A delightful place to stay. We loved it. Can’t beat the view, loved watching the deer and bunnies in the yard, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again.
We loved our stay! Spent a few evenings just relaxing on the deck watching ships go by in the Strait. A couple deer strolled by early one morning. Well-kept home with all the kitchen essentials. Especially appreciated the protected fenced area for our pup. Close to the beaches, hiking, and breweries. Thanks!
Cozy and private best describes this gem. It was raining the morning of our stay, picturesque looking out at the ocean and the gorgeous landscaped gardens. We watched bunnies bouncing around the lawns and a deer standing on their hind legs nibbling the leaves off the tree. We were so mesmerized we didn’t get pictures, no one believes us. Thank you Tess!

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
The house was perfect for our coastal get away on the island.
First off Tess is fantastic with communication so we never felt lost. The cottage is super clean and has everything you need for a lovely visit to Sooke. Lots of places to explore and go out to eat, or take back to the cottage or make your own in the well appointed kitchen. Even an electric kettle for tea folks! Birdsong all around, sweet bunnies hopping by followed by lovely deer. The view is spectacular to the sea and the seating areas perfect for relaxing. Don’t hesitate to stay as the beds are cozy too!
This was a great location to springboard from for various hikes and attractions! The outdoor space was huge and beautifully manicured, the indoor space was cute and well stocked. The hiking/beach guide was thorough and very helpful! Would recommend!
We really enjoyed our weekend. Tess was responsive and allowed an early check in. The house was very well stocked and clean. Beautiful views off the top deck.
We loved this cute house! It was incredibly clean and well kept, and the host was wonderful with communication and quick responses. The property was on a quiet circle, very private, and we saw baby deer on two different mornings. Our son loved the legos and games they had, and we all loved the snacks/treats the host left for us - those were really nice touches that we weren't expecting. Nice location outside of town too - highly recommend!
We came out with our friends for a few days of hiking and ocean air and this beautiful little house was the perfect landing spot after full days enjoying the outdoors. Tess left great suggestions about trails and amenities nearby and the property was absolutely gorgeous. We would definitely return!
Cute little place with nice view from the balcony. Large room on the ground floor for the kids and beautiful property. Our family of four stayed there for a few nights in the fall and enjoyed our stay, although the place could use a table and chairs to have a sit down meal on the cozy upper floor. There is a table and chairs outside that would be great in the summer, but a little too chilly in the fall. Hosts were extremely responsive when we asked for extra stools for the breakfast bar. Pet friendly, and the hosts provided treats and a binder with local beach information for exploring. We really enjoyed our stay!
Excellent House with view of Juan De Fuca and Olympics
Very nice accomodations. Perfect for my adult son, wife and I. The pictures and the description do not do it justice. It really IS an ocean view, including the Olympic Range across the strait. We spent most of the time looking out over the straight or up at the night sky.
It has excellent mattresses, is tastefully decorated, and has everything you need. (We were always saying, “do they have this?” “Yup “). Too bad we had to leaves our furbabies in Ohio, there is a nice fenced in area.
Negatives: Noisy crows during our afternoon naps. Yep, that the only negative.
This property and its kind owners delivered beyond expectation. The only thing that hinted at deeper problems were our dealings with VRBO. The extra service fees are frankly outrageous. I'll be surprised if VRBO puts this review on-line. VRBO is cumbersome, slow, and frankly, pushy. Again, the house and the place and the people associated with this property are lovely, the booking system not so much.
We loved every moment of our stay with nearly too many positives to list! The owners have done a phenomenal job supplying so many amenities to make this the perfect, well appointed, comfortable, convenient and cozy home away from home. The ocean views, lush property, lawn games and wildlife are definitely an added bonus. Tess is extremely responsive and made this a very easy and enjoyable process. Thanks as well for allowing our kitty who also enjoyed the getaway and was perfectly content. And lastly, we used the upstairs bed which is crazy comfortable; even the bedding, towels and linens are superb. We highly recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat! A true corner of heaven, thank you! ~Felthams
The place was a great base for doing all kinds of activities along the coast. We really enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and cozy, with nice features like a garage to store boards, a deck with a view, and covered patio. The location is also convenient if you want to stay a little outside of town. The host was also very helpful and quckly responded to questions. We highly recommend!
