Late disappointment !!!

I loved my visit. The location and house were spectacular and I enjoyed every minute. When I arrived back to my house, I received a call from Poppy stating they found damages to a nightstand and a scratch on the floor. I assured them we did not cause any of those Actions and the agent told me they would look at what the damages would cost. I told him I wish I would have been informed I needed to do a video walk around, upon entry of the property because I could’ve shown him 15 other items that were damaged in the house. When I informed the agent that one of my guesst set in one of the chairs and the chair broke, causing him to fall to the ground. The bruises on his arm and scratches were significant. After I informed him about the chair incident the agent informed me that there was a new cleaning crew that wrote the damage notes and he would check to see if previous visitors had caused the damages. I asked him Would I be charged for the damages? He didn’t answer that question and indicated he would get back to me. I am very disappointed that he then stated to me that it was a different cleaning crew and maybe the previous cleaning crews have indicated the stated damages. I felt like telling him I should take my guest to the hospital to get checked as he was bruised and scratched. It was a terrible ending to such a wonderful stay to be accused of damaging a house that we three 70 year olds used lightly at a cost of 5000 for the week.

When a housekeeper reports any damage, it's part of our standard process to follow up with guests to gather more context. This step is meant to ensure accuracy, not to assign blame, and we regret if it felt otherwise. We are very sorry to hear about the chair incident and are relieved your guest was not injured and doing well. That’s certainly not the kind of experience we want anyone to have, and we understand how unsettling it must have been. We recognize that our communication during the follow-up could have been clearer and more reassuring. To clarify, our agent did confirm that the items in question were not considered guest-related damages, and no charges were applied. We’re grateful you chose to stay with us and glad to hear you enjoyed the home and its beautiful location.
