Ideal Summer & Winter Villa with Heated Pool & Jacuzzi perfect for Large families celebrating weddings, birthdays or reunions or for one to get away from the hustle & bustle of city life & chill in Constantia Valley surrounded by Mountains, Greenbelts & Wine Farms.

The Villa is fully equipped and tastefully furnished. Each of the six bedrooms have a flat screen TV. Each room accommodates a maximum of two people and is spacious and comfortable.

There are four bathrooms with bath and shower facilities. The Villa is lose to Muizenberg and Hout bay Beach, Table Mountain one of the Seven Wonders of the world, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Top Restaurants & trendy bars and of course the amazing Constatia Wine farms within five minute drive from the villa.

Amazing Stay!!

We absolutely loved LOVED staying at this villa. It is an extremely spacious place with loads of running space for the kids. Athol is also very generous with his grandkids’ toys which were heaven sent for all the kids in our group. Athol himself was a BRILLIANT host and we can’t thank him enough for his hospitality. He was always available for any questions we might have had (and we had quite a few!). Also, a special note for his help with our son needed a doctor.

An excellent place to stay for a large group

The property itself is an excellent place to stay, up to ~30mins drive from most of the best places to visit in cape town. I recommend it for a large family, and we shall definitely look to visit again. I will note that when you are making payment, avoid bank transfers, we had a problem with that and ended up losing half our deposit. Make sure you confirm all instructions on phone, email alone may not be safe enough.

Great Location, Stunning Views, Fantastic Host

We had a great stay at LeBonheur over Christmas and New Year. Our daughter was married at Steenberg and both sides of the family shared the main house. It was great to have the maid service particularly on the day of the wedding with 6 shirts to iron! We had booked the house a full three years in advance and Athol and Tamara had done everything possible to help us source suppliers and generally put our minds at ease. At the last minute some friends had issues with their booked accommodation in Hout Bay and Athol and Tamara pulled out all the stops to assist and let them move into Lemon cottage at very short notice. The house itself is in a stunning setting, the views from the top terrace are very special indeed. Although the pool and hot tub are shared with the other cottages, this was not an issue for us. There are eight padded sun loungers and plenty of other lounging chairs. The grounds are perfect for a family BBQ (Braai!) and the prices of meat etc in the supermarket are very reasonable. Jacko the parrot provided plenty of entertainment to us all and Tamara’s dog Stretch also visited to play around the pool. We found the location to be very convenient, although you do need to drive to get anywhere, there are plentiful restaurants and a shopping centre within 10 minutes. The Waterfront, Hout Bay and Newlands are all an easy 20-25 minute drive. Then of course it is in the middle of the Constantia wine route – it would be rude not to.

Guesthouse not a villa

The description of the property is misleading, it's a guesthouse shared with other people (pool etc), not a private villa. Owner is very friendly and Jacko the bird entertaining. Amenities in the house are very old. The outside area/garden is nice.

Great layout in a superb location

Athol was a great host and accommodated us very well. The main accommodation is spacious and well spread out over a single storey. As we were two families who didn't want to live on top of each other, the layout of the house was great. The location is fantastic, being close to great restaurants, supermarkets, vineyards, local walks and cycle tracks, and not too far from the main attractions of Cape Town.

Lime cottage - excellent property and service

We had a great time both in the spacious Lime cottage which was kept clean and tidy by the wonderful staff. Communal areas are excellent with bars, huge flat screen jacuzzi and a good sized warm pool. Beautiful garden and rooftop terrace with mountain view. City is in easy reach via car or you can pop down to the constantia mall in just 5 minutes.

Meget smuk og velindrettet bolig med masser af charm. Alt fungeret godt og værten (samt manageren) var meget hjælpsom og nem at få fat i, hvis vi havde spørgsmål. Lovely location for larger groups staying together

Everything fine. Very friendly host. The five of us stayed in the cottage and could have nice privacy while at the same time enjoy the excellent communal areas (bars/pool/kitchen/living room) with the rest of the family. Cleaning and washing was top-notch.

Athol and Tammy accommodated me at very short notice and in the middle of winter when they weren't really open - their hospitality and helpfulness was greatly appreciated. I had a wonderfully nurturing two days there - amidst rainstorms - but was kept warm and snug in a lovely comfortable cottage that contained everything I needed. Wonderful Winter Vacation in Constantia Cape Town

I loved staying at Le Bonheur Villa. I stayed longer than anticipated. I originally booked to stay for a few days which ended up being a two month stay. It was perfect for me travelling solo in the Winter months. The bed was most comfortable and the space was cosy. When it rained, I took the opportunity to catch up on some movies on the satellite channel offering. I love taking long walks. Le Bonheur is a stones throw from Bel Ombre Greenbelt which is a beautiful stretch of green grass and trees, ideal for leisurely walks. There are mountain biking & horse trails and it feels like you are in the countryside but with breathtaking views of the backdrop of Table Mountain and the Constantiaberg. I attached some photos to give every traveller an accurate indication of how lush and green everything is, after the much needed Winter rainfalls the Cape is known for. This brings me to the efforts that my host, Athol has worked hard at achieving a water and energy efficient eco environment to beat the challenges of water restrictions. He has solar heating as well as a borehole, but has also gone to great lengths of informing all his guests by educating them on how to best conserve water and at the same time have an enjoyable vacation. I will be taking some of the tips home that I learned. All in all, my time at Le Bonheur was a memorable experience. I will be recommending this lovely property with its manicured gardens to all my friends and family. Thank you Athol and your kind staff!

