Roman Holiday

My husband and I stayed at the spacious apartment from 5-31-14 to 6-8-14. Great location, Forno pizza was the best, balcony was wonderful, and driver to pickup at the airport made it so easy. we had a perfect vacation thanks to our accommodations. I would highly recommend to anyone staying in Rome and all my friends and family will hear about it. Enrique was a perfect host!!!! Thanks so much, Jennifer and Lincoln Adams

Just Perfect in every way

What a beautiful apartment so central and within walking distance to everything! Everything we needed was right there. Clean apartment, comfortable beds, kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. The noise from the square was not an issue as the windows kept the noise out. And super responsive host who communicated every step of the way! Added bonus of pick up at airport. Our family of four had a great time. Will return!

Beautiful apartment, perfect location!

We had a great stay in Rome at this beautiful apartment. Enrique was very accommodating, and stayed in touch with us through out the entire stay, even surprising us with a bottle of wine for our 10 year anniversary. The terrace was lovely, we enjoyed having our morning coffee outthere or an evening glass of wine. There is a market set up in Campo de Fiori every morning until about 4pm, where you can buy fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, flowers etc. In the evening there were several restaurants where you could enjoy dinner and a cocktail and watch the entertainment in the square. The location is perfect, and was a 10 or 15 minute walk from everything we wanted to do. Anytime we return to Rome, this will be where we stay without question!

Perfect location, beautiful apartment

This place is a dream. My kids watched the square all day and all night, but we heard no noise once we closed door and windows. Patio space is huge and entertaining as market sets us each morning and nightlife picks up each evening. We walked to almost al sights in Rome. Best pizza in Rome a 5 minute walk away. Gelataria Teatro 10 minute walk away (we went daily!). We met Enrique and Angela, who are both very kind and helpful. Enrique arranged a driver to/from the airport for less than a taxi. Amazing experience!

Wonderful apartment and hospitality

Thus beautiful and spacious apartment overlooks the Campo de Fiori giving you the most wonderful experience of being part of Roman life. Each morning you are just moments away from the fabulous market where you can buy fresh food of all kinds and there are authentic trattorias, wine bars and reataurants near by. We went with our hosts recommendations and were not disapointed. The apartment is well appointed, beautifully furnished and has everything anyone could need for a comfortable stay. The terrace is great for a wine and wind down after a day sightseeing. It is also so well situated to visit the wonderful places that Rome has to offer. The owners are very helpful and made booking, arrival and deparrture a breeze. I'll be recommending this apartment to my family and friends and should we have the great fortune of returning to Rome, I'd love to stay in this apartment again.

Super.

We were 5 days in Rome in the middle of April. This apartment was everything we had expected. The apartment is situated in the middle of Rome, and we did'nt need bus or metro. Everything was in a walking distance. The apartment is very nice and clean, and it is as you see it on the photos. We enjoyed very much the terrace. The owner Enrique is extremely helpfull and a very kind man. It was a lovely time in this apartment, and we will sure be back another time. Our favorit restaurant: Ristorante Scampo,(the opposit corner of Campo de Fiora). Steen and Dorthe from Denmark.

Great location!

Enrique's apartment was in a great location - within a 15-25 minute walk to all the major sites! The apartment was very clean and comfortable and we absolutely LOVED having drinks on the terrace every night before dinner while listening to the musicians playing in the piazza below! It was perfect. Enrique was incredibly responsive and great to work with - he even arranged a driver to bring us to the airport (who I would HIGHLY recommend) for less than the price of a taxi! The only improvement I can think of is making the air conditioner stronger in the living room since it didn't cool the room down completely, but that's probably just because it was a 100 degrees in Rome while we were there. We would highly recommend the apartment and would definitely stay there again if we ever return to Rome!

Awesome apartment in an awesome location

The apartment is wonderful, complete with terrace to have that morning coffee or afternoon drink. Everything was as advertised. Enrique and Nathalie were great hosts - available and responsive for questions. The Campo di Fiore is the main entertainment - a virtually non-stop theater - a market for part of the day, then diners, musicians and people enjoying themselves. This is not an apartment for someone looking for quiet. The windows are double paned and keep out a good bit of noise, but by definition the activity in the Campo will be noisy. We enjoyed opening the windows and having the theater outside be our lullaby We have already made reservations to go back for our next visit to Rome.

Adorable place!

