Great Location
My friends and I had a lovely Memorial Day in the Wisteria house. We especially enjoyed the rocking chairs on the front porch and seeing the horse-drawn carriages go by. Can't beat the location - we didn't have to do any driving all weekend. We were pretty bummed that the outdoor shower, which was really just a showerhead on the side of the shed, which was in clear view of the neighbors, was not hooked up to the water. Even for being a shore house, the place wasn't very clean. There was lots of dust and mildew in every corner, and especially on the decks, and random items (pair of shorts, cue-tip, scrunchie) left from previous tenants were seen under the beds. That being said the bathrooms, beds, and pillows were clean. Lastly, we didn't know we had to bring garbage bags, cooking oil, salt, pepper, paper towels, and toilet paper and had to run to get these things. Beautiful house, great location and good price.

Cape May vacation
The house is a lovely 200 year old house. The property was pretty much as advertised, and very centrally located. In fact we parked the first day we arrived and never moved our car for the entire two eeeks we were there. Everything from Shoppe to beaches restaurants was in immediate walking distance. That said it would’ve been great to have a dedicated driveway for the house so we Would have felt free to venture further. Something to consider

Not What We Paid For!
For four consecutive years, we have enjoyed Cape May VRBO properties. This year was different. Mail trucks unloading at 5AM at the post office across the street and no driveway and no parking on Franklin for loading and unloading was inconvenient; much worse was a full week of serious plumbing problems. At no point did we have full use of a kitchen, laundry or outdoor plumbing. Within 3 hours of arriving, we discovered the outside shower and faucet were broken. Two hours later we became aware of what evolved into a serious kitchen plumbing problem. We immediately informed the owner’s representative (VRBO’s listed owner never interacted with us). He blamed a previous renter for the outside faucet and shower but in his words, forgot to tell us. He promised a plumber would arrive Sunday to address the broken pipe in the farmer’s sink and the clogged main sink. No one came. The P.O.C. verbally offered us a refund IF WE LEFT. There was no place to go – a VRBO search revealed that no rentals were available. Family from Wisconsin and Philadelphia were staying with us; others from W. Virginia were in a one-bedroom apartment. We (with patience) still believed this could be brought to an acceptable conclusion. It was only our second day and no plumber had yet evaluated the situation. Leaving would be premature. Monday a handyman arrived and immediately said it was beyond his scope; we needed a plumber – probably roots. Tuesday afternoon a plumber arrived, snaked the drain which yielded roots and mud. He stopped working for fear of damaging his equipment. Wednesday another plumber arrived, unapprised of the problem but quickly confirmed roots and/or a broken pipe and advised limiting all use of the kitchen. We switched to paper and plastic, used coffee cups only and bailed the sink after washing cups in a plastic bowl. We did not use the dishwasher which continued to hold water; we bailed it out. Up to this point we had had perfunctory interactions with the owner’s P.O.C. He offered no real-time help. Broken, root filled pipes in an old house is unfortunate; the owner’s refusal to contact us any time after Wednesday is unthinkable. Although we have contacted them multiple times by phone, email and even through VRBO, they have not responded. As a consumer, we paid for outdoor plumbing and a fully functional kitchen and feel that we were due some form of compensation. The owner has stonewalled us.

Perfect location, lots of space
We had a fantastic time at the Wisteria house, and Hank and Carlotta could not have been easier to deal with, or friendlier. Their communications were very clear and the check in process was seamless. The house had plenty of space for three adults and two kids. 3 couples could easily stay here together. I appreciated all that was included in the kitchen, plenty for a cook like me, and lots of options for some entertaining if you want to. We really enjoyed the front porch and the horse-drawn carriages going by in the evenings. I was struck by how quiet the neighborhood was, and how little the traffic on Franklin affected us. The location was so convenient, we could walk everywhere, including dinner, grocery store, beach, even with our beach chairs and towels in tow. The main post office is across the street, and that made for some early morning loading noise, but no one in our party was particularly bothered. Thank you for offering this charming property!
