The host was very responsive and helpful! Check in and out was easy. The space was well suited for the number of guests we had staying. The location was awesome and made it easy to get to and from Cherokee street for the jazz crawl.

Great to hear everything went smoothly and the spot worked well for your group. Would love to host you again.
Aptmt was a little hard to find at night. Brighter house numbers would help. Loved the businesses and restaurants along Cherokee. Grocery stores schuncks and aldi were very convenient. Beds were comfortable for all 7 of us. Had a couple of minor issues during the stay. All were addressed and resolved quickly by the person on call. Very happy with our stay and would stay there again.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm so glad everything was comfortable for your family.
Sorry to hear the area wasn’t quite your vibe. We understand that everyone experiences neighborhoods differently. Many guests have enjoyed the local character, but totally get that it’s not for everyone.
The property is very spacious and nicely furnished. You will need a car to get around. I wish there were more towels and a kitchen sponge to wash cups/dishes. Also I wish there were black out curtains in the bedrooms to sleep in in the morning.

Thank you so much for your helpful feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the spacious layout and furnishings of the property.
We do keep extra supplies such as towels and kitchen essentials in the cabinets for guest use, and we truly wish we had been informed during your stay so we could have assisted right away. We also appreciate your suggestion regarding blackout curtains, it's valuable input that we'll take into consideration for future improvements.
We’d love the opportunity to host you again!
Nice house on quiet street. Near several restaurants, grocery store not too far. House was in very good condition, neighboring houses are in various states of restoration. Was an excellent base for our daytrips to attractions in the area.

Nice updated townhouse
The kitchen was fabulous! The downstairs had plenty of room for many family and friends to gather. Each bedroom had plenty of room. The neighborhood is nice and the homes on the block are slowly being updated.

We saw a live rat in the kitchen, which ran under the stove, and found numerous rodent traps throughout the home. The site smelled strongly of marijuana. We left for a hotel without even staying the first night. Though there was plenty of room and sppeared clean, not a clean, the bottoms of the babies feet were black with dirt when we finally put them down for the night.

The property was nice but the neighborhood was not. Lot of abandon homes and did not appear to be safe. Overall property was nice inside.

Thank you for the feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the property.
The Cherokee property itself was exceptional. It was very clean and had everything my family needed. I would definitely choose the property again and would recommend it to my friends. That said, although we had no trouble at all, the neighborhood itself did not appear to be safe. With houses on the street being abandoned, it appeared as if the area was at the beginning stages of gentrification.
Spacious townhome with lots of room for our family. Nicely appointed kitchen for quick meals, we even baked Christmas cookies! Cool historic building with tall ceilings and fun, young, tasteful furnishings. Huge smart TV worked great for movie night. Nice to have a washer and dryer to do a quick load. Walking distance to Cherokee where there are plenty of interesting shops and restaurants. Management was extremely helpful and courteous when we reached out to them.

Thank you so much for the kind review of our home. You were so great to host and we are so happy you chose us! We would love to have you back again for your next trip to St. Louis!
The house itself was clean and spacious, offering the right amount of room for my family. As noted by another guest's review, there is a weed odor when you walk into the home. This did not bother us, but just wanted to point it out. This is a short term rental property attached to a permanent residence. Cannabis is legal in Missouri and people shouldn't have to adjust themselves for guests in their neighborhood. And that is the attitude we had while staying there. We are the guests not only in this home, but this neighborhood. I'm sure it's not comfortable living next to a short term rental. The location itself was ideal for all the attractions we wanted to experience on our vacation, even though the neighborhood isn't quiet as charming as the listing suggests. It's an old neighborhood that is still being cleaned up. I spent a lot of time driving around the neighborhood and noticed a lot of hard work being put into it. If you're from an area that doesn't have a strong police presence or community cameras set up, you won't be comfortable here. I live in such a neighborhood and wasn't bothered by it. Overall we enjoyed our stay and trip to St. Louis.

Skuny weed and rough neighborhood
The space itself was large and accommodating to a big group. Bedding was clean but overall cleanliness was not great. Sticky kitchen floors (sock stuck to floor), bathroom fans layered in dust, couch and carpet worn. Someone sharing a wall must smoke a fair amount as weed smell was present, and was really strong everytime you came in from the outside. Three safety issues for us: 1st the railing at the top of the stairs seems really low and loose (easy fall scenario). 2nd the blinds on main floor did not reach the bottom so visible to interior from the outside. 3rd the neighborhood, there were shots fired and police present on our first night and seeming to be a rough neighborhood. Lots of work going on, so it may be great in next 5 year's, but would not recommend for family stay at this time. Would not book again. PS 5pm check-in, 10am check-out not our favorite.
Communication was great! Even after hours, which seemed like AI at 1st. The place looked mostly clean, later found that our socks turned black so keep your shoes on lol. Took pictures upon arrival of carpet/furniture stains, dents/scracthes etc just in case & they were well received. There were some minor issues, not enough to ask to fix but brought to their attention. Bathroom sink upstairs cold water handle didn't work, shower in 1 upstairs bathroom has low pressure. Shower in other bathroom upstairs doesn't have anywhere to put soap/shampoo etc. Never felt unsafe in neighborhood even tho place next door was boarded up which was concerning at 1st. Street parking wasnt a problem. Handicap only right in front of the place & luckily we have a handicap tag. Would stay again. Wife might add to review if hasnt already.
We have stayed in several properties managed by ABODEbucks and have consistently had great experiences. This visit was no different in terms of communication—ABODEbucks is always super responsive and attentive to our needs.
However, this particular stay was not without its challenges. Upon check-in, we were met with a strong smell of Weed in the house and greeted us every night we returned home. Additionally, one morning, we were disturbed by a smoke detector that could not be turned off.
The neighborhood itself appears to be in a state of transition, with many buildings either abandoned or under construction. While this is understandable, we did experience some concerns regarding safety, with sirens frequently heard throughout the night and even gunshots on a couple of occasions. As a family with kids, this understandably made us a bit uneasy. But, just a few blocks away is Benton Park and Cherokee street which are good. It's just this area is more abandoned.
Despite these issues, we ultimately decided to stay and make the best of our trip. We truly appreciate the efforts of the ABODEbucks team, and we hope that these areas can be addressed for future guests
Great experience everything was comfortable, communication was great! Will be staying again
