Golden Bay retreat

My son (who lives in Sweden) and I spent a couple of nights at Parapara heights. The accommodation was lovely, the owners were both friendly and helpful and the view was sensational...it was hard to leave!

Special place with beautiful views

We had a wonderful stay at this special spot in Golden Bay. The views of the estuary and bay were absolutely stunning, with ever-changing light and beauty throughout the day. The location is perfect—close to Collingwood and Farewell Spit, yet peaceful and secluded. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the shower was one of the best we've experienced.A highlight was listening to Ruru calling at night and watching a lightning storm move across the bay after dark—an unforgettable experience. On clear nights, the stargazing is incredible. This place truly feels like a little slice of paradise. We hope to return!

We've just returned from a fantastic 3 night stay at Parapara Heights. The accommodation is absolutely faultless with all the mod cons, good size for the family, clean, dog-friendly and it has stunning views. Mark and Tracey are the perfect hosts (not forgetting Ziggy and Sam the dogs of course!) Always happy to help, but leaving you well alone to relax. The view from the deck is fantastic, with amazing bush before you, Farewell Spirit could be seen in the distance, and the only noises we heard were the local wildlife. We wanted somewhere the family could just unwind for a few days, and we were not disappointed. A quick note. There is a gravel track to the property that I struggled to get our fully loaded 2.0 litre SUV up. Mark managed to do it for us no bother (so it's probably my driving!!) but it's worthy of a mention. We would return in a heartbeat.