The stay was just perfect. Enrique and his little son - adorable hosts. The apartment itself provides lots of space, comfort, and a well-equipped kitchen and library. The little "noise" on Campo de Fiori (unbelievable that some former tenants complained about it - guys, get some earplugs from one of the pharmacies close-by and get over with it) contributes to the lively and energetic atmoshere the place offers: Sit some time on the loverly terrace - idealy with some wine you grabbed just downstairs - and listen to and look at Rome... Everything worth to visit is just a walk away, Forum Romanum and Colosseum, Villa Borghese, the Vatican, the most cited museums and churches of Italy, shopping (!), romantic Trastevere, - just a 20 minute walk at most. Take the time and try the nearby restaurants (thanks to the hosts for the excellent recommendations), and enjoy the immortal city. I will definitely come back to this place.

Magnifico

This was our 5th apartment rental in Rome over the years and by far and above the very best. The patience and quick responses from Enrique was very much appreciated. The apartment exceeded our expectations. We were somewhat apprehensive about the noise given the location. Noise was absolutely NOT a problem. We were able to sleep late and take afternoon naps. The apartment was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed plus more. The terrace was incredible and one could not find a better location. I guess the only problem/issue we had was leaving the apartment after two weeks; we wanted to stay much longer. Thanks again Enrique for everything. We cannot wait to return and stay for a long time! All the best to you and your family. Jerry & Joe San Francisco

A Campo gem!!!

This is an apartment you'd rather keep a secret, so it'll be available the next time you plan a visit to Rome. The apartment has been beautifully renovated, decorated, and furnished; it was immaculately clean, well-equipped, and had the comforts and feel of home. In short, it far exceeded our expectations. I could rave for paragraphs, but two features stand out. One is the amazing opportunity the apartment and its gorgeous terrace offer travelers to experience the lively, ever-changing, fascinating Campo de Fiori. The piazza provides non-stop entertainment and a great opportunity to learn a lot about Rome, just by watching the goings-on. Campo is one of our favorite places on earth, and this apartment gave us an amazing window on life in this great city. The other outstanding feature of the apartment was the owners' exceptional efforts and kindness in ensuring we had everything we needed and were happy. They deserve more than a "10" for customer service. Thanks to their generosity in opening this apartment to travelers, we had a most wonderful, memorable visit to Rome!

Wonderful apartment, wonderful location

My husband and I recently returned from a terrific 2 week vacation in Rome thanks in large part to our stay in this wonderful apartment. The apartment is centrally located. Most tourist sites are within an easy walk. The apartment has been renovated with modern appliances and bathroom fixtures. The queen bed and furniture are very comfortable. The terrace, which overlooks the Campo, is especially delightful and we loved sitting out, relaxing, and enjoying the never-ending street scene at the end of a day of sight-seeing. We did some light cooking in the apartment and especially enjoyed buying high quality vegetables and fruits in the Campo de' Fiori market, cheese and salami in the nearby shops, and delicious cookies and breads in the bakeries. The owners provided a list of nearby pizzerias, trattorias, and up-scale restaurants and we enjoyed several good meals. We cannot speak highly enough about Enrique and Nathalie, the owners of the apartment. Before and during our stay, they were available to answer any question or give any needed suggestion. They arranged transportation to and from the airport, met us at the apartment to show us around and explain where to find local amenities, and arranged a delicious home-cooked meal. We look forward to a return trip to Rome and another stay in this delightful apartment.

Great location and AWESOME host!

Our 1st vacation rental, so we were a bit leery, but the reviews for Enrique and Nathalie's listing were great and made us more at ease in booking this option over a hotel or b&b. The listing is accurate and only touches the surface of describing the location and properties amenities. This place IS "gorgeous" just as described.Perfectly furnished with modern furniture and decor (see photos) with EVERYTHING provided (including soaps and shampoos). The BEST part is the view and the private terrace! A/C and ceiling fans kept us at a perfect temperature and the elevator offered convenience of not having 3 flights of stairs to traipse up after a long day of sightseeing and hiking all over Rome. Two sets of doors keep you safe within the building and a hefty, iron door on the apartment itself reassures your safety. Location, location, location...walk right into the Campo and restaurants for dining options, enjoy fresh produce from the market which sets up every morning, and easy access to taxis and bus stops. As a host, Enrique was FANTASTIC! He arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport and met us to thoroughly explain everything about the place. He was easy to get in touch with and his in-laws live next door if you need anything in an emergency. He checked in on us during our stay and even ran over one evening to bring another key (after we'd accidentally broke one off in the lock)..."no problem"! We'll be staying here on our next (and EVERY trip) to Rome! Thanks, Enrique!

