Beautiful 1860s early settlers cottage

Step back in time to life as it was in the 1860s. Stay on the stunning Otago Peninsula in this genuine 1860s cottage that is warm and bright with comfortable beds.
SETTLERS COTTAGE:
Our cottage is self-catering and self-contained. A table, kitchen bench/counter and couch are provided. The floorboards are original kauri! Kitchen facilities include toaster oven, double hotplate, toaster, microwave, electric kettle and a large fridge freezer. Don’t forget to purchase your food before arriving. Supermarkets are in Dunedin although Portobello has a small well-equipped store. Depending on the time of year, there is a good chance you will be able to eat some vegies from the spray free garden at your front door. The modern bathroom has a shower and beautiful stained glass inserts in the ceiling. There are many books, novels, magazines, cards, games, TV and free wifi. Tea, coffee is supplied.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE TWO COTTAGE BEDROOMS (DOUBLE AND TWO SINGLE BED ROOMS) ARE ONLY ACCESSABLE VIA A LOFT LADDER WHICH MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE (SEE PHOTO)

LOCATION:
The perfect location just minutes away from penguin, albatross & wildlife colonies, famous Larnach Castle, spectacular clear night skies and all other activities and sights on the iconic Otago Peninsula.
A 30 minute drive from Dunedin City and 50 minutes from the airport.

Cosy Settlers Cottage

Delightful experience in the cottage and friendly hosts. Flowers on the table and eggs and milk in the fridge was very welcoming. Worked for four adults, but living space is limited and need to be aware of access to attic bedrooms.

Gateway to the Peninsula!

We loved staying in this quirky, characterful cottage in a beautiful setting on the doorstep to all the places and activities we wanted to experience on the peninsula. The cottage is an experience in itself and if you are the person sleeping upstairs you need to be prepared to climb up and down a stair ladder into a loft space that is confined. The living space is small so you had better like the people staying with you! It is quaint and charming, warm and welcoming. Highly recommended.
