Our stay was wonderful. The host was welcoming and the room was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed spending time in the swimming pool and playing billiards with friends. The complimentary wine was a really nice touch. We also had the chance to visit a nearby farm, which made the experience even more memorable.
Beautiful property, clean and tidy and loved all of the animals! TJ was a fantastic host and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Such a great spot to gather and unwind.
An awesome time staying here with a bunch of friends. Gorgeous views in a lovely area, lots to keep us entertained and plenty of comfy beds. Would stay again!

Hi
We had a fantastic stay.
House was amazing
Grandkids loved the animals.
collecting the eggs
Feeding Spike, the horse carrots
swimming in the pool
But they loved the cubby house i think the most
thanks Tj
We had an absolutely lovely stay .The property was so private and peaceful.
Hosts were extremely accomodating & responded promptly to all queries. The house was spotless, and we had everything we needed.Definitely will come back again.
We got to the house, after Margot gave us a tour we realised the house wasn’t in the cleanest condition. Our privacy was also very much so invaded with them having wine tasting in our backyard where we couldn’t even use the pizza oven till late. The house itself and location very nice however would not consider coming back to this place.

not impressed
What a lovely location, but the property is in need of a lot of repair. The place had not been cleaned after the last guests, trash and bottles still pilled on the deck. most of the outside lights do not work and some of the inside ones and it wouldn't hurt to label the switches so you know what switch is for what. The windows were filthy, some of the curtains don't work. If you are disabled don't bother, none of the bathrooms are wheelchair friendly. there was no sign of the coffee machine and the plates, glasses ect were all over the place. All of the beds need replacing and the sofas are worn out. As I said what a lovely location, wonderful views, spoiled by the untidy grounds, the outside decking is loose and dangerous.

Feeling ripped off.
We had a mixed experience during our stay, making the most of our trip, but the overall situation left us quite frustrated. Firstly, an unexpected farm dog joined us, a detail not mentioned in the ad or confirmed by the owner beforehand. This posed a significant challenge as my wife and mother are uncomfortable around dogs due to past traumatic experiences. The lack of prior notice disrupted our plans, limiting us to the patio and impacting our overall enjoyment. Despite efforts to close off the patio, the dog roamed freely, leading to a traumatic incident with my nephew near the pool.
The condition of the house was disappointing; filthy walls, doors, and windows covered in cobwebs and spiders. Cleaning became a necessity before we could even consider sitting down. The patio and barbecue were also dirty, requiring us to leave the house cleaner than we found it. While we understand it's a farm, the level of cleanliness fell short of our expectations given the amount we paid.
Several amenities further added to our dissatisfaction. The pool table lacked usable cues, the dishwasher was non-functional, forcing us to clean by hand. The main TV didn't work, and we had to resort to connecting a Nintendo Switch for entertainment. Additionally, insufficient lighting, especially on the patio with the best view, limited our enjoyment during the evenings.
In hindsight, we should have considered requesting a refund upon arrival due to the unexpected challenges and subpar conditions.
Everything and more, too cold to go in the pool. Clean, well equipped from every aspect. The kid's had a ball checking out all the farm animals and great play room not one whinge they were bored. Would definitely stay again and again and again. Fabulous family stay

Thanks so much Mandy! We absolutely loved hosting your group. So glad the kids had such a great time exploring the farm and making the most of the playroom — that’s exactly what we hope for. Thank you as well for leaving the house spotless, we really appreciated it. You were a pleasure to host and we’d love to welcome you all back anytime!
The pool was a wonderful place for play and using up youthful energies. It was clean, sparkling and a delight to use.

Dirty with mice!
Stayed with group of friends including 2 children and an infant. Dirty property with full bins (with other ppl’s rubbish) when we arrived, plus dusty and damp. Worse part mice were running around inside including in our room! The whole group couldn’t sleep well and we are all very disappointed.

Relaxing holiday
We had a lovely time. The children loved the pool. The adults loved the relaxed atmosphere, comfy beds, big deck and bbq.
This property is fantastic, we had 8 friends stay over Christmas and the house was perfect for a group in need of pool time and hanging out. The house has all the basics you need, and is well set up for larger groups.
We loved using the pizza oven, bbq, large dinner tables and pool. The property is in easy reach of activities if you want to venture out to explore.
Would 10/10 recommend to a friend.
Had a fantastic long weekend with family and friends at the property. So many special memories! The kids loved exploring the surrounding, the playground, the alpacas, making pizzas, and even braved in the pool. Amazing views, and having a cellar door downstairs made the whole experience even more special. Margot and Ian were wonderful hosts. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back!

About the host
Hosted by TJ
We discovered this property on a spontaneous weekend drive and instantly knew it was something special. In 2019, we were lucky enough to make it our home.
At the time, we knew very little about grape growing or farming, but we’ve learned as we’ve gone — sometimes the hard way — and loved every part of the journey. What started as a dream has grown into a working farm, vineyard and place we’re proud to share with others.
Welcoming guests to experience the farm is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. From caring for the land to expanding our ever-growing collection of farm animals, this property is constantly evolving — and always full of life.
We hope you enjoy your stay here as much as we enjoy sharing it.
Why they chose this property
Set at the base of Yankalilla Hill, Allusions Farmstay and Vineyard offers the best of the Fleurieu Coast — wide open space, rolling hills, native bushland and a real sense of calm.
We love the balance this area offers: peaceful rural surroundings with valley and ocean views, yet only minutes from beautiful beaches, coastal towns, wineries and walking trails. It’s a place where days feel slower, nights are quieter, and the scenery changes with the seasons.
The farm itself is home to livestock, wildlife and open paddocks, creating a relaxed and authentic country setting. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down, reconnect and enjoy being surrounded by nature.
What makes this property unique
Allusions Farmstay and Vineyard offers a genuine farmstay experience set within a working property, rather than a styled rural accommodation designed to look like one.
What makes it special is the balance it strikes. The farm feels peaceful and expansive, with paddocks, animals, vines and open space all around, yet it’s still just minutes from the beaches, wineries and coastal towns of the Fleurieu Coast. Guests can enjoy the sense of being immersed in the country without feeling isolated or remote.
Unlike many properties, this is a living, evolving farm. You’ll hear natural farm sounds, see animals being cared for and experience the rhythms of rural life alongside the comfort of well-set-up accommodation. It’s relaxed, authentic and intentionally unpretentious.
The setting allows guests to slow down and spread out, whether that’s spending time outdoors, sharing meals together or using the property as a base to explore the coast, local food producers and surrounding conservation areas.
Allusions is best suited to guests who value space, privacy and a real connection to the land — a place that feels grounded, welcoming and genuinely lived in.