Beautiful apartment with wonderful terrace

We loved this beautifully furnished and thoughtfully equipped apartment. The large terrace and location were the reasons we chose this apartment to rent for the week. Everything was wonderful. We enjoyed many meals on the terrace as well as watching the activity in Campo de Fiori. In addition to the daily market at our doorstep, there was fabulous bakery there and a supermarket 5 minutes walk away. With the windows closed (good air-conditioning here) there was surprisingly little noise from outside. Anyway, listening to the nightly music from our terrace was part of the charm. The location was perfect-we walked everywhere. We were right between St Peter's to the west and the Colisseum/Roman Forum to the East. Right in the neighborhood were Piazza Navonna and the Pantheon. Customer service was exceptional. The owner arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport. Then at the apartment we were met by the owner's gracious mother.in-law who explained the apartment facilities to us. The apartment was spotless.Later, the owner Enrique came to meet us and even came back to say goodbye and help us with taxi service to the train station. Over all, this was perfect experience. Our photos of the place have already inspired friends to ask about renting it themselves. of course we would recommend it. Our only regret is that we aren't returning to Rome next year to stay at Enrique's lovely place.

Gorgeous apartment with private terrace in the heart of Old Rome

This apartment offers everything you would want for a stay in Rome. A wonderful location at the corner of the Campo de Fiori in Old Rome within walking distance to all the major sights. A beautifully decorated apartment with the feel of a cozy home. A tiny, but well equipped kitchen. And the terrace where you can drink your coffee in the morning, relax in the afternoon, sip wine in the evening and always have the built-in entertainment of the Campo below you. Everything you need to relax and enjoy this special part of the world is literally just steps away. We have been to Rome twice before and came again with the idea of settling in to a neighborhood. This apartment at this locations was ideal. Although tourists (like us) abound in and around the Campo, real Romans also live there, walking to work and school; shopping at the local butchers, bakeries, and open-air market; and enjoying their passeggiata before dining at one of the many lovely cafes. Enrique was a wonderful host who explained the workings of the apartment and arranged for a transport to and from the apartment. Our correspondence with him before our visit was great. He answered all our questions and got back to us immediately. The photos in the listing give a very accurate look at the apartment; no unpleasant surprises. The coziness and charm of the flat is no doubt due to the fact that this had been his and his wife's home. If we return to Rome, we would certainly try to stay there again. Feel at Home on Campo de Fiori

The terrace was the icing on the cake of this charming apartment in Rome. Windows look out onto all the activity on the campo but we weren't disturbed by it (double glazed, replacement windows I think). As a matter of fact, we looked forward to sitting on the terrace at night and listening to the music that seemed to pop up each evening. Our 7 year old grandson loved all the activity on the campo in the evening. But most of all he enjoyed meeting and playing with Enrique and Nathalies' same age son!! What a charming couple they are and the absolute best hosts we have encountered in all our travels. Nathalie's mother met us at the apartment and made us feel so welcome and comfortable immediately. Enrique came by later to check if we needed anything. His restaurant recommendation just around the corner on a side street was delicious and reasonably priced and even did a carry out order!! All of the transactions regarding the rental were handled so professionally but with the warmth of dealing with a friend. The apartment was updated/renovated with nice materials and the effect is very inviting. The apartment looks exactly as pictured (seemed bigger than the pics) and clean and contained enough kitchen equipment to conveniently make snacks and a meal or two with fresh ingredients from the stalls right on the doorstep. About 30 yards away is a small grocery that supplied coffee breads dairy gelato juices cookies etc. Bathroom shower had remarkably good shower pressure and plenty of hot water for a 200+ year old building. The building is very secure and nothing at all, night or day, seemed like all the security was necessary! The location is truly within walking distance of many "must sees" and inexpensive regular white taxis ( close by) for the Colosseum and Vatican. It was quite hot and humid so we didn't attempt the 20 - 30 minute (our speed) walk to either of those. Would probably have walked if it was early Spring or Fall. Our 5 night stay ended too quickly! We would go back in a heartbeat ! and are already talking about an early Spring trip next year.

Small Family Perfect

I've found staying in Campo to be the center of the tourist universe in Rome, midway between and a little south of the line from Termini to the Vatican. Campo is an exciting place to look down over from 4 stories high. Windows that open are a must to take in the ambiance, but good windows that close tight to block out the noise are mandatory. This place has the extra benefit of having one of only two "patio properties" in Campo, making the experience even better that just being close. Enrique, my host, was fabulous from initial contact to booking to maintaining contact to making sure I got in when we agreed. My host-in-law, Angela, was a real peach and showed me around the place with great detail. The apartment is spotless and exactly as depicted in the photos. There is one small step up and out to the patio. The bed was comfy - after a LOT of walking around Rome, almost any bed will do for me but my back never got sore on their mattress. The bathroom was adequate, but the finicky shower control makes finding the right temp pretty hard. I resorted to short bursts of water "Navy shower" style and that seemed to work best. Kitchen was perfect and easy to get around. I appreciated the pitcher of cold water in the fridge and ice in the freezer. I didn't cook, but I made breakfast and LOTS of coffee and fresh fruit from the market below. The fridge was spotless. A/C comes from portable room units that we happen to use at our house, so I'm used to them. But they are naturally fairly loud. My bad hearing makes this a non-issue, but it's not the typical wall units that most use in the EU. There are doors separating the BR from the LR area. The couch would be comfy for a sleeping bag. The elevator is tight for even one person with two bags so plan on making several trips. And there are 10 steps or so from the elevator to the apartment. This didn't bother me much. The building is VERY safe and secure with double locked gates that require a key. I hope I'm lucky enough to fit into the schedule next year if my wife comes with me. The place could probably sleep four, definitely sleeps 3, and is perfect for a couple with a young child. It's a rare find that's in demand all the time so grab it when you can - I may beat you to it if you don't! Thanks, Enrique. It was my treat to know you and stay in your place.

