About this property
Algiers Point Historic 2BD Beauty Steps to Ferry
Summary: Freshly renovated historic Algiers Point 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home. Just two blocks to the ferry! Featuring tons of the historic charm, but updated with all the modern conveniences one could ask for. Soaring 12-foot ceilings and antique heart pine floors throughout. Wonderful front porch, courtyard out back. Located close to playgrounds, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, the ferry terminal, and more. Come relax and live like a local in The Point!
The Space: The house features 2 bedrooms, full bathroom, fully stocked kitchen, and formal living and dining rooms. The dining room includes a large table to enjoy meals around and also has a dedicated work/desk station that is ideal for remote workers. Wifi is fast and reaches throughout the home. The lovely front porch is perfect for relaxing with a drink, and in the back is an enclosed patio/courtyard complete with a fire-pit.
Both bedrooms include "Comphy Brand" spa quality sheets and are "shotgunned". Please note the term 'shotgunned' means you have to walk through one room to get to the next, there is not a hallway. This is a distinctly classic style of New Orleans architecture. Private washer/dryer below unit on the ground level. Also, please note the front porch and courtyard are shared with the one unit next door.
Guest Access: This home is a double (duplex) so it shares a dividing wall in the middle. Guests can park one car in the driveway right out front. Other than that the neighborhood is all free street parking. This neighborhood is exceptionally walkable and only 2 blocks from the ferry terminal.
The Neighborhood: Historic Algiers Point has a friendly small-town feel—a community where neighbors all know each other. The neighborhood is lined with mature live oak trees and is exceptionally walkable. There are lots of local restaurants, coffee shops, bars, etc. all within walking distance from the home. Algiers Point is surrounded by water and Federal City, so it sometimes feels like a little island, but it is just a five-minute ferry ride from the CBD and French Quarter, so it's the best of both worlds. This home is only two blocks to the ferry terminal or a 10-minute drive to downtown New Orleans.

This home is not only absolutely beautiful but cozy and comfortable too! A short walk to the ferry, restaurants and bars. Quiet location, very clean and management was wonderful. We will definitely be staying here again! Highly recommended

Thanks for staying with us and we hope to host you again!
Typical NOLA shotgun house on a quiet street. Inside was clean, including the bathroom. We enjoyed this one being raised up while sitting on the front porch. Would book again!!

Thanks for staying with us and we hope to host you again!
We came to town for a family event. The location could not have been better. The owner was easily available both before and during our stay and always replied quickly.
They reached out to me about our stay and I mentioned a kitchen item that was missing. The owner had one delivered quickly.
Overall, we had a great stay. The only negative was the lack of a dishwasher and having to hand wash the dishes...but it's an older home and that isn't unusual.
I would recommend staying in this house to anyone visiting the area.

Thanks for staying with us and we hope to host you again!
This is the fourth time I've stayed on Algiers Point when visiting New Orleans. I just fell in love with the area and enjoy the local restaurants and bars, as well as the relaxation of taking the ferry every morning. This is my favorite location. Quick walk to everything. I love the colors of the house - so cheery. Inside, everything was clean and functional. The kitchen has a nice stove/fridge and microwave and is stocked with utensils, pots, pans and basic spices. Bring coffee and coffee supplies. The bathroom had basics. I loved the clawfoot tub/shower but must admit, I'm a bit short to get in and out easily. I made it work pretty easily - just something to get used to. Loved the front porch for morning coffee. There is also an area in the back yard to hang out, but we didn't use that this time. There is parking for one car in front - not in the driveway but in front. Even if that wasn't there, plenty of parking. Our fave breakfast spot - Tout de Suite is just a block or so away. Great way to start the day before hitting the ferry. Hope to return next year!
