Older than expected
Over all it was ok, we didn't spend alot of time here. It's an older house that has been added onto.
The cabin was very comfortable for our family of 6 with our dogs. Lots of seating and places to play games and keep the kids entertained. The beds are comfy and bathrooms updated. The kitchen was very well appointed for preparing our Thanksgiving meal and Thomas was immediately available and helpful with questions we had. The neighborhood is great for walking the dogs!
Property was exactly as pictured. Wonderful main floor with space to play games, share a meal, or enjoy the views. Easily accessible from the main road, but I can see how 4-wheel-drive is needed for winter.
You can tell hard work went into updating the property & it shows. Bathrooms are updated, so is kitchen. Would absolutely return for another stay!
We really enjoyed our stay. The home had everything we needed and was very cozy! Spent Christmas Day + a day. Easy access to the property, even though there was a good amount of snow. This further added to the mountain ambience. Roads were plowed into the sub-division. 2 ways in, up a fairly steep hill which definitely required 4WD and an easier grade further toward the north. Would recommend! Thanks much!

Beautiful house and amazing views!
We loved staying at this beautiful VRBO. The kitchen was very well equipped and the beds were super comfy. It was unfortunate that we did not have access to the washer and dryer. My group and I of course did a lot of outdoor activities and would’ve loved a mid week wash. Also dealing with the trash at the end of the stay was a nightmare. We are from out of town and had no idea how to dispose of our trash. The instructions were not very helpful
We decided on taking a vacation last min and this spot was priced right with the right amount of rooms for my family . It’s pet friendly which is amazing because we take our little dog everywhere. The only bad thing I could say is that there was no washer and dryer but there is a laundry mat nearby . When you walk in, there’s a boot room which had a bit of a smell but it’s a BOOT ROOM so that’s expected. It didn’t bother my family one bit . Overall I’d say it was amazing and would go again .
Great Stay with Amazing Views and a Top-Notch Kitchen
We loved our stay and spent a lot of time enjoying the beautiful balcony views. The kitchen is top-notch—if you enjoy cooking, you'll feel right at home. The propane grill was perfect for our July 4th cookout.A couple of notes for future guests:There is no washer and dryer available for guest use. It wasn’t listed in the amenities, but I made an assumption—that one’s on me, but I wanted to mention it to help others plan accordingly.Unfortunately, it seems a previous guest used the lower level as a kennel and locked their dogs down there. It’s a shame to see a rental treated that way. That said, the property manager, Thomas, was fantastic—quick to respond and great to work with. If you’re on the fence about booking this place, I’d say go for it. It’s a peaceful spot, perfect for a quiet family getaway, while still close to RMNP, the three lakes, and a charming town that isn’t overrun with tourists.

Great place, great pricing.
This was a fabulous place for a weekend in the mountains. Very comfortable accommodations, warm and light from big windows for great views. Deck is a great place for coffee in the morning. Propane fireplace easy to use and great heat output. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is remarkably well outfitted.
The listing indicated they have been updating and remodeling and it is obvious with really cool conduction stove top and what not. It is rustic, yet modern and gives all the comforts of home.
Since this address is a large lot, our siri kept telling us we arrived, yet we didn't see the address. It is because streets are on 3 sides of the property. It just took us a minute to figure that out. Take the listing serious that 4 WD is needed in winter and in mud season.
Property misrepresented as “NEW! Newly renovated etc.
Upon arriving at the property we went in looking forward to a fun restful week with our family. Upon opening the front door we smelled a strong unpleasant pinesol type odor. The front door opened to a storage type room. The ovens were in this room. Not in what was described as the fully equipped kitchen. The 2 bathrooms were sloppy. They had toilet brushes laying on the floor behind the toilets, old dirty bath mats, blue paint sloppily painted on the walls that was also on the white ceiling. The baseboards were very dirty. The carpet in the bedrooms was stained therefore looked dirty. Blanket on

Response from VrboOwner on 29 Sept 2022
From the Owner:
-The home was never advertised as “NEW,” and a quick view of the pictures can confirm it is not new. It has received nearly $100k in renovations over the last 9 years, though we still have plenty more to do.
-We don’t use pine sol in the house, but there are plenty of pines in the surrounding area. The front entry goes through a mud room, which is great when you need to take off muddy shoes, jackets, etc., before walking into the house.
-The kitchen is fully equipped and the oven was placed in the adjacent room to allow for an open concept while offering our guests a full-sized double oven that you can reach while still standing in the kitchen.
- The house is cleaned before every stay, including the bath mats. The carpets were brand new as of March 2022 and were steam cleaned recently.
-Most of the home does not have baseboards, and we found the ones that are there, to be quite clean upon inspection.
We also offered a partial refund even though the guest was well past the cancellation period.

Good location
I enjoyed the location of this property. The beds were good. However, there were things that could be improved.
I understand this is a property that accepts dogs but the furniture was covered in animal fur. This should be vacuumed as part of the cleaning fee/pet fee that is charged. The carpets had urine stains, that should have been cleaned as well. There was an awful smell coming from the garbage disposal that needs to be addressed. The bathroom upstairs sink had a really slow drain that should’ve been fixed.
I’m surprise with the cost of the cleaning fee there was so much that was not clean. If this property had the proper cleaning I think it would have been a more enjoyable visit.
The owner was responsive to issues we had which I appreciated.
We did lose power the last night briefly, but it came back on thankfully.
This worked really well for a family weekend that included our young adult “kids” and infant and toddler grandkids. The house was well stocked with supplies, kitchen utensils, spices, games and activities around the house. Thomas was very responsive whenever I had questions.
I liked that it was two bedrooms upstairs and a bathroom, and one bedroom and a bathroom downstairs. This gave just enough separation when needed. It’s good to know that there is no door to close off the stairs going to the basement. I am glad we had thought ahead and brought a baby gate.
There were a couple of small appliances missing that we would’ve liked to of used, a toaster, and a hairdryer, but Thomas was very responsive and thought that they were in the unit. I’m sure they will be either found or replaced soon.
Overall, it was comfortable, clean, well stocked, and a great place to stargaze at night. It was also a quick drive to Shadow Mountain Lake. We thoroughly enjoyed renting a pontoon boat for half a day from Trail Ridge Marina, just down the road from this house.

Overall good
Overall we had a very nice stay. The house is cute and you can tell they have tried to make it so. A few cosmetic things that can still be worked on- trim/ doors etc. -that would really improve the feel. The wheels cam off for us as we were preparing to leave. Our daughters were complaining of a "smell" in one of the upstairs bedrooms. We were stripping the beds, as requested and discovered stains all over the mattress in the girls bedroom. Upon further examination there appeared to be stains on the carpet as well. I guess we discovered where the smell was coming from.
Oh my, this place was great!
Nice location to everything , Grand lake downtown, lakes to fish , Rocky Mountain National Park . Very Nice Host Thomas responded right away to our questions . The cabin was priced just right . This place is very comfortable and cozy . The Great view of Shadow mountain Lake from wrap around porch . Just loved it . We will be back . Thank you so much.
