Constructed in 2022, this stunning guest cottage offers 1000-sf of cozy luxury. Timber beams, soaring ceilings with clerestory windows, & a free-standing gas fireplace provide the classic Scandinavian cottage experience. Set in a private forested landscape, just minutes from BC Ferries & quaint town of Sidney by the Sea. Ideal for nature lovers, cyclists, creatives, digital nomads, or families with pets (1 dog).

Interior:
The Cottage was inspired by our Danish heritage & careers in architecture & the hospitality industry. We designed & decorated it with Hygge in mind ~ with quality finishes & furnishings, modern amenities, & a Scandi-rustic vibe that oozes comfort.

The great room is warmed by a high-efficiency Valor Gas Fireplace. A mix of vintage decor & modern amenities creates a sense of calm, comfort, & luxury. High-speed Internet, Optic TV, & streaming services (Netflix, Disney & Prime) will keep everyone entertained.

The fully equipped kitchen offers premium appliances & quality cookware, including 4 brewing options for your morning coffee...Keurig, Drip, Espresso & French Press. Fresh coffee, a selection of teas, & a generous supply of cooking staples are stocked for your convenience.

Enjoy a relaxing soak in the extra-long Hytec soaker tub, complete with bath salts & peppermint body wash. Both bedrooms offer custom cedar headboards, premium mattresses with 3" memory foam toppers, 100 % cotton sheets & soft duvets.

Exterior:
The Cottage is nestled at the rear of our 1.5-acre property, offering complete privacy from the main house where we reside. The fully covered porch can be enjoyed year-round with Adirondack chairs, blankets & a Weber BBQ (alfresco dining table from May-Oct). The private yard invites you to reconnect with nature around a string-lit gas firepit area & a 1-acre forest to explore with Fido & the kids.

Family & Pet Friendly:
We welcome families with children & will prepare The Cottage according to your needs. Please note the cottage is not equipped with infant/child safety devices. The yard & adjacent forest are not fenced & there is an active creek during the fall/winter. Children should be supervised at all times.

The Cottage welcomes one house-trained, well-behaved dog or two dogs under 20 lbs. Please add your +dog (s) to your reservation. An additional pet cleaning fee of $50 per stay will be added.

Other things to note:
Parking for 2 vehicles directly in front. A fully lit entry with an electronic keypad makes self-check-in a breeze. There are 4 shallow steps up to the entry door & off the deck to the patio area. The inside of the cottage is all on one level.

Amazing cottage stay

My family had an amazing stay at this cottage. It was definitely one of the top rentals we have ever stayed in. The property had everything you needed and more and was beautifully decorated. We would highly recommend this property and would love to stay here again.

Cottage getaway

This is a beautiful property. Hosts are lovely and the “cottage” is absolutely perfect! Very thoughtfully and tastefully equipped with everything you could need. Everything is new and beds are very comfortable. We will be back!

A cozy adventure launch pad

We’ve stayed at many VRBOs, and this was by far the most thoughtfully designed property we’ve been to. The design evokes relaxation and coziness - perfect for a romantic getaway. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook delicious meals. Our dogs enjoyed the porch almost as much as us! We went to multiple beaches and saw seals, starfish, crabs, and most as well as getting on a hike and out kayaking. Highly recommend The Cottage!

Beautiful cottage in great location. All the comforts of home and then some. Attentive hosts. We missed the binder with all the details until the morning we left. Make sure you find, looked like a lot of good info. Lots of nice features in the cottage and most all the kitchen items you will need. Several coffee options. Beds are comfy.

Having worked in architecture & the hospitality industry, we had very specific ideas on how it would look and feel to our guests. Our Danish heritage is reflected in everything we do, including how we designed & decorated this little gem. One defining characteristic of Danish culture is called "Hygge" (Hooga), that of contentment & coziness. We trust you will experience this throughout your stay.

"Lands End" in North Saanich is located on the Saanich Peninsula on Vancouver Island. Said to be one of the finest rural-residential communities in all of Canada, it hosts an abundance of quiet beaches, walking/hiking trails, cycling routes, wineries & country markets. Surrounded by a long coastline on three sides, it offers quick access to B.C. Ferris, the gulf islands, & the quaint seaside town of Sidney.
