuga Lake was incredibly beautiful! Such a comfortable place to stay and had plenty of space for our group of 9. We were able to spend a nice evening around the campfire on the little beach area, overlooking the water or going out to sit on the dock and enjoy the starlight!We had a fantastic time and our host, Lisa, was fantastic with a fast response time and even some nice suggestions of how to enjoy the area!Recommend for a wonderful time when you hit the Finger Lakes Wine Trails! Thank you!

The house is very spacious, comfortable and well stocked. It was clean and well maintained. The deck has an awesome view of the lake. The location was very convenient to wineries, breweries and restaurants. Lisa was very nice and responsive. We would definitely rent again.

Deck door on main floor doesn't lock. Direct TV remote missing. Control panel on stove peeling off which made it hard to operate oven. Cobwebs above kitchen cabinets. Molding around doorframe in master bedroom is coming off. Should have a railing at front stoop. Vent in bathroom in hallway on second floor needs to be cleaned. Wish fire pit was in yard closer to house with chairs around it. View of lake was wonderful. Gorugeous sunrises. Good space for large gatherings. Bunkbed room could have a mirror.

Lovely home and location!

Lisa was a wonderful host! Very clear and timely communication which was a joy. Home is quite large and spacious which worked extremely well for our group. A very nice dock and lake to spend time in also. Highly recommend as a perfect spot for your trip to the finger lakes!

We had a great time staying at the home. It was wonderful to watch the sunrises and moonrises from the landing on the way down to the water. The home had plenty of room for us. We were able to make full meals at the house and we went to nearby wineries for food and wine tastings. We were able to use the canoe and paddle board that was at the property. Also was great to swim right off the dock. Thank you!

Beautiful Lakefront!

Even though it was off season and we didn’t get to utilize the lake, the view alone was amazing! Property was clean and well stocked. If staying in the winter months, the only thing to be aware of is the area in the lower/basement (bedroom, bathroom, small kitchen/living area) doesn’t get as warm as the main level and upstairs. Our stay was very enjoyable.

We purchased Shady Beach in the Fall of 2016 for our family of five to have a lakeside getaway to enjoy during each of the beautiful seasons on Cayuga Lake. Our hope is that by offering our special place to others, we'll be able to keep building and improving our lake house for all to relax and enjoy, while helping to support our dreams of retiring lakeside someday.

Why they chose this property

Cayuga Lake has always held a special place in our hearts as our family has spent many years enjoying the Finger Lakes. Cayuga's convenient location to our home base in Fairport, NY, makes it ideal for us to retreat quickly to our oasis from our daily hectic life. The setting of the house and how it overlooks the lake, offers a serene atmosphere and breathtaking lake views. The house is right on West Lake Road, which is the route for the Cayuga Wine Trail and 25 wonderful wineries are situated within just a few miles of the house. The kids enjoy pumpkin chucking at Varick Winery in the fall, Winter is a wonderland of beauty and the fireplaces offer a cozy lakeside setting for holidays or just a weekend getaway. And the spring and summer are of course idea to enjoy swimming, boating, relaxing and finding new adventures, such as the area state parks and waterfall. So much to explore.
