The home is 10 minutes away from the mountain town of Golden which is next to Kootney, Yoho and Revelstoke National Parks and within an hour to the iconic Banff National Park.

This unique home is light filled with its many windows and features beautiful Douglas Fir timbers, floors, panelling and cabinetry throughout for a warm, mountain-modern feel. Heated slate floors and bathroom tiles, flamed granite countertops, hand-forged iron work, high-end plumbing fixtures, wool carpet and custom lighting balance out the beautiful wood to create a luxurious sanctuary. The home also features an outdoor fireplace, an entry pavilion with a glass floor over the deep wine cellar and a jewel box powder room. There is also custom and designer furniture and fabrics and beautiful artwork featuring local artists throughout.

This home is designed for family and friends with the highlight being a light-filled timber great room with towering 30 foot ceilings, comfortable furnishings, stunning views and a magnificent wood burning fireplace. At night the room is lit with custom glass rock lights giving a warm glow throughout. Adjacent is the gourmet kitchen with a large curved timber island, multiple dishwashers and sinks, six-burner Wolf range, large fridge, ice maker, microwave, coffee maker and barbecue deck. The custom dining table is in between and sits 12 comfortably.

In the summer, the large deck has morning and late afternoon sun and is a relaxing spot to take in the surrounding views and enjoy the outdoor wood-burning fireplace. There is a very private 8 person hot-tub on an upper deck nestled in beautiful trees with views of the mountains around.

The 70’s inspired walk-out basement rec room features a family room with a large television adjacent to a full bar with a gorgeous custom-lit wall. The billiard room is on the other side of the 2-sided gas fireplace and has doors to a private, sunken patio.

Although perfect for entertaining, the home also offers lots of privacy for your group. The highlight is the large, private top floor master suite that includes a king bed, sitting area, balcony, soaker tub, dual vanities, a walk-in closet and a luxurious RainSky and steam shower. The guest "wing" features 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed and large closet. One has an ensuite and there is a second bathroom, laundry and small wet bar in the hallway that is bathed in light from a lofted skylight. The "kids" wing has 2 bedrooms each with a queen/queen bunk-bed and a shared bathroom. Finally, there is a cozy walk-out basement level guest room with a queen sofabed, which can also be used as an office with another full bath.

From a practical point of view there are many features to make your stay enjoyable from the start. The home features high-speed internet (25 MB/second) and wifi and there is a sound system that can play your music or complimentary Sirius XM Satellite Radio in each room. The tv is set up with Fire TV or you can plug in your favourite streaming service or watch a movie from an extensive movie library. There is garage storage for your skis or bikes. The bathrooms and bedrooms have ample room for your belongings with counter space, drawers, closets and benches for your use. There is a large ski room for outdoor coats and gear that features an air drying closet for wet mitts, gloves and hats in addition to a second laundry. The house is also well sound-proofed adding to its privacy.

The Gondola Plaza featuring Double Black Café, Peaks Grill and the General Store is a 5 minute walk away as is the Dawn Mountain Nordic Club. There is a creek close by with a tobogganing hill next to it. The Winston Pub and the Copper Horse Steak House are on the street below, just a stroll on a forested trail. In Golden you can visit many of the local shops on the Main Street, great local restaurants and then stop in at the local Whitetooth Brewery for a flight of beers or some growlers to take back up the hill.

In the summer there are many options for biking from the exhilarating downhill mountain biking from the chairlift and gondola at Kicking Horse to the CBT, Moonraker and Mountain Shadow trails for mountain biking as well as many place to take your road bike. The Golden Golf Club has a great restaurant and mini-golf and is just down the hill. For those hot summer days, Cedar Lake is just 10 minutes away or you can head to the beach at the confluence of the Kicking Horse and Columbia rivers. Additionally, there are many hiking trails in and around Golden and you are close to the wonders of Yoho National Park to the East. The Kicking Horse and Columbia rivers have white water rafting and canoeing for all levels. And recently opened is the Golden Skybridge – Canada’s highest suspension bridge.
