We had a great time. The house was spacious. The portable air conditioners cooled really well but there was a lot of moisture. However, the weather was very hot!! It was an enjoyable stay!! Thank you!
The stay was amazing. Had a hiccup when we first got there with the AC going out but they quickly solved the problem. My pup loved the house and the location close to the beach.
We stayed five nights in Emerald Isle with five adults and one 6-year-old and this home was ideal for our needs. The space was open, clean, and comfortable; the layout allowed semi-private spaces for everyone; the public beach access is only a short walk down the street; and the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes and cookware. We would certainly stay here again next time we are in the area!
The place was exactly like the pictures and the location was incredible. We had some trouble turning the AC cooler during the day and suspect it may have been on a timer but beyond that we had no complaints. Would stay there again.
The neighborhood and proximity to the beach were great. Overall a nice place! With a good layout.Complaints:No furniture on the decksGround level accommodations were completely separate from the rest of the house—only access was from outside.Central AC was not adequate or was not working. There were noisy portable and/or window AC in SOME but not all of the rooms. We had to run all of them in order to make it bearable inside. One side of the house did not have any extra units and stayed hot.A couple of the units were sloppily rammed into the windows with a little packing tape; one kept falling out of the window and tripping the electrical breaker; and it was leaking on the floor. When I called about it, maintenance never showed and I received a message that the central ac worked and to not worry about the window unit. The heat was unbearable without that unit running so I purchased duct tape and sealed up all the gaping holes around all the units and managed to secure the one that kept falling out of the window. I thought the AC conditions were not really acceptable, otherwise it would have been a much better stay.
The home is a work in process. Some new, some old. The property management company is BEST! They were amazing with the little issue we had. The internet was a great speed. In today's plugged in society this is was AWESOME!
The negative: This house had a cheap plastic mattress cover on the master bed. It was like a low rent hotel. No mattress pad just this cheap plastic mattress cover that crinkled with every turn under the fitted sheet. WTH?! Spend the cash and get a nice mattress cover, waterproof if that is your concern, and put it on the bed.
For renters I would suggest you bring your own sheets and pillow cases. The ones on the beds were clean and well kept they were just scratchy.
We definitely would rent this home again it was a nice home for a family.

Overall, stay was pretty good - location was nice - about 5 rows back walk to the beach. The house was clean and the towels / linens were good. The appliances, etc worked well and the kitchen had everything needed. The house has a good amount of space when the downstairs is included. 2 main issues:It is not clear on the listing but the downstairs is completely separate from upstairs which actually worked out well for our group but would be a big issue with small children. The listing needs to be updated to clarify this. The central AC is broken or not adequate for upstairs so the rental company has installed 2 temporary AC units upstairs and potentially a window unit as well. The one in the back bedroom doesn’t have a plug in the bottom so the water just leaks from it - called the maintenance person at the realty and his solution was put a towel under it which I had to change out each day - luckily we had extra towels - this worked okay. The other unit was placed on the kitchen counter so took away counter space. I’m guessing this whole setup was a temporary fix waiting a more permanent solution. The AC overall was an okay solution - not ideal and clearly the rental units were in not the best condition. Also, there are no beach or deck chairs (don’t think there are any listed on the listing either so not a problem but just a note).
This house was perfect. Great location. Just a short walk to the beach. The layout of the house worked really nice for us. We would definitely rent this property again in the future
My husband, 3 children (ages 9, 6 and 3), dog and I had a wonderful stay. Easy walk to the beach. The house was well equipped with lots of thoughtful details. The only negative was that the sheets and mattress pad on the master bed did not quite fit. We will stay again when we return to Emerald Isle.
My husband, 3 kids(ages 3, 6 and 9), dog and I had a great stay. The house was very well equipped with cooking equipment, games and random household items(pens, scissors, etc). The other reviews about the sheets are accurate. The sheets on the twin beds were fine, but the mattress pad and sheet on the master bed did not fit at all. Others than that, our stay was perfect.
Very disappointed upon walking in the Home seeing the little Mermaid Room with a huge foot sized circle of carpet and padding missing showing the subfloor! Not a safe environment for our 5 year old Grandaughter. Pieces of window blinds missing. Beds were super noisy being that the mattress covers were plastic ,making it hot and extremely loud when someone moved. The remodeled downstairs bedroom outlets were not functioning or the Slim'pac AC unit. The bathroom light switch not only controlled the light, it also operated the electrical outlet above the sink? Downstairs TV wasn't working. Windows downstairs were unlocked and left cracked. Screen was missing and one was pertruding out. It would've been very helpful to have a Binder or welcome Letter showing how to get to the Ocean, if parking was available etc.

Response from VrboOwner on 22 July 2021
Hi Gabriel, the homeowner has asked us to share this response:
- As the owner, I, too, am disappointed that the prior guest allowed their pet to put a large hole in the carpet and damage multiple sets of blinds. Because of this experience, we are no longer accepting pets for any future bookings.
- We want our guests to have a relaxing and positive experience, and the property was certainly not at our normal standard. Unfortunately, bookings during summer are back to back, so there was not adequate time to make repairs before your arrival.
- The blinds and flooring for the Mermaid Room have all been replaced over the last week.
- I stayed in the home last week, and the TV is working downstairs; there is no cable, so perhaps that was the issue at hand. There is Netflix and Wifi for any streaming.
- Thank you for your feedback on the binder; we can certainly put something like this together for guests who appreciate this type of information. I will also give the other items mentioned attention.
- I apologize that your experience was less than ideal, and I will be working with Evolve to make things right.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and I am hopeful that you will revisit and have a much more pleasant experience!
