This place is special. On the coast, with an elevated view and an interior that is comfortable, yet modern and stylish plus outdoor living like none you've seen!
Location: On northern fringe of Waiomu village, along the Thames Coast, it's an easy (usually under 2hr) drive from Auckland.
Unique outdoor facilities: 1. The garden 'quarter-house' is made for relaxing, day and night. With its custom made outdoor floating fireplace perfectly situated to warm bodies and toast marshmallows.
2. A custom made stainless steel outdoor kitchen takes BBQing to the next level.
3. The outdoor surf-board shower keeps everyone smiling (and grit/salt-free) after a day at the beach/river.
The view: Spectacular; vast views of the Firth of Thames - spanning the tip of Rangitoto through to the dip of the Hauraki plains. With the iconic coastal Pohutukawa's nearby hours can be spent bird watching and ocean gazing. The view is ever-changing, with a sunset show to cap off each day.
Waiomu's attractions all nearby: Local cafe an easy 10-minute stroll away. The choice of two beautiful parks, Waiomu beach and forest walks with idyllic river pools just up the valley. Plus the convenience of Thames, with numerous shopping, eating, and entertainment options. Not to mention the fishing... there's a charter fishing company within walking distance of the bach. (Feel free to ask us for contact details if you're interested).
Indoor time: 1. We don't have wifi but there is freeview TV coverage in the lounge along with ample DVD's for screen based entertainment. 2. The large living room table is perfect for puzzles & games. 3. Watching the weather, the birds working, and if you're really lucky a pod of dolphins swim by.

This was a very unusual booking that didn’t go ahead as planned.
Good communication which included a transparent discussion about the condition of our driveway and whether their car was capable and it sounded like it was.
But when it came to the day they couldn’t drive up the drive.
As a sign of good faith we refunded their booking.
My friends and I loved our stay here - it was just what we needed to recuperate. Access to the property was accurate and the kitchen was stocked with all the appliances/utensils. We spent a lot of the time watching the weather - one of the top activities to do at the bach!

Delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay! Thanks for being great guests.
Lovely relaxing place to stay with a stunning view. We did have to clean the oven of the oven cleaner, before we could make our dinner. The outdoor bbq was also shocking. That aside we had a great stay. We would go back again.

Great to hear you enjoyed your stay. Sorry to hear about the bbq! Will make sure that is checked every time. Oven was definitely due - our helper ran out of time. So thank you for taking the initiative.
Thanks for being great guests.
This is a great family Bach, myself and 4 friends stayed to run the Pinnacles. It would be perfect for warm weather visiting. Has the most amazing outdoor space, which would be fab in the summer time. Bring warm clothes in the colder weather as there are only 2 radiator oil heaters, took us a while to get the place warm. This is definitely a warm weather awesome place to stay. Loved our time parked up 8n front of the fire pit before it got too cold to sit outside

Thanks for the lovely review Ali. So sorry it wasn't obvious that the delonghi dehumidifier in the living area is also a heater. This really cranks out the heat and quickly warms the place. Thanks for bringing this to my attention - I’ll add a note to our ‘welcome notes’ so future guests know.
A colleague and I were working on the Coromandel and stayed at Manya’s place for three weeks in January/February. The place is really comfortable and well-equipped, with an authentic bach feel. French doors open onto amazing outdoor areas overlooking the Firth, and with no wifi but plenty of classic cds and dvds to delve into, time slows down and you can relax. Fantastic swimming holes nearby and a walk up to the Kauri grove. The steep metal driveway was a challenge for the Toyota Corolla rental car but it was doable and plenty of parking. Communication with Manya was excellent. I’d definitely stay here again.

Stayed here with 4 children and 3 adults fit us all well sleeping and size of the home, outdoor area was big enough for some backyard fun. Definitley family friendly. Amazing views! Best spot for a small town coastal get away. Also check in process was a breeze. 10/10 Will be returning again.

Wonderful to hear you enjoyed your stay! Thanks for being great guests, we look forward to hearing from you again :)
We loved our time at waiomu. This house has amazing views, close to waiomu and a stroll down to the water. It’s well equipped and nice and cosy for our family of four.
Driveway was definitely a challenge with getting JetSki up, may need some maintenance.

Hi Boydie, so great to hear you enjoyed your stay! Pleased to report the driveway has had some maintenance. (Potholes had emerged over summer so these are now filled and cemented.)
Thanks for being great guests :)
Typical New Zealand bach. Very homely with access to beach and the views are amazing. Surrounded by native flora and forna and plenty of bird life. Would definitely return.
