Enjoy and relax in this classic beach 1 bed / 2 bath beach cottage on a single, ground floor that has been updated throughout. Perfect for small families on a budget that want to be 2 blocks from the beach in the classic beach community of the Newport Beach Peninsula.
Summer 2026 (Late June to mid-August) stays are 7 night rentals and run Saturday to Saturday (July 4th will run Sunday to Sunday).

Located less than two short blocks from the best stretch of beach in town one direction, and just steps from Channel Park in the other direction, all basic details have been planned and executed so that you can enjoy your stay. Probably the most visible feature is the front patio with a privacy barrier, providing a spacious indoor/outdoor mix of seating and entertainment as the patio blends into the living, dining and kitchen areas. Tastefully-appointed furnishings have been carefully chosen for a monochromatic setting that is relaxing, yet energizing at the same time: the perfect combination for any successful vacation stay!

Dog friendly with an enclosed and gates front yard. Pet fee of $100 per dog, maximum of two dogs due to space.
The living room and outdoor patio are separated a door to create wide-open space that the entire family can use to enjoy the cool ocean breezes. The living room has a large flatscreen TV with streaming services so you can keep up with the game or the news. The living room also features a queen sized sofa bed for additional guests. Just a few steps from the main living area, the express kitchen serves basic cooking and dining essentials - which is fully stocked with cooking/dining gear. You can choose to cook your meal on the outdoor grill or in the kitchen!
As you continue through the house, the master bedroom has a Queen bed and private bathroom with a shower. There is a closet with ample space for clothes.
Our bathrooms are on the small side, but are well-equipped with amentiies to make your stay enjoyable. The first bathroom has a shower and the second bathroom has a shower, but is built into a small catch-tub that can be used for small children.
To fulfill the sleeping arrangements for 4 total guests, please consider that the pullout living room sofa is a queen sized bed, best suited for 2 people.
Past the bedroom is a rear patio activitiy room that is fully enclosed that also leads to a fenced in rear patio/parking area. This room is stocked with books, games, and other activities that can be enjoyed at our small beach cottage.
Please be aware that this is entirely a non-smoking property, including the front patio.
To maximize the indoor space there are private laundry facilities are conveniently located on the side of the house.
PARKING: There is a parking space on the inside of the rear gate and a car can also be parked in the alley provided it is a small car and doesn't block the alley. General neighborhood street parking (metered or unmetered) also in area.

Summer Rentals are typically 7 night minimum and arrivals and departures are on SUNDAY IN JUNE/JULY and on Saturday in AUGUST. If you have specific dates in mind, please reach out to us and we will try to make them work!
Locals know the three-mile-long stretch with the harbor on one side and broad, sandy California beaches on the other as “the Peninsula.” The Balboa Peninsula has two piers with a view of a shoreline, surfers, and sunbathers spanning for miles. A walk straight down Main Street brings you to the historic Balboa Pavilion.
The Balboa Peninsula has many sit down restaurants and quick food stops for people hitting the sand for a day at Balboa Beach, and the variety of bars and live music makes the Peninsula a regional nightlife destination. Some of the places locals hang out for good seafood and a casual fun atmosphere are the Crab Cooker and Woody’s Wharf. Anglers can bring home dinner from one of the sport-fishing vessels and whale watching enthusiasts can see some of nature’s most beautiful creatures up close, as Balboa Peninsula rentals and adventure boats launch early and often. But a trip to the Peninsula wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Balboa Fun Zone, where the Ferris wheel has stood for years!

The host left a personalized card with wine and locally made chips! It was great for my daughter (2yo) to stay and have such close access to the beach, short walk to Newport pier, and a playground literally right outside our window. The kitchen had all the necessary stuff to cook meals for ourselves. I would definitely stay here again!
Loved the location and the home was just the right size for us and our son. However, our bed had sand between the sheets, indicating that it had not been cleaned between stays. Otherwise the house was clean.
Best Friends who used to live in Orange County and have now moved out of state back for a relaxing vacation, beach time and visiting friends and family still in the area. Brought my new puppy who is a year old so the dog park across the street was perfect!
Lovely location. Ants in bathroom coming in. I know that can just happen. I couldn’t figure out trash. Nice to have beach chairs provided and beach towels. Lighting a little odd and bedroom was warm for me in the night. Overall a lovely stay and much preferred to a hotel.
Good price for 2 blocks from the beach. Comfy bed. It was nice to have plenty of counter space in the bathrooms, something that is sorely lacking in most rentals. The front patio is a great place to relax. The park next door is definitely a plus with dogs. Try the Il Farro Italian restaurant near the Newport pier, the Snipe Island Crafthouse on Balboa Island, and Siam Station for Thai food.
Very nice place! Enough space to relax for a night in if you want, with a good kitchen and living space to hang out in. Walking distance from beach, pier, and tons of good food/drink. Also a basketball court right across the street!

Great find for the price!
This is a classic little beach cottage that has been cleaned and updated. The location is great and a super-quick walk to the beach or the park. It was clean and ready for us when we arrived, just as advertised. Great find for the price.

We stayed at this property over Memorial Day. The location cannot be beat- we had a wonderful time playing the board games and relaxing between the beach and the patio. Our 4- legged friend probably had the best time of his life. The beach and dog friendly park made for an easy life.

Came to get our dogs out the 116 degree Arizona heat. Great location, easy to walk to everything you need. My dogs enjoyed the small beach and park right across the street. Scott the host was quick to answer any questions.
My friend and I traveled to California to attend the Darker Waves Concerts in Huntington Beach.
This cozy little cottage was located far enough away from the event. It was quiet and peaceful in Newport Beach.
We enjoyed walking over to the beach and down to the pier. Lots of great food places and things to see.
It was a comfortable stay, and the owner was very responsive.
Cute cottage at a great location. Two blocks from the beach. Nicely outfitted close to restaurants and easily accessible from Pacific Coast Highway. Scott is a great host. Kind, efficient and responsive. Came here initially for 10 days and ended up spending a month.
This is an ideal property in a great location, surprisingly quiet, and very close to the beach and a little park. The house has many thoughtful touches, comfortable seating inside, and nice patio furniture outside as well. The bed was great and there was plenty of closet space for clothes. Unlike other beach cottages, this home was adequately insulated and thankfully, the heater worked well and was quiet. We visited in February, which was rather cool but it was a good time to enjoy the beach without many people. We would definitely stay here again!

Sweet Place
This classic little cottage was perfect for us! Had everything you needed. The location is the kicker. Quiet, close to stuff, bur away from tourists and the craziness of being closer to the pier. Having the park across the street to run our pooch was a big plus too, even though it is not an official dog park and a local mentioned you can get ticketed if you're not holding the leash. Would definitely come back!

Newport Beach Bungalow
Location was awesome. Being a pet friendly rental was great. We will definitely be back. I have never used Itrip before but I would definitely recommend it to others. We were 110 percent satisfied with the representation of the property and its amenities. The instructions were clear and made everything super easy to check in and out. Thank you so much Scott.
The property was exactly as photographed and described. Just the two of us enjoyed spacious comfort. We used the ottomans in the back sun room as luggage stands. Excellent email and text communications throughout our stay. So convenient to the beach. We enjoyed a lot of beach walking. Upon departing to return home to Denver, the rental car needed only 2.5 gallons to fill up the tank!
Funky 40's (?) vintage beach house. Basically sound but could use some TLC. Convenient to restaurants, coffee shop, small park, and the beach, of course. Although getting to the beach requires crossing a busy 4 lane street. Outdoor areas (patios) in front and back of the house. Off street parking. More than 3 people in this property would be too many.
