This is a classic Maine camp on an excellent clean lake. The gazebo was a very spacious and comfortable outdoor space. Really great spot for kids and a good lobster pound very close by.

So glad you all enjoyed it here. We hope you return next year
Owners were kind and welcoming. We spent the week relaxing on the lake. I am a lover of all things old so this was a little bit of heaven for me. The cat loved sitting in the many windows and watching us play in the water. Would love to return.

We are so glad you loved it!! Hope to see you come back next year.
My husband and I, along with our son, his wife and our two grandsons had the best time. The family enjoyed fishing, swimming, enjoying canoe trips around the lake, building sandcastles, meals in the gazebo, s'mores at the campfire and board games at night. I was able to work remotely with the high speed internet. Winnie and Frank were wonderful. We had hoped for quality time together, building memories and this place's delivered. Already planning next year's visit.

We really enjoyed having your family spend your vacation with us. Can't wait to see you next summer.

Our family enjoyed our stay, the owners live right on the property so they were there to help with anything we needed. The home is old and could use some updates( i.e; chairs and one couch we put blankets over, they’ve seen better days, extremely hot inside with only window fans, stove barely useable) also, the house is connect to another rental, you have your own outdoor space but share lake access ( that’s not properly advertised, was never a problem for us the people were very nice but I didn’t know that) but my family and I were on the beautiful porch or beach area right outside the back door the majority of the time anyways. The beach type access into the lake is wonderful! You are a good 35-45 mins from larger towns; Kennybunck or Portland, not many nicer restaurants or mini golf things like that close by. Over all a nice little rustic family vacation spot.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Two of our local restaurants have closed in July. They couldn't get enough staff to stay open. If no one takes over these businesses I will have to adjust my ad for the 2023 season.
This rental property was a total disappointment and we would never consider renting it again. My parents booked it for my brother and myself so that we and our families could spend some time in Maine visiting with our grandmother and extended family there. We arrived on our check-in date and my parents were promptly and rudely told that they would have to leave immediately when everyone arrived because we would be over our limit of person’s on property. Note: the limit of visitors is not on the initial rental listing!!! The owner remained abrasive despite our attempts to be understanding and friendly. Bear in mind that we are in our 40s with several children ranging from 2-15 years old, so we were not there to party. My own parents who were paying for the property could not come visit their grandchildren! So if you are renting this property in hopes of spending time with family, look elsewhere! We were also told the dog would have to remain on a 6 foot leash at all times. This was not communicated in anyway when renting the property. It is advertised as dog friendly. It is not.
Now to the actual state of the property. I don’t believe the cabin had been cleaned in years. There were questionable stains on the blankets. We were warned by the property owner that the back door handle was tricky. It was clearly falling apart and when it did completely break we were blamed for it! If you know that your rental property is having issues with a door, you replace it! The camp is right next to a very busy road, so if you like your vacation with a side of emergency vehicle sirens and motorcycles, this is the place for you. Several windows upstairs were nailed shut, which is not only a safety hazard but made for very stuffy bedrooms. The dryer that you have to pay two dollars per load for does not work. Overall this was neither worth the money nor the stress of the experience. We were constantly monitored by our cranky hostess. We are grateful we had enough family to offer alternative places to escape during the day. Do not rent this place!

We clearly state on our ad that we do not allow events. We count children Yes even if they are small, as occupants. Forcing yours to sleep on the living room floor with my blankets and the dog, so others could occupy every bed, Fourteen people!! We also count "day guests" So you could not add your parents and others to the fourteen that you had. You never kept your dog on any leash despite repeated requests, so other dog owners could have equal access to the beach. We have no intention of renting to you again.
Other home owners beware of this massive group. Even if you send them all of the information on your house rules in a PDF file they will ignore everyone of them and destroy your property.
The property was described accurately and the owners answered all of our questions in a timely manner. We enjoyed a family vacation right on the lake. The gazebo porch was fantastic for morning coffee and to eat meals outside with a beautiful view of the lake.
I’ve been at this property for 2 years in a row very happy with my stay both times love the space especially outside right on the lake could not ask for more to have space for my family in the water and out of the water I think Winnie and Frank are great people and will plan on another stay next year

Always a pleasure to see you and the family. Looking forward to seeing you agiain next year.
We stayed at this property for two weeks. The property manager was very nice and always available if needed. She had a closet full of games and lake rafts for guest. They had a great fire pit and laundry facilities. In addition, our house was right on the lake. We read on the porch while looking out onto the lake. I would definitely stay here again.

Not what we were looking for
From the pics of this property we thought we were going to a place that was a bit rustic and quaint, and peaceful.
IRL the house is about 100 yards from a busy road and is part of a sort of campground of cottages. Between the house and the road is There is a boat dock between the house and the road with people frequently coming and going.
The bedrooms are tiny. Two of the three are separated by a plywood wall with curtains instead of doors.
The circuit panel in kitchen is adjacent to the refrigerator with exposed wiring. The microwave was broken. The fridge included an ice maker but the mechanism on the door was broken. The living room furniture is worn and dirty.
With VRBOs help (and excellent customer service) we left as soon as we could find a new place.

I wrote to this guest over 20 times answering all of her questions. The address is on goggle earth with pictures of the area. There are in fact two Sunnyside Cottages in Maine the other one is on Mount Desert island in Acadia National Park. These guests commented when they left that my property wasn't where they expected it to be.