Wonderful Welcoming Homebase in Constantia

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Athol's home in Constantia. It is a wonderful, sunny spot with great outdoor space and huge amounts of room for large parties to spread out and stay out of each other's hair. Athol was a great host helping us with any issues but giving us our space most of the time. I would highly recommend this booking to those visiting Cape Town, especially if you are looking for a homebase for your family as you explore the sites around town.

Das Haus ist wunderbar zentral und ruhig gelegen und aufgrund der hervorragenden Küche, aber auch der excellenten Lage zu den vielen Restaurants bestens für Selbstversorger und andere Gäste geeignet. Athol und sein Team kümmern sich rührend um die Gäste und das Haus. Jako ist oft der "King" aller Gäste. Der Blick auf die Rückseite des Tafelberges zu allen Tageszeiten traumhaft, am schönsten zum Sonnenaufgang. Wir kommen 2018 gern wieder.

Beautiful house

Le Bonheur Guesthouse that sleeps 12 people is excellent for a big family. The rooms are neat, spacious and have all the necessary equipment. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is absolutely perfect for cooking a feast. All cutlery and utensils you can think of are available. The house is secure and has a beautiful garden and other facilities. The presence of the owner in the property also makes staying at the house very hospitable because he's always available to address issues as they arise. You won't be bothered by his presence because he stays at the back and will not be on your face. He's also very friendly. However, if it is the Jacuzzi and the heated pool that attracts you to the place, be sure to visit the place when the weather is hot because the solar power used by the property only provides those services when it's hot. Also inform the owner of your showering times because the geysers are timed in terms of when to start heating up the water. The fact that the TV's in the bedrooms only have minimal channels and what you watch in your room is determined by what the other guests in the other rooms want to watch is a minor issue because you can still get all channels in the main lounge. Cape Town is generally having water shortages and don't be surprised if you get there and you're restricted on the use of bath tubs. Nonetheless, my family had a great time at Le Bonheur Guesthouse and recommend it for families needing comfortable, spacious, quiet and friendly environment. Tumi

Wonderful place to stay

Le Bonheur is a wonderful place to stay in the Cape Town area. It is closed to all important attractions. The place is very beautifull and very clean. The kitchen was was amazing and equipped with everything (better than ours at home ;-). There are many places to stay and relax in the Le bonheur Environment. A great way to start a trip to South Africa

The Property is very well located in a quiet area 15 minutes away for the city center and a short reach to some great wineries. Athol is a the best host you can ask for and he will be glad to help you with all your questions. We weren't able to use the pool and hot tub because of a storm a few days before but Jacko was a good compensation.

Spacious, versatile and luxurious

Le Bonheur is well situated and has a stunning view of the mountains, quiet but central, Constatia Village and Kirstenbosch gardens but 5 min. away. We were an extended family of 10 and had ample room to relax in the many sitting locations and lounges in the house. The kitchen is very well equipped and we wanted for nothing (with the range of age groups, we had a diverse need for different equipment - all to be had). The bedrooms are very comfortable, main en suite, and generally the house is very clean and maintained by friendly staff who also wash and iron! Athol met us and gave us a run down on the house as well as always being available for our needs and tips for where to do what, an excellent host. A heated pool and jacuzzi are available as well as a roof-top terrace for sundowners, great. Masses of fridge room and bar facilities are available. I would recommend this to anyone no matter what one is looking for, a truely versatile villa.

It is private and secure, yet welcoming and accommodating at the same time. We loved being close enough to shops, beautiful wineries, amazing walking tracks and all that Cape Town has to offer, yet set back from the noise of traffic etc in what is clearly one of the most lavish suburbs in South Africa. my wife and I....and our 20 month old son enjoyed every minute of our stay at LeBonheur having chosen to stay in one of the beautifully renovated cottages (Lime Cottage) on the property, adjacent to the main house. Our host, Athol, was never far if we needed anything, and always welcoming and keen to be of service. We will most certainly be returning, and have already recommended LeBonheur to friends of ours here in Sydney Australia. Top marks for a top place to stay in Africa's most enjoyable city, Cape Town!

Truly, home away from home!

Beautiful holiday home for our large family

We hosted 14 of our family members from the United States at Le Bonheur. We had an excellent stay! The property is beautiful, and its views of the Table Mountain range are amazing. The owner, Athol, was very responsive to our needs and easy to work with. The house is just a 5-minute drive from Constantia Village, where our family could shop for groceries and things they needed for the house. Constantia is a great location—central to much of what Cape Town has to offer.
