Perfect cabin for our family. Love the dock and easy access. Cabin is well kept. Kitchen is well stocked. Owner is very responsive and nice. Can’t wait to come again next year!
Plenty of space for everyone to enjoy their stay at Watauga Lake! We loved jumping off the top deck into the water and all the water toys were so fun to use! The pool table and 2nd kitchen made for an easygoing environment for both kids and adults! Plus we are able to have an early check in which made for more fun on the water! We will definitely book this particular home again and hopefully soon!! Thank you!
Very beautiful location on lake. House was idea for family: pool table/gathering area, hot tub, paddleboard or sitting around enjoying peace and quiet scenery
We loved the extra porch (entertainment space) during our stay at this lake house! Kitchenware and other household items need a bit of updating. Dock was fantastic! Outdoor stairs may be a bit much for young children and seniors. Host was very responsive. Very close to Cove Ridge Marina if you would like to rent a boat. Overall a positive experience.
Joey's property had everything that we needed, and we were sad to leave. We're already planning our next trip back! The Hot Tub, Pool Table, and 2-story Dock were the best amenities, but the home itself was also a star and had everything we needed.

Amazing get Away!
We had a great ladies weekend here. We were looking for somewhere in between D.C. and Atlanta, and are so glad we found this beautiful area and wonderful home. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We spent most of our time sitting in the hot tub or on the dock taking in the views. We can’t wait to come back in the summer to take advantage of the beautiful lake.
The house was very clean, linens provided, and the kitchen has everything you need. There was plenty of space, we had 5 adults and 1 small dog. We put our boat in at Little Milligan, it was a short distance to the house. The house has a nice dock. The steps down to the dock are a little challenging, but my 83 year old parents made the trip several times a day. This was our 2nd stay in this home and we look forward to next year.
We stayed for a week with our teenage boys. It was wonderful. Joey, the owner, was very responsive to questions. The house was very clean, and the kitchen was well-stocked with appliances, kitchen utensils, etc. Our boys loved having their own rooms and the room my husband and I used was absolutely lovely, with its own balcony facing the lake and the hot tub. The lake is stunning. The water was clean, and the lake was calm. There wasn't a lot of boat traffic during our stay, which we were happy with. We spent most of our time on the dock and my kids loved jumping in the water and swimming. Please note the lake is very deep with a steep drop off, so inexperienced swimmers should use a life jackets, which were provided by the owner. While there is not much to do in the immediate surrounding area, a short drive gets you into Johnson City, and just an hour away is Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina. If you are looking for a nice, relaxing vacation on a beautiful lake, then this is the perfect place!

Good Stay
I really like the location of the lake house, the dock, parking level entry, large living space, hot tub, and comfort of the upstairs bed. The outdoor equipment and furniture need updating. The host communicated quickly when I asked a question and when the power went out the first night I was there, which was appreciated. I do think he should tell people about the damaged area of the deck from a fallen tree as to it not be a surprise when arriving. While its location is somewhat remote, there was a small restaurant close by that had very good food which was a bonus for me not to have to cook a lot. There are lots of hiking opportunities nearby and the lake water level was low but you could still enjoy the lake. I just had to be careful on the steep entry to the dock but overall a great vacation.
This is a great location and wonderful dock set up on the lake. Home owner was very quick to respond and very accommodating. That being said there were a few issues ..... The equipment (kayaks and paddle boards) are old and in need of replacement. It is an older house that is very comfortable but could benefit from some extra attention and replacement of old shelving and kitchen gear . The pool room area cooking griddle really needs to be cleaned to eliminate the odor from past people cooking on it and not cleaning it. These are easy fixes and the attentive home owner will surely remedy these issues as they seem very willing to keep guests happy.
Great location in a peaceful neighborhood. The house was very clean and well-stocked with towels, linens, and other basics. We had plenty of room for 5 adults and 1 small dog, and the internet service was great. The covered outdoor area with a kitchen was a plus. There are about 59 steps going down to the dock, but my elderly parents in their early 80's navigated just fine. The area is peaceful for early morning dog walks or just sitting/fishing on the dock. We put our boat in at Little Milligan Boat Ramp which is a relatively short distance from the rental home. The dock at the rental home has an easy-access boat slip. The home has several outside decks where you can sit and relax, even while it's raining. Or you can relax in the hot tub! We only needed limited interaction with the host prior to our visit and he responded immediately with answers to our questions. We will definitely look at this house again for next year's visit to Watauga Lake!