Great Place that Feels like Home

We stayed here for 5 days (with my husband and my mother). As soon as you enter the place it feels relaxing and spacious. This was the beginning of June so the ceiling fans were more than enough even during the sunny days, although the temperature did not go above 80 degrees F I believe. We didn't have the need to turn on the ACs (one in the bedroom and another in the living room). The place has many although two main, big pluses stand out for me which are hard to find in Rome (and I searched for tons of places online before selecting this one). It has a really awesome terrace on the 4th floor and a very unique, corky elevator which does a fine job although it only fits two people at once, but that's no problem since the stairs are wide, not that many steps and ez to use. Our feet couldn't handle any more walking yet one of us would go up the steps instead of waiting for the elevator and it was fine. Also having Campo di Fiori in front of the apartment was a really great experience. I opened the windows at night to let all the noise from the crowd in and feel the energy. It was very vibrant to feel the pulse of the crowd below. But, if you don't like noise the windows when closed block almost all if not all noise outside. The apartment is very cute, airy and the dark colors in the bedroom combined with the wood work made it great to sleep in late on couple of days. We stayed at another apartment in Firenze and we could barely fit in the shower, but not here. Here the bathroom looks it belongs in a nice hotel; spacious shower/bathtub, large full length mirrors in the bathroom and on the closet door. The kitchen was a bit small, but also very cozy and it did its job. We cooked couple of meals from food we bought at the shop right next door which offered fresh bread, great pesto, awesome pasta, meats, wine and one can buy veggies from the market from 6am to 3pm. Only wish the kitchen had a cutting board where to cut veggies and perhaps an electric coffeemaker. But you can just go to a small restaurant in the corner where they have great coffee and do not charge you a 3 euros cover for sitting to drink your coffee. The place is so centric to all places; you can walk everywhere from here. I could go on and on. But one more thing, Enrique and Nathalie are a young couple, super nice, kind and very understanding. The price is also right. Can't go wrong with this place. I will be telling my family and friends. Enjoy Roma!!!

Merci

Fun in Rome

This apartment was in a great location at the Campo de Fiori. Easy walk to all the sites. Found lots of great restaurants down the twisting, turning roads. Rome is one big living, breathing history museum. My only complaint was that the apartment has 2 portable A/C units, which are woefully inadequate during Roman summers. It was always around 30 degrees Celsius in the apartment, which made for a difficult time sleeping. An investment in at least one split unit is absolutely necessary. I would normally give a place like this 4.5-5 stars, but because of the lack of A/C, I would have to give it 3.5 Joel Ohio, USA

Gorgeous apartment in an outstanding location.

Smashing big airy apartment overlooking the square, the location is brilliant. Enrique was fantastic always at hand if/when we needed him and gave us some fabulous new restaurants to try. One of the highlights was listening to the cellist play around 7pm whilst have an aperitif on the lovely roof terrace. We will most definitely come back. Loved our stay.

Great location and apartment. Fantastic hosts

The apartment was the perfect location for our stay. Centrally located between all the sites we wanted to see. The apartment is exactly how the pictures show it. Very comfortable, spacious, the bed was very comfortable. Very clean. The terrace was really nice. The piazza below is a market during the day and in the evenings there is usually someone playing music. There are a number of cafe's lining the edges of the piazza and we ate there just about every meal. The hosts are incredibly nice people and we really enjoyed meeting them. They arranged for a car on our request which really made the trip to and from the airport easy. I'm hoping to stay there again on my next trip.

Great location

Enjoyed our 5 day stay in this romantic apartment within walking distance to all the most visited sites in Roma. Wonderful host and safe neighborhood. There is a daily open market and restaurants with music in the plaza so this apartment has the sounds of urban living. The patio is fantastic and a real luxury for morning coffee and evening wine. Great shopping and a wonderful variety of places to grab and go or sit for dining. Loved our stay.
