Pheasant Lodge - a touch of luxury in the countryside

Pheasant Lodge, nestled in-between Mapua and Upper Moutere, a perfect base to explore the Tasman region with a quiet and peaceful base to come home to after a day out exploring.

Built in a sheltered spot on our lifestyle block in a rural setting, yet so close to Nelson/Tasmans greatest attractions, you will enjoy access to the Lodge and comfort that is separate to our main home.

The Lodge was built one year ago, with a splash of luxury providing a space you can truly relax in and enjoy the bird song.

The deck was build to capture parts of the views of Mount Campbell and the Mt Arthur ranges, a large stacking door provides that all important indoor and outdoor flow.

We have an QLED TV and soundbar to enjoy music, or a wide range of apps on the TV with high speed internet provided by satellite.

Keep an eye out for our local bird life, Tui, Bellbirds, Fantails, Wood Pigeons, Quails and the all important call of the male Pheasant (he is seasonal).

On your arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a small welcome platter with locally sourced cuisine, a bottle of wine, and one complimentary breakfast, featuring freshly baked bread, fresh farm eggs from our chickens, butter, cows milk and local condiments. We are happy to provide eggs and a loaf of bread on request at no extra charge.

We provide towels and a heated towel rail for your enjoyment, we also provide full sized Real NZ amenities.

New Zealand made wool duvets and cotton sheets adorn the beds, with extra blankets provided to keep you warm if you are a cold sleeper.

Enjoy a range of Nespresso coffees, tea's and hot chocolate from the kitchen including decaf. We have a full range of amenities in the kitchen should you wish to create meals in the Lodge and bring out your inner chef! We also have a webber BBQ available on request.

We have a dog and a cat, they are friendly and will want to say hi over the fence, Bear the tabby cat will come and say hi, and probably snuggle in at the Lodge, so we just ask that you check your vehicles and Lodge before you leave, that he has left as well.

Pheasant Lodge

We loved our stay at Pheasant Lodge! ‘A touch of luxury in the countryside’ is a perfect description but it is comfortable and welcoming with lovely extra touches provided which made our stay extra special. We highly recommend Pheasant Lodge and will be planning a return visit ourselves.

Superb accommodation

Pheasant Lodge is simply outstanding. The property is set in a beautiful location, surrounded by established trees and only about 7 minutes from Mapua.The quality of the home, the decor, all of the supplies is first class. Everything you could possibly think of is provided. We felt so at home and so relaxed. We will definitely return. Colleen and Alby were such wonderful hosts and this property is a credit to their hard work.

Our 2 weeks at Pheasant Lodge were amazing! We were there to celebrate our good friend's birthday, so we spent every day with her family at their house. Pheasant Lodge was a welcome respite at the end of each very busy day. We loved the location, very convenient to the Abel Tasman NP, Moutere Pub, Little Kaiteriteri, Mapua, Motueka, and the lovely Gravity Vineyard. Colleen made sure that we had some gluten-free welcome food for our breakfast. After traveling for 28 hours to get there, being in this warm and peaceful home was like a warm and friendly hug. The Lodge was meticulously clean, and the extras (butter, eggs, coffee pods and milk, to name a few) were so very thoughtful. The ONLY regret is that we were so busy that we didn't get to see their sweet dog. We'll definitely stay at Pheasant Lodge when we make it back to New Zealand. Thank you. Colleen and Alby.

Paradise - highly recommended

A beautiful peaceful setting in the countryside close to all the travel and experiences along the Able Tasman area. We had four full on busy days there and it was great to be able to return in the early evening to relax and have full cooking facilities to enjoy our catch from the Anatoki Salmon Farm. We enjoyed our peaceful starts to the day with freshly baked bread and farm eggs and delicious plums from the next door neighbour. The company of the resident farm animals was an added bonus. Our hosts Colleen and Alby were very generous and we look forward to a return visit as there is so much to see and do in the area.
