The Bunkies on Boathouse Row - designed by Historical Concepts - are nestled in a charming lakefront location within River Dunes, an award-winning master planned community that embraces gathering spaces, spectacular water views, year-round boating and outdoor living. The cottage courtyard is beautifully landscaped with classic southern favorites, shared fire pit and fantastic views of Grace Harbor.

Little Pearl Cottage is a one bedroom, one bath weekend getaway part of the Southern Living Inspired Community on Boathouse Row. This cottage is furnished with a king size bed, comfortable sitting area, kitchenette and table as well as basic cable and Wi-Fi. Screened porch and shared fire-pit overlook the harborview location.

Renters enjoy a Guest Membership at the River Dunes Harbor Club and have access to the community pool, clubhouse and outstanding Club Dining Room. The Harbor Village features the new Yawl's Café, Red Rickshaw (a home interior boutique), Wellness & Fitness Center, Spa, Steam and Saunas. The Provision Company in the Village has anything you might need. Come visit us in the sailing capitol of North Carolina for fishing, hunting or just all-around relaxation. Harbor Club Guest Fees are specific to each home.

Beautiful little cottage

Very clean, loved the decor, beautiful homes within River Dunes. There is not much to do outside the development though.

Our Sweetwater Cottage is located in the River Dunes community where you are welcome to enjoy the pool, hot tub, bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, tennis courts, nature trail, and restaurants. This neighborhood is just a 10 minute drive to the Village or Oriental, where you will find delicious local restaurants, coffee shop, brewery, fishing, boating, shopping, and art galleries. Cute But Lacking

We're very familiar with River Dunes and usually book through the property itself. This time we found Little Pearl through through VRBO. The cottage was very cute, well-appointed/decorated and nicely situated on the property. However, in this time when particular attention to detail is given to sanitation and cleanliness, Little Pearl lacked attention to detail. Specifically the bedding was soiled and unwashed. The pillow shams were dirty, as was the duvet cover. Other small details like coffee pods, but no creamer, and no dresser to unpack clothes could also have been addressed. The management was responsive to my email and promised a cleaning crew would show up to address the soiled bedding, but alas no one ever came.

Thank you for your feedback. Once we were informed about the issue, we contacted our housekeeping team to have new bedding delivered to the cottage. However, we were told to disregard the new bedding before housekeeping was able arrive to the cottage. We always want to provide our guests with an enjoyable and relaxing experience. Our cottages are supplied with linens, towels, and kitchen appliances and we encourage guests to bring groceries for their stay. Again, thank you for your feedback. We hope you enjoyed your stay.

Great property, lousy community

The cottage was exactly as pictured, quaint, clean, and comfortable. Check in was simple (key under the mat!). If I could transport the cottage to a different community I would stay in it again. The River Dunes was a complete and utter disappointment. The website bills it as a "bustling harbor village" and nothing could be further from the truth. We arrived on Thursday afternoon. The one shop to buy a snack closed at 5. The restaurant is not open for dinner on Thursday (which I now see IS indicated, sort of, on the website but it certainly wasn't CLEAR). Even though there was a bar, it wasn't staffed. We spoke to an employee and said "we'll see you tomorrow and Saturday for dinner then?" and he said "great". Options were minimal but we drove to Oriental for dinner. On Saturday we spent the day in New Bern, which was fun. We returned to the cottage in the late afternoon. I called to make a dinner reservation and got a voicemail that said "we check this throughout dinner and will call you back". They didn't call so we walked over around 6pm, to find the restaurant closed AGAIN because of a "resident event". The employee we spoke to suggested we drive to New Bern for dinner (it's a 45 minute each way drive that we'd already done). She also explained that the restaurant would not be open for dinner on Saturday night EITHER because of the resident weekend. It was by now after closing time to even buy a microwavable meal at the "Provision Shop". Again, no bar, no coffee shop, no where to get anything so we drove back to Oriental for a horrible dinner and checked out a day early, forfeiting the cost of one night and incurring a hotel cost elsewhere. Maybe the Harbor Club is 'bustling' in season? but I honestly wouldn't recommend it.

Little Pearl is located in the Harbor Community of River Dunes which can be found just outside of Oriental NC- the sailing capital of North Carolina. The River Dunes Community does have several amenities that are available to guests including access to the community pool (during summer months), tennis courts, bikes, Yawls Place and the Harbor Club restaurant. The community does host a variety of events throughout the year and also has seasonal hours which can impact the onsite dining options. However, Oriental is located just 10-15 minutes from Little Pearl and has multiple dining options available year round as well as shopping, art galleries, a brewery, and coffee shop. We do apologize for the miscommunication that you received during your stay regarding the Harbor Club. We wish that we were aware of your experience before you departed, so we could have improved your stay. Our accommodations agents are on call to assist with our guests needs. Cozy Little Cottage

A little but luxurious quaint cottage in a quiet resort community. Perfect for a weekend getaway. Located in River Dunes, this cottage is walking distance to the marina, restaurants, shops, pool and other amenities. Free bicycles and kayaks are provided free of charge to guests on a first-come first serve basis. We can't wait to go back soon!
